Emms, we had one of those days last week when everyone just seemed to be getting on each others nerves and everything seemed to go wrong. Hope its more peaceful today.
Jps, nice to know you are still around - just be kind to yourself.
I am feeling a bit more positive today. I have managed to get quite a few things done in the house this week so at least I am starting back at work reasonably on top of things.
I must do some studying though. I dont mind doing it once I get a start but its hard to find the motivation. Need to set an hour aside today.
Right, off for some grocery shopping - everyone is fighting over the last few drops of milk for their cuppas!0 -
Hi Messies!
It`s been sunny here most of the day but with sudden sneaky short showers so Plan A this morning (washing bedding & drying outside) got cancelled! Plan B was to go visit DD but as it was a `nice` day the 3 older grandchidlren were out with their pals, and the youngest 2 were napping! Still good to see them all though, albeit briefly.
Messy Status Report-
Motivation for indoor jobs is very poor.
Trash-trawl done this morning as it was bins day.
Bedroom slipping back into severe untidiness, Hall getting cluttered again, LR not too bad except computer corner where a paper cull and a de-clutter is overdue.
I`ve finally chucked 2 dead chilli plants from LR windowsill and it`s looking dangerously bare....
Kitchen - this is the scene of my most recent efforts, where I can still see real progress. Floor still ok, 3 sides of kitchen quite pleasing to look at BUT the left side from door to cooker is still waiting to be blitzed. Carp on floor needs sorting, wall needs wiping, and cooker is atrocious.
I burned the @rse of my best & most used pan yesterday - who would think tomatoes would do that? I`m soaking it as it`s not ready to `lift` yet... still, it`s only myself that I`m cross at.
Hope everyone`s having a reasonable Monday so far. x0 -
Keeping up with washing and ironing but not much else.
Youngest son promised to take me shopping this morning but still isn't up despite constant reminders and is picking his girlfriend up at 12 so no point now.
He knows I'm having trouble going out and we've hardly anything in at all.
If I'd known I would have tried to get a few things earlier before it was busy but can't face going now.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Got a load in the washing machine today and at least another 2 loads need doing.
Must tidy lounge today-there is sewing stuff and lots of general carp all over the place.
Need to empty bin in bedroom as it's overflowing.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Dibuzz, my DS is impossible to wake too, always leaves everything till the very last minute. Hope you left yours to sleep on & be late picking up the GF! I hate going into town or supermarket when it`s busy, that`s why I got so naggy on Saturday! It`s not that I have a problem going out or being with people, it`s just when there are so many dawdling and milling around in clumps, plus longer queues, and you can`t get anything done, simple errands take longer and my patience is rapidly drained these days!
I`ve spent a couple of frustrating hours this morning sorting out my sick-note - when I asked for it last week they said `fine`, but when I went to collect it they said it wasn`t due till next week. (last one was for 4 weeks, I was sure it wasn`t 6, but thought they must know what they were doing....) I checked with ward sister yesterday, couldn`t do it earlier as she was off last week. I was right - so, went to GP surgery this morning... they said they`d issued one, I said they hadn`t, and it turned out they had one on their computer that expires today, printed that off for me and said I`d have to go back tomorrow for another one!! The others at that surgery are great, but wherever they found this lass I wish they`d send her back there. Then, I took the expiring sick note in, had a nice natter with Sister & a couple of colleagues, and will do same again in a day or 2. No, I am not grumpy now.
I`ve also finally cleaned the burnt pan - soaked it in bio washing powder and was pleased it didn`t need much scrubbing. Washed 2 lots of bedlinen, but had to hang it in doorways upstairs as we`re still getting `sneaky` little showers here.
All I`ve done in the kitchen apart from the pan & the washing is maintain the 3 `good` sides and scrub/de-grease a little plastic stool from the `bad` side. I`m getting there, slowly.0 -
Morning Messies,
Well I woke up at 6 am and decided to make up for lack of effort over the last week. Not doing badly so far. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -

This is the son who only slept 2 hours a night as a baby and didn't sleep through till he was 12 (years!)
I'm ok to just nip in for 1 or 2 things and come straight out but if I have to do a big shop I struggle. I can wander round for half an hour trying to get the courage to go to the till.
Now Steff isn't here to greet me I hate coming in on my own too14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Hi Messies - been following along but not had much time to post or much to say lately. Messy-status chez sonastin is not too bad. OH and I had a bit of a cleaning session at the weekend so most of the house is acceptable. Yesterday's misadventure could have been so much worse if the bathroom hadn't been cleaned Sunday...
As usual, I got up and went for a shower without properly waking up. We have some boats parked on the back drive outside the (frosted) bathroom window. Out of the corner of my half-asleep eye, I saw movement which looked decidedly like someone interfering with the boats. I opened the window a crack and climbed onto the toilet to look out - thankfully the shape was just one of the boat covers blowing in the wind. And just as that realisation hit me, the toilet seat lid shattered underneath me and I landed with my foot in the toilet :rotfl:
OH has been his usual sympathetic self and instead of giving me TLC for my broken toe (not really broken- exaggerated like his "TB" every time he has a cough) he's feeling it necessary to tell everyone about it. New toilet seat purchased from ebay, being delivered today so he had to ask the neighbours to take in the parcel... and tell them why (even though we have parcels all the time and nothing is said). Shouted down the phone while I was talking to my mum. He's even coming to the pub quiz tonight so he can share with friends. Thank god he can't use facebook
To be honest, i'm not sure my OH can spell "TLC" :rotfl:

Hope your toe is better soon sonastin.
Men don't seem to do sympathy! Unless they have 'man flu'! :rotfl:
Today I have done 2 loads of washing so far and put some clean washing away.
I've started hand sewing another draft excluder and just need to get some more stuffing so I can finish it off.
I still need to empty bin in bedroom and I will do the one in the bathroom whilst I am up there.
I still need to tidy lounge and sort some stuff for bay of e.
Will check in later-hopefully with positive news.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Hi Everyone
Dibuzz, hugs. So frustrating when you have made a plan then it doesnt work out. Kids just arent very understanding are they?
Oh and Sonastin, you will get your revenge one day I am sure!
Tattycath, we like a bit of positive news around here.
I have been at work (had to do a site visit which involved a lot of walking and now I have got warmed up I feel a bit sleepy).
So I am going to do a bit of paperwork for job no. 2, washing is out on the line but I need to keep an eye on it (as Emm says, sneaky showers about). Oh and sausages with potato bake for tea, the potato bake needs a couple of hours on slow so must remember to get it in the oven nice and early.
And looking around me it could really do with a bit of a hoover in here. No rest for the wicked!0
