Hi Messies!
Dibuzz - you`ve done LOADS, steady on there! I`m another sunshine-motivated type (well, usually I am.)
Tattycath, I find long lists self-defeating. If only I could feel the same about an over-full plate of food I could lose a few inches girth.
Frugalsod, I`m with you on the slow progress thing at the moment. At least it`s not back-sliding, and any bit of progress is good.
I`m running out of energy by mid-afternoon so I try to get a bit done as soon as we get home after the radiotherapy run. OH thinks it`s the long drive and the treatment, but I think it`s just the early start and then eating when we get home! I did have a little nap on Monday afternoon but didn`t sleep well that night, felt lousy yesterday morning! No nap yesterday, slept like a babe, full of beans this morning...
I cleaned up in kitchen & had a quick tidy in LR before we set off, fully intended to clean LR windows when we got home but talked myself out of it.
I`ve done one WM load (mostly towels) but someone`s burning garden stuff and it smells a bit smokey so not drying outside. It`s quite misty here, but we left that behind this morning - then drove back into it on the return trip.
Stir-fry tonight, stuff prepped.
This week is going quite fast so far, at the weekend I`ll be just over half-way through and so far I`m having no skin reaction.
Onwards & upwards then!
Have a nice evening folks. x0 -
I'm making up for yesterday and have hardly done anything.
Just having one of those days where all I want to do is sit in a corner and cry.
I went early to pick eldest up from station as I needed to go to the bank and they shut at 4 so had a wander round the few shops there and got some chicken from the butchers.
Had a look in Wilkinsons and got some glass wipes so got a few funny looks cleaning the car windows in the train car park, they were quite clean but had dried streaky and now look a lot better.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Morning all!
A revelation has occurred at the farm, i have changed the filters in my Dyson!!!! OMG, i didnt realised how clogged the old ones were, even though i cleaned them out every couple of months!!!! Now when i hoover the rooms don't smell of 'dust' anymore! Haha!! So today i will be hoovering EVERYTHING just to see the difference!!
Very foggy here today, doesn't look like it's going to clear either. Eldest son is 18 today, i've just finished decorating his cake for later, he's not doing anything special for his birthday, i think he's not too well at the moment (he has Crohn's disease) but he's not letting on. It must be awful for him, he's constantly tired and permanently grumpy.
Well, i'm off to rev up the hoover......

Hi Messies!
Dibuzz, the only time my car ever gets tidied out or windscreen or dashboard wiped is when I`m waiting to pick someone up!
FW - I always have to change Henry`s bag after DS does his room...not very often...it`s the only time he empties ashtrays!! Quite stinky. I hope your DS enjoys his birthday, albeit in a quiet way, but better than having a hangover just because it`s legal.
Very foggy this morning, even nearer the coast, but we got there & back without delays, treatment done 10 mins before time, and called in Aldi on the way home, got home by 12. Liver & bacon tonight with swede mash, but I`m using frozen mash & microwaving the swede, so it`s an easy meal.
Found a stash of towels in DGDs room, so they`re in WM now, fog has cleared so they can go outside to dry. (Thankfully nobody`s burning !!!!! outside today)
I`m still considering cleaning LR window...
There are 2 good reasons to do it today -
1) the boob under fire is starting to look a bit pink today, so if it gets pinker tomorrow I might not feel like tackling the window, and by weekend I`ll probably be glowing in the dark!
2) the arm stretching I`ll do to get to the top of the window is very like some of the physio exercises I`ve been given, so I can let myself off that bit today!
Have a nice afternoon all, it`s FRIDAY tomorrow! x0 -
Emm if you need extra arm stretching exercise you can come and clean my windows.
Happy Birthday to your son FW.
I've been out this morning to meet 2 women from a charity knitting group. I did try to go last month but chickened out at the last second. I got to the place and just couldn't go any further but it was quieter today and I managed to do it.
There were only 3 of us today but now I've done it once it will be easier to meet the others next time, it's a small group anyway but still feels like a big achievement to me.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Dibuzz, I am so pleased for you, well done. It is a big achievement, I hope you feel that you have made new friends too.
In my experience, crafty people are usually nice people, creativity seems to release good things in the soul, if that's not too airy-fairy.
Farmerswife, happy birthday to your son. Crohn's is a beggar... I am not sure about it being the total reason for grumpiness, my son was a miserable expletive for many years in his teens and twenties!
Emm, your pink bit brought back memories of my sister telling me about her treatment (completely successful). I hope you are not too sore and able to enjoy some treats on your day of rest.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Morning all!
Still foggy here but the wind has got up so hopefully it will blow it all away - then i can hang my washing out!
Today I WILL tidy/clean conservatory (including throwing some things away!!)!!!! It's got to the stage where it's really annoying me so i'm going to bite the bullet and give it a good sort out!
Have a good day!

Good morning everyone,
No idea what I'm going to do today. I'll just wander about and deal with things as I see them I think. The plan is to do a bit of painting this weekend again so I may prep for that so we're all ready to go.
Have a good weekend, hope everyone gets some time to relax.0 -
Hello Messies!
Dibuzz, that is brilliant news about the knitting group, well done for taking the plunge! (Show `em your minions and they`ll love you!)
McCulloch - I`m glad your sister`s treatment was successful. I`ve met a lot of people who have had breast cancer and been succesfully treated, some who had to have chemotherapy as well as radiotherapy, and are fully well & back to normal since then. The biggest enemy is fear associated with "the `C` word" because so many people don`t realise that it can be cured and delay seeking diagnosis and treatment.
Today was another foggy one....all this driving has led me to make 3 observations...
1) people who drive grey/silvery coloured cars seem least likely to drive in fog with their lights on, and they are the most needing to use them!!!
2) road cone production must be the most thriving growth industry in Britain.
3) lorry drivers who spend ages trying to overtake each other and delay both lanes should be hauled out of their cabs and have their heads banged together!
(End of rant)
It`s Friday at last, and it`s sunny this afternoon. Glad I cleaned LR window yesterday, but I do wish I`d at least put last night`s pots to soak, or even thought to do that this morning. We called in Lidl on the way home (just re-opened after refurb) and by the time we got home the gravy/mash on the pots had set like cement, so they`re all soaking now.....
OH treated me to a new (red) mop bucket and I treated him to a new hammer. You`d think he was a keen DIYer & I was a keen mopper, but this is not really the case...
I`m making a minced beef curry for tonight with tarka dal, it all tastes better when done early & left to stand so I`ve made a start and will prod & stir while doing washing up.
I`m picking DGD up from school, bought her a hot baguette & some mozarella for her tea so she`ll be happy.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend, whatever you have planned. I feel really happy & chilled, like the world is my lobster, I have `2 days off`! Might even test my new mop bucket....0 -
Evening All!
I still haven`t tested my new mop bucket. In fact, I`ve not done much at all today on the Messy front. I actually managed to sleep till 9am, then had THREE mugs of coffee - just because I could, without having to think of loo stops!! Oh, the luxury of it when I`ve limited myself to one mug all week.
I`ve pottered in the kitchen more than anywhere, and that has been nice - just cooking and clearing up after myself.
Tomorrow I will do something more....0
