Ok so I've just put away some more clean towels and got my third load of washing in.
I've emptied the bins upstairs and Mr tc is taking me to get some stuffing later so I can finish my draft excluder tonight.

Hi Messies!
Dibuzz - ((HUGS)) A dog welcoming you home is one of the most wonderful things about having dogs, no matter what kind of day you`ve had it suddenly gets better. It`s also one of the worst things that you miss though, even though you know you did the right thing. x
Sonastin, sorry I chuckled at your post - it could have been a lot worse, but I hope your foot isn`t too sore.
YL & Tattycath & Frugalsod - I`ve been a busy Messy too today! Dunno where it came from but I got the urge this morning and have managed to get loads of stuff done....
FOUR thick fleece blankets washed & line dried
Plus a WM load of towels likewise & now put away.
Gas cooker hob & grids soaked in stuff since early.
New sick note collected from GP & dropped off at work.
Sorted one of DGD`s drawers - bag for CS and a bag of cleaning rags (used on cooker!)
Sorted my sox & nicks, turfed out oddities.
Prepped veg for tonight (veg soup & spanish omelette)
Scraped/scrubbed stuff off hob & fittings. Nasty job, long overdue!
Now going to get the soup on then have a glass of wine, I feel I`ve earned it today.0 -

Morning all, got off track with intended aim of getting house under control for a while as other stuff got in the way. My disabled son (21, lives an hour's drive away with support staff, has autism and learning difficulties) has been having a difficult time so I needed to do what I could to help sort it out. Then got some extra paid work in.
But at the weekend, with OH's help, I have completely sorted the patio. Moved everything around, put the rotary drier into the lawn instead of it dominating one end of the patio and identified a few plants I 'need' to finish it off. Very satisfying. Also sold a few things on ebay and managed to keep the rest of the house OKish. Also paperwork up to date. And last night after getting home from work I rememberd that my oven is SOOOOO bad that the smoke when it is turned on means having to open EVERY window and door and still makes everyone cough. So I took out the floor and scrubbed it. Not perfect, but very little smoke now. So there has been some progress.
Working yesterday, visiting son today and then this evening I am going out! To the opera! With a dear, dear friend! Despite being really tired I am so excited.
Also was signed off by the physio on Tuesday (I slipped a disc back in November) with some restriction on what I can do in the gym (somehow I never lack the energy for that!) but am out of recovery training. Really pleased. The gym and the stuff I do there are what keep me sane as I am not very good at dealing with stress and there's a lot of it about!
I might get a bit more done on the house tomorrow, but then up to OH's after a swimming session with my son on Saturday, so nothing then until next week.

Good Morning!
Nlj, that`s lots of good stuff! I hope you enjoy your night out tonight, you deserve it after all that. My oven is really bad, I must deal with it soon - the hob looks a lot better so now would be a good time....
Today, so far, I`ve had a quick clean around the kitchen, put away and cleared the decks. I have to nip out to farmshop today and will drop off CS stuff on the way - happily this doesn`t require going into town.
Last night`s soup was gorgeous, and used up thick pork jelly/stock from the £1 pork shanks, as well as last bit of spring cabbage and bendy celery & carrots, and the Spanish omelette was to use up leftover frozen roasties and the last of the eggs, so nice cheapy no-waste job there. Not sure what I`ll get today till I see what they have, then I`ll work around that, decide what to dig out of freezer to go with it!
DS informs me that his GF is coming down for a few days on Sunday (which means he`ll clean up his room....) and I still don`t know when DGD is back from other grandparents, she could just turn up anytime!
I`d better get going then...
Have a decent day everyone. x0 -

I have loads to do today.

I week today
I've done nothing today, took eldest to the station and cried all the way home because I realised that 1 week earlier I was driving home to take Steff for her last walk.
There are too many reminders of her here, I wish we could move away.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -

Dibuzz,
You won't know me from the forum as I tend to just read and lurk, but I just wanted to send you a hug after reading your last post about you being reminded of your dog :grouphug:
I've had dogs for the last 20 years, and it's always hard when you lose one, and I thought the pain wouldn't go when my last one was put to sleep, but I promise you it will.
Think of the good times you had together and everything you did for each other, and know that you gave your dog the best life possible, and that she wouldn't have had it any other way
Dogs are so special to us, and they are so 'human' the grief we feel is exactly the same as we feel when someone close to us dies. This link might help you

and if you need to at any time, you can always PM me - I've been where you are now, and understand exactly how you feel.

Hi everybody!
I've just been catching up with all the posts. The sun has been shining here today, usually that spurs me on a bit but i've just faffed about half doing thingsHad a mad rush this morning to go and collect my new hens and get back in time for the vet to arrive to scan some cows to see if they are pregnant. I dread to think what the 10 hens in the boot of the car thought about my driving (and singing) haha!!
Swimming lesson for youngest at 5.30pm, i've made bolognaise and mr farmer has cracked how to cook the spaghetti when he gets in from milking so it will be ready when we get home! He's a lovely man!! And i'm trying a new recipe in my slow cooker, its a self-saucing chocolate orange sponge pudding, fingers crossed it will be cooked when we get back later. Can't believe its friday tomorrow, the week has flown in, if the weather continues like this i'll hopefully feel a bit more motivated..............
Take care all,
JxxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
Dibuzz, it sounds a bit pathetic saying to you that it will get easier in time but it will. Allow yourself to feel sad, upset and unhappy - there is nothing wrong with that - and I am a big believer in just letting all those emotions out.
nlj, your life sounds as busy as mine! Despite all that it sounds like you have achieved a lot.
Oh just remember I put the deep fat fryer on - better go and put some chips in, will catch up properly later.0
