Had a decent weekend. DH kept the kitchen and dining area clean and clear - it looks great. We did a very small amount in the garden and I worked on the new tv unit, the undercoat is on so I just need to find some nice paint for the interior.
Catching up with the laundry today, finding a home for all the bits and bobs that live in the drawers of the current tv unit, chucked away a few bits of clothing, just general stuff really. I need to do some ironing later, clean out the rabbits and do the floors. That should do for one day.0 -
Hi all
Busy as ever here and I am so tired tonight! Have managed to clear some paperwork over the weekend so thats good.
I have been trying to talk to someone at Barclaycard for 20 minutes now, I am trying to sort a balance transfer as part of my never ending debt shuffle and it wont let me log in online. Sigh. I am determined to stick it out then thats another job off the list.
DS2 wants a new phone so has asked if he do some jobs around the house to earn some cash. He is currently dusting! How much to pay him though?0 -
Hi Messies!
YL, I`m not sure how old your DS2 is, but - old enough not just to HAVE a phone but to need a new one...that`s old enough to do quite a lot of household chores, IMHO!! How about working out first -
a) how much phone will cost, minus whatever funds (savings/birthday money?) he may have to put to it. = how much me expects YOU to pay.
b) all the chores you think he can manage ok, but which you regularly do - unpaid!
Then negotiate.... You might even get him in the habit of helping a bit more, and one day you may have a grateful DIL!!

I`ve had a busy week so far, a late shift then 2 earlies. I did a bit of tidying after yesterday`s shift, but was really tired and went to bed straight after supper (9pm!)
Today, I`ve had a really lovely shift - the colleague assisting me with my team of patients was great, we worked like we`d been choreographed, and it all went smoothly. No drips leaked, no prescriptions went missing in pharmacy (!!), the hoist had been fully charged overnight, and my patients were lovely. Days like today I know why I really love my job, and it`s worth being tired for.
Went to farmshop on the way home, got some lovely Cheshire spuds that have scraped almost at the mere sight of a knife, got some lovely courgettes that a local allotment holder had brought in, and now just waiting for venison steaks from freezer (OH`sfavourite) to thaw. I`m going to dip sliced courgettes in beaten egg and shallow fry in olive oil - I`ll do extra because I`ll want to eat them cold as well. (drool)
I`m off tomorrow, so will catch up with some cleaning etc., there`s nothing too urgent.

I've not been doing much, had a few bad days Sat - Mon and ended up cutting my arm a fair bit.
Feeling a bit better now, on Sunday I was ready to jump off the nearest bridge.
I had some weed and feed left from the front lawn so used it on the back last week but it only did half. It was reduced in Tesco yesterday do I got some and youngest has just put it on. You could clearly see the line where I stopped so we know it definitely works.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Been MIA for a while. Sadly had to have 14 year old Springer Spaniel put to sleep :-( found myself looking at other doggies needing new homes and will be meeting a potential new dog on Tuesday! This will also mean a home check,! EEK!Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Sorry about your dog Rashka, even after 4 months I can't think of another dog yet but hopefully will in the future.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140

Dibuzz, ((HUGS)) I`m sorry you had such a rotten weekend, and glad you feel a bit better - but still going to suggest you see your doc again, soon, rather than wait for your regular appt. just to keep him aware of current events, especially as you had a recent meds change. It won`t hurt to keep him informed about how it`s working, and as you say he`s pretty good I reckon he`d be glad to see you before your next 4-weekly appt.
Raksha, nice to hear from you again. I`m glad you`re thinking of taking on a needful dog, there are so many out there. Good luck on Tuesday, do let us know how it goes.
Well, I have a day off today, and it`s dull and drizzly. You do not need to look at a weather forecast - just take a peek at my work rota!! Yesterday I was all full of beans, today there are no beans at all. I am blaming the weather.
I woke up early, but have done nothing constructive and have no enthusiasm to get started on anything. I have to nip to Morrisons sometime today, but nothing else in mind - yet. I may as well get that done now, and maybe get in the mood for doing other stuff after. Or not.0 -
Oh, sorry to hear about your dog Raksha. My MIL volunteers with a Springer rescue, they get some fab dogs in.0

The weather definitely makes a difference, it's much easier to get things done when it's sunny although today's rain means I won't have to water the feed into the lawn.
I finally feel asleep at about 4.30am and was up at 5.30 to get youngest up for work. I did try to go back to bed after taking eldest to the station but after an hour of just lying there I gave up.
Emm when is your next day off so I can plan not to mow the lawns?14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Haha! I`ve actually got next week off (from Sunday) so don`t plan any gardening then Dibuzz! (I have holiday owing, and while I was off sick others booked certain weeks -that was the last thing on my mind at the time - so ward sister has to fit my odd weeks where she can.
Also, I had just got back from shopping when I got a phone call `could I change from an early to a late tomorrow?` There`s a reassuring normality about this.. so I agreed.
I do sometimes have trouble getting off to sleep if I know I`ve to be up early, but I don`t have any bother after a late shift, so I don`t mind the swap.
I`ve done a bit of freezer tetris and dug out some lovely thick chicken stock, chucked in celeriac, a parsnip a carrot and a leek, got them simmering, and I`ll put some herbs and pasta `nests` in later, when the veg is cooked. I`ve also dug out a pork chop for OH to have with his or he`ll be fishing for meat among the veg & pasta with a long face!!
I feel a bit more motivated now (somewhat late in the day but better than nothing!) maybe `cos the drizzle has dried up or because I`ve got tonight`s meal under way. I`ve had a blitz in the kitchen, (worktop height only!) and I have been on a trash trawl starting in bedroom and working my way down to LR with a rubbish bag - managed to fill it. Also I`ve put a WM load on, but I think it`ll have to hang around indoors to dry, so no point in looking for another load.0
