Good morning everyone. Dibuzz so sorry about your dog but she was loved.x
So much has happened over the lasts month . Iv split from my childrens father after 20 years ,my choice and long time coming. Iv a new man in my life which is quick but Iv decided that life is too short to hang about.
Iv had to let my dog be re homed to a lovely family where hewill get the exercise and attention he deserves and needs.
Iv not caught up on every ones posts yet but hope your all well. Hugs to those that need them.xx0 -
Morning everyone
Nice to hear form you Snookey, sounds like a lot has been going on, fill us in a bit more when you get chance. Hopefully all this brings you happier times. I am sure the decision about the dog wasnt an easy one but you have done it for all the right reasons. Hugs.
Going to see my parents this morning. They have had some branches cut off a tree which overhangs their garden and need help to shift the wood to the recycling place. Will hopefully be able to bring some home for the fire too. Mum isnt too well though, she has a fairly minor medical condition which flares up and triggers anxiety. Or the anxiety flares up and triggers the medical condition, I am not sure which. Wish I could help her more.
Anyhow, been a busy week at work. With a supreme amount of effort I have done a bit of housework each day so the house is OKish. Need to do a bit of paperwork for my volunteer job and a bit of studying this weekend.
Oh and the weather has been lovely here, but its foggy this morning. Right off to get dressed and get moving. Have a good day all x0 -
Good Morning Messies!
Snookey, I hope all goes well for you. It can`t have been easy for you even though the changes in your life were of your choosing (been there!) and it takes courage to trust your instincts - but it`s the only way! ((HUGS))
Dibuzz, there`s going to be painful reminders of poor Steff while the grief is still raw. Instead of thinking of moving altogether, is it possible to re-arrange the furniture a bit, or do a bit of decorating - even a few little changes might help make you feel a bit better. ((HUGS))
FW, I can just picture you driving along and singing to your new hens!
YL, I hope your mum is better soon, I`m sure your visit will cheer her up. Well done doing a bit each day when you`re so busy, too.
Alec E & Tattycath, sounds like you 2 are winning with the de-messifying , whereas I have lurched to a halt again!
Yesterday NOTHING got done here, we went to visit OH`s aunt, then I picked up DGD from her mum`s, helped DGD put her clean bedding back on, made a curry, and the day was gone!
Today-
I`ve cleaned & wiped in kitchen to maintain recent progress, and DGD & I have laten Littly-dog out for a walk and a good play as the weather was springy. DS hasn`t started doing his room yet, and the GF is coming tomorrow!
I`m going to Henry upstairs in a minute, and clean upstairs loo, then call it a day - no point tidying LR as DS`s stuff will engulf it for a while when he starts cleaning his pit!!!
Hope everyone`s having a good weekend. x0 -
Thanks Emm, eldest and I did have a look last weekend but there isn't really any other way the room can go. I started stripping this room about 2 years ago but every time I removed a bit of paper the plaster came off with it so it has been half done all this time, maybe it's time to sort it out.
It's been nice enough to hang washing out today and I keep looking at the decking where Steff would be lying if she was here and the sun came out, she loved lying in the sun.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Dibuzz, I remember you saying a while back you had problems with the plaster. Maybe you`d feel better getting it sorted out properly, but meanwhile how about something easier and quicker to give a different look - curtains and a throw or blanket for the sofa, for instance? I did this (for similar reasons) years ago, was quite hard up at the time but found good stuff in CS. It was a drastic colour change for me as I`d always stuck to browns or red, and I went orange! It helped.
Since last post I`ve Henried upstairs, and DS has brought all his washing out ...3 WM loads done and hanging around everywhere now to dry! I`m not cooking a `normal` meal tonight, we`re having `all day breakfast`.0 -
Hi Messies!
Chez Emm is in chaos!
The GF is due here this evening, and I`ve only just managed to get DS up! DGD has been awake since mid-day but only just surfaced, and is now cooking noodles for breakfast. Both of them will spend ages in the bathroom later, which means another WM load of towels for me to do, and possibly bathroom trashed though it`s not too bad at the mo.
I`ve put away the dry washing that was hanging around everywhere, and hung up the last load that was left in WM overnight - plus had to wash a woolly LR rug as poor old Dafy-dog had piddled. I`ve got a load of cardboard (DS`s) in the boot to take to local skip, but I`m waiting for him to make a proper start on his room as there`ll be a couple of bin bags to go as well.
I`ve tidied the kitchen, but I`m expecting a load of grotty mugs etc. when DS gets going. And when he changes the bedlinen that`s another WM load. I`d rather feed WM myself because he always overfills it and I can`t afford to replace WM just now so treat it gently!
I know I should leave him to it, deal with his own mess, but I am glad of the GF`s visits as a) we like her a lot and b) visits mean fairly regular clean-ups (though you`d never think so looking in there!) which prevents his room becoming a real health hazard! But it`s only when HE`S finished that the rest of the house can return to some kind of normality....

I'd love to have it sorted properly but it will be a while till I catch up after the vet bills. It would also be embarrassing as I would have to open the doors into my daughter's room.
We do have bankets on the sofa as I don't like using the heating too much, I don't need to wash them as much now we don't have Steff lying on them. She always liked to be snuggled up. I can't sit on the sofa yet, it feels wrong without her diving in behind my knees.
We had a folding fabric crate, sort of like a travel cot but enclosed all round for when we took her in the car and I've not been able to take it out of eldest's car but had to last night as I was being mums taxi to 3.
I managed to fold it and put it away but it needs to go really. One of the bars is broken and although it still works fine I don't want to give it to anyone, partly because it's Steff's crate and I don't want any other dog to use it14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
