It's raining here so no washing going out.
Glad it went ok Emm. My Gran was 80 when she had radiotherapy and the hospital was 26 miles through the tunnel or 42miles on the motorway, neither of them being much fun at rush hour so they decided to keep her in which she wasn't happy about at first but after the first week she said she didnt want to come home for the weekend.

I decided to take some books to the vets this afternoon for their 2nd hand book table in aid of guide dogs for the blind, partly just to get out of the house.
I was ok till I walked in then just had to stick the books on the table and rush out. I had made a thank you card as well which I just left on the counter then as I was getting in the car the crematorium van was leaving so bad timing really.
I should have just stayed at home I think.

Not at all Dibuzz, you have done a lovely thing in donating those books and you've helped contribute towards someone getting a Guide Dog. They are amazing dogs. So well done.

    Hi Messies!

Dibuzz, you shouldn`t have stayed at home, it`s great that you managed to face going there at all. You`ve been a lot braver throughout than you give yourself credit for. The books will raise money for an excellent cause, and I`m sure the staff there will really appreciate your card and the effort to deliver it in person. (HUGS)x

Tattycath - I take it the habit you`re kicking is the one I`m only trying to cut down on at the moment? Good luck with that. I`m thinking of trying the E-thingies when I start back to work.

Well - Day 3 over and done with in record time today. There & back was the smoothest run to date, plus the actual treatment only took 20 mins as they got me all lined up quicker this time (perhaps the machine is getting to know me!) We were home just after mid-day!
To balance this good timing I`ve had 3 bad bits to my day already:
Came downstairs to find a wet rug this morning - had to get it in WM and mop LR floor before I could even have a coffee.
Dropped my mobile in radiotherapy waiting area - it came to bits!! I amazed myself though, that I managed to put it back together, and that it still works.
Got home and thought I`d have a quick post on here, and found that my keyboard wasn`t working. Had to wait for DS to get up, but he is up now and has fixed it.

Anyway, the washed woolly rug is now outside on the line, I`ve washed a sinkload of pots and wiped down in kitchen, and I`ve got a chicken carcass simmering for stock for tonight`s meal, and the pickings for Littly dog`s supper.
I found a nice recipe in waiting room magazine, pork casserole in cider, so I`m giving it a try. Picking up DGD from school later, and meanwhile just thinking "thank God it`s Friday!" and hoping me AND the car can have a rest!

    Yes Emm, that's the one.
I have an e thingy but I don't really like it, but good to have it there as backup. :)
Feeling irritable today and have been back to bed as I couldn't stop sneezing!

    Hi Messies!

I have really enjoyed today so far. I did wake up early, but it was nice to just lie there for a while and not have to get up and start rushing around! And it was nice this morning to be at home just pottering, mostly in the kitchen and a quick tidy in LR.
Last night`s pork & cider casserole thing was good, and there`s a load left that`s gone in the freezer. I`ve got a lump of pork shoulder plus a pork shank slow-roasting in the oven, the plan is roast dinner tonight, then curry, then soup & cold cuts - so that`s the next few days sorted. (I`m in a pig-eating phase, it would appear!)
I`ve also done the Mr.T run, just for a few essentials plus filling up with petrol for next week - we`re using nearly 10 litres a day on the hospital run, so it`s a big item at present.
DGD is in residence, and we`ve taken Littly-dog out for a walk and a play - all 3 of us need the exercise.
    Next-
I`m going to put DGD`s uniform and a few of my tops (can`t use deodorant during the treatment - well whiffy!) in WM, and prep veg for this evening.

    Hope everyone`s having a good weekend. x

    Hi Messies,

I had a lazy few days but today I have been on a mission. Lots of washing up and the washing machine has just finished, so will be hanging up the sheets to dry. Planning to make some soup later for the rest of the week, so can clear some veg from the fridge. Tomorrow making a cauliflower cheese to clear the fridge that little bit more. The day after will be doing a big batch of slow cooker chilli to clear some more items.

As i found my scalpels I can now empty my big recycling bag which I had left incase one had fallen in. So all slowly improving.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.

I've hardly done anything today after 2 nights of hardly any sleep.
Definitely need to get back into doing things tomorrow or my son will be going to work naked on Monday

I woke up quite early again - not sure if it was the sunshine or just me getting used to early waking again!
I`ve Henry`d, mopped & dusted all downstairs (Except DS & DGD`s rooms!), put a WM load outside on the line, showered & shampoo`d myself & now managed to hoosh DGD into shower!
Motivation? My best mate (from Northampton) is over at her parents this weekend and due here anytime now. I haven`t seen her for ages, and this is a lovely surprise as I only heard she was coming last night when she e-mailed from her mums house.
It`s really warm here - there`s only a few daffs out, no apple blossom or dandelions, so I`m a bit worried about my bee-grublings in the bee-hotels. I do hope they don`t decide to emerge before there`s any food for them....
  • Morning all!!

    Hope everyone is well?

Emm - Hope you enjoyed seeing your bestie!!

It's monday morning AGAIN!! Where did the weekend go?? I've just hung two loads of washing out in the sunshine, it is nice when you can get your washing hung out (i'm starting to sound like my mother!!)

There are so many things in the house that i need to sort. Kitchen floor is a bit 'crunchy' underfoot, windows need a good clean now the sun is out, conservatory needs tidied/cleaned, bedrooms need hoovered and dusted/tidied, bathroom needs hoovered. In fact, the whole house needs a good spring clean!!! I'm at school this morning doing interviews for midday supervisors, so i'll have to get cracking when i get home :(

    Jx
    It's a farmers life for me......:j
