Afternoon messies,
I am on a buzz today. Lots of little chores done and I am still getting things done on the computer. I have an app that locks the screen every 20 minutes or so for a couple of minutes and so during that time I do something else. Get a little exercise as well as I do it. Stops me sitting at my desk all day. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
Evening all!!
Another dull wet day here on the farm! I've managed to do all the ironing, sort school uniforms & prep the supper this afternoon. I've been out and fed the calves, youngest is in the bath & i'm going to put supper on shortly. I even managed to get middle child to peel the potatoes for me while i did my farm work outside!!
New hens have settled in well, haven't let them out yet, maybe tomorrow if the weather is ok. Booked a couple of nights away over easter hols, just to Yorkshire but it will be a nice break for mr farmer, me & the youngest two. With all the carry on about holidays in term time it's quite difficult to get away when we're not busy on the farm & in school hols.
I need to have a good hoover through downstairs tomorrow and sort some clothes to take to charity shop.
Hope everyone has had a nice weekend!

I know welfare standards are high on UK farms, but that's ridiculous!0 -
Morning all!!
Silverwhistle - I didn't realise how that sounded until i read it again!! Just to put the record straight, as much as i love my calves they don't get a bath on a sunday night!! Hahaha!! :rotfl:
Beautiful sunny morning here. I made a sponge cake, sorted the bolognaise & hung washing out before the school run. I've just got back and now having my coffee before i start anything else. There was a flood warning on the local news for our coastline so there must be a high tide coming this afternoon i think, no doubt the weather will change by then.
Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning!
FW, I read it as the youngest calf in the bath at first too. Wow - you`ve got loads done already this morning and I haven`t even started yet. I hope your weather forecast isn`t too accurate - we had a `yellow alert` for snow last week but it didn`t happen, we just got heavy sleet the day before and it fizzled out.
Messy Status Report-
Our domestic chaos of yesterday has settled down, by the time the GF arrived the place wasn`t too bad at all, apart from the laundry still drying. I put a basket of wet stuff in DGD`s room after she`d been collected by her mum, and the rugs are dry now (no new `accident` to deal with this morning either)
I had a large slow-roast shoulder of lamb ready and threw other veg in steamer, so `cheat`s gravy` & voila! Leftovers & more veg for tonight.
This morning, all I`ve done so far is wash up and tidy kitchen.
Weather is sunny & dry today, so I`m going to risk putting stuff outside, and that`ll be the backlog sorted.
Today`s other MUST do`s are -
Slop some colour on my hair (HATE this job!)
Fill up car with petrol, use my Mr T 11p off.
I will fit other stuff in around these 2 items, and I`m going to try to plan for an easy day tomorrow as I`m starting radiotherapy on Wednesday, so an early start which also means lots of driving there & back for the rest of the week.
Drags self away to hang washing out....
have a nice day all. x0 -
Morning,
Haven't done much in the house but I did go to the town via the beach. I treated myself to a few of those things I always want to buy but always manage to talk myself out of, so I am now the owner of a nice pen, a book of embroidery stitches and a workbook for this thing I'm doing, oh and a make up bag! Small stuff but made me very happy.
Hope this aren't too bad for you on Wednesday Emm, wishing everyone a good week.0 -
Well I have a serious case of CBA today.
Not good!
The lounge doesn't look 'too' bad, however, I do need to tidy the table and declutter it
Kitchen-Dishwasher needs emptying and refilling too.
Dry clean washing needs folding up and putting away-only towels tho.
Need to put another load of washing in.
I really should sort out more cupboards and drawers today in lounge and kitchen.
I have put a bacon joint in slow cooker-but that is all I've done so far today.
I need to change sheets on bed too.
Well, I suppose none of these jobs will do themselves so I had best get on.
Might just have a cup of coffee...GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Alec E, I`m a sucker for nice pens, and I`ve found that when you have a decent one that you really like it doesn`t get lost the way others do!
Well, I drove to Mr T`s on fumes, filled the tank and saved almost a fiver - I`m sure the car had hiccups on the way home!
Now trying to prod myself into slopping the colour on my head....0 -

I'm a sucker for notepads...I have loads of them in different sizes, styles, colours.
I'm just a notebook junky.
My DD1 put a colour on my hair last week.I hate that job and I seem to have to do it more frequently these days.
I made my coffee but whilst waiting for kettle to boil etc, I emptied and refilled dishwasher and pulled the towels out of dryer.
Coffee now made and I've just folded towels ready to go in cupboard upstairs.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

There, Tattycath, you`ve got going, well done!
Yes, I`m a notepad fan as well! And post-its. I frequently pause i-player to scribble down recipes or just meal ideas, so that`s 3 different notebooks for this in computer corner., plus one for things I mean to google sometime. Yet the book my phone numbers are in is a tatty old thing, meaning to replace it for a c ouple of years now.
I have the dreaded stuff on my head, another 15 mins to go. It feels like it`s running, I want to itch, and I`ve got my old specs on to sabve discolouring my current specs. It`s better than nothing, but not very good....0
