  • Sorry to hear that dibuzz.:(
  • So sorry dibuzz. It's only when you have pets yourself you understand how big a part they play in your life xx
  • Morning all

As Emm said I have now got used to the new mattress and I am sleeping better which makes a huge difference to everything! I MUST get my eyes tested though, my vision is definitely not right and I have had a few headaches lately.

Oh and the flooding. I cant watch the news without getting emotional, I dont know why I feel it so much. I suppose living in a rural area I really know what those farms and animals mean to people.

So I was out last night and drank more than I should have (I am not really one for much alcohol) so I feel a bit ropey but it was good fun. I have to do a bit of paid employment today but its not difficult and shouldnt take too long.

I have decided to try and avoid doing too much housework on a weekend other than stuff I enjoy like baking. Its just not healthy to try and keep going at the pace I have been keeping up for the last couple of months.

Oh and in preparation for a brand new home for the aviary birds at the bottom of the garden OH has bought flat pack cages for them as they will have to go into the shed temporarily. These are being built in the kitchen but its OK - I am not going to stress about it and OH is trying not to make too much mess.

Hugs Dibuzz, must be awful for you.

And welcome Mobo, baby steps all the way!
  • Morning all!

    Dibuzz - big hugs!

YL - nice to hear you've had a night out!!

I'm not going to get much done today, eldest daughter has county tennis training 22 miles away in the middle of the day so we'll be late home. Also, we've got a load of farmers coming this thursday for a farm walk!!!! So never mind getting the house tidy, i need to get the farm tidy - any offers of help gratefully received! Ha!! And i need to bake some cakes as i'm providing the 'light refreshments' too!!!!!!

Weather is dull and windy today, i've got my thermal top on as it won't be warm at tennis, a few of the mums go into the town for coffee/shopping etc but i like to stay and watch the tennis (and i HATE shopping).

    Have a good day everyone!

    Jxx

  • Good Morning all.

Dibuzz ((HUGS)) I know you knew it was coming, but that doesn`t help at all, does it? How is Doggy in herself? Is the new lump affecting her yet, is she noticing it herself or is she sort of `normal` otherwise ? It`s SO hard - the decision is made as to what must be done, it`s the `when` bit that is the most difficult.
My dear old Dafty-dog is getting weaker in the back end, and I know it`s not going to be long.
Yesterday the animals ganged up on us in a proper chain reaction - DS`s door was left open, puss had been fed but DGD fed her again and puss left it. Littly- dog went and snaffled the cat food, OH fed Littly-dog unaware she was sated... normally scoffs fast, but she left her food and dear old Dafty got it. (She is normally on old dog hypo-allergenic food plus pilchards)
Result of all the meal swopping - Littly has been sick & squitty, Dafty also taken short overnight.....more rug-washing & have had to mop LR & kitchen floors again this morning.

Hoping to have a fairly quiet day now that the `extreme laundry` is sorted, I have yet another appointment tomorrow in a different hospital to the one I work in, so don`t know my way around, parking etc. (bone density scan this time, as the anti-cancer hormone pills increase risk of osteoporosis so they keep an eye on things. They`ve already put me on a calcium supplement but explained they might increase that if I need more.)
YL, I`ll take your lead and decide not to stress about things! It`s not the actual appt that bothers me just the getting lost/being late thing! I`m glad you enjoyed your night out too, and hope the ropiness wears off quickly.

FW - how on earth do you tidy a farm?? I hope the visitors appreciate your efforts.

I`m going to do a bit more kitchen pottering today, as it`s the only place where there isn`t stuff hanging up to dry!

Doggy seems to be happy enough but she has been acting a bit strangely for a few days. She is clingy and wants to be on my knee a lot but still acts like a puppy when I give her a dentastix or treat.
She doesn't seem to be in pain but she's a tough little thing anyway, the vets were amazed how quickly she recovered when she was in aftercare. She was trying to tunnel her way out when the other dogs were still flat out.
A couple of times I've noticed her limp on her back leg so I don't know if it's pressing on a nerve or something. Obviously I can only see what's showing on the outside.

  • Dibuzz, it`s the puppyish bit and the cuddles that make it hard to decide. Just take each day as it comes - you will know, probably better than the vet. ((HUGS)) to you both.

    Update -
I`ve got very little done, have nipped to local co-op TWICE for stuff for DGD - lipsalve, then she fancied orange juice but wanted straws as it still hurt sore lips. And she reeks of Olbas oil, you can smell her a mile off!
I`m making chicken stew to try to ward off the rest of us getting her lurgy, but it`s probably all in the mind.
  • Emm - tidying the farm will probably involve sweeping a lot and hiding things - a bit like i do in the house!! haha!!!

Been to tennis, daughter had a fab session, met up with her tennis friends that she doesn't see all that often. Got home and made a batch of choc chip cookies, put the ironing away and lit fire. We stopped at the butchers on way home and got a big bit of pork shoulder which i've halved and put in freezer. I'd defrosted a pork fillet for supper tonight but didn't know what to make, after a quick look on the interweb i've coated it in breadcrumbs (homemeade!) and popped it into the oven......fingers crossed!!!

I love Sunday nights, once we've had supper we all sit by the fire watching tv till the kids go to bed, it's a lovely relaxing evening before the mad panic of Monday morning!

I could really do with an online grocery shop but have decided that i'll use up as much stuff as i can and do one at the end of the week. Not sure how we'll survive without cheese until then!! haha!!

    Hi Messies,

Well I have done a few things and am starting to clear things. It will take time but I have plenty of that while I am paying down my debts.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.
