My home is a mess

Said goodbye to Steff this morning, it was awful
She wagged her tail till the end and was so excited to see the vets, they were lovely with her and let us stay as long as we wanted.
I was glad my eldest had taken a day off to go with me, don't think I could have done it on my own.
I'm going to wash all her stuff and put it away in a bit, the dog carrier we use in the car is past it's best so that can go but I will keep her basket, lead, blankets and cuddly dog.
I can get back to trying to sort the house out now she's gone but I'd much rather have her here

Hello Messies.
Dibuzz, this is such a sad day for you, Bless you, but you have been a wise and loving dog-owner right to the very end, even choosing the favourite vet. Your strength and courage are great, and I`m glad your son was able to go with you. When it feels like nothing helps little things do. And we`re all thinking of you. xx0 -
Aww Dibuzz, sitting here with tears in my eyes. She was a beautiful dog and so lucky to have you.
I am just about to drop DS1 off at the swimming pool then will have 3 hours alone to do whatever I want - how exciting is that - I am never alone!!!!0 -
Brittney, Welcome.
Throwing things out isn`t my greatest thing - that`s why my home is a Mess I suppose - I have never been able to just chuck a few things as you describe, I have to rely on having the occasional blitz like the one I did in the kitchen recently.
I half-filled the wheelie-bin!
Nothing done here so far this week.
2 consecutive hospital appts, then car MOT today.
It failed- garage man is now doing the necessary (a bush needs replacing in the suspension. I am picturing a shrubbery with some springs here and there....)
Both appts went ok, got there in time, didn`t get lost getting to either place, and managed to find parking spaces eventually.
MOT result not too unexpected, and could have been worse, I should have the car back by late afternoon.
Meanwhile I am grounded.
No excuse now for not doing stuff, so WM load of towels going in, and I`m going to commit Pie for this evening. (Pork tenderloin with cheese & parsley stuffing wrapped in puff pastry.) Then clean both loos, maybe bathroom too - or not. Not Henrying as I need to listen for the phone in case the garage rings.0 -
Morning folks. Sunny day here by the looks of it and not planning on doing anything I don't have to.
Dibuzz, hope you managed to sleep well. It won't seem right this morning without Steff but think of all the happy memories. You are very brave and kind and did what was best for her xx0 -
Dibuzz sorry for your loss. The compassion you have shown in your care of your dog should be used as an example to all pet owners.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
