My home is a mess

Feeling like my head was about to drop off today with a headache from hell and feeling sick. I think man flu has found me.
Headache subsided a little this evening so I cleaned the kitchen and plumbed the new washing machine in.
It feels fantastic having a machine after six weeks without one due to Hotpoint/Indisit, !!!! ups. On the plus side its an upgrade and they waived the delivery fee.
May end up on watchdog with other Hotpoint customers as a bloke on the Hotpoint facebook wants to get people together who have had nothing but problems.
Jp take it easy and hope you get better soon.
Its really nice to see new people on board here. Makes you feel that your not alone with the struggle of maintaining a home.
Iv bought some more boxes to store stuff from the spare room of doom. Most of its stuff that I want to keep but needs storing properly.
Going to have someone to price a new frame for the front door. Its been there for over 100 years and needs replacing. Also need a new door. Its nice having an old house but so expensive to replace things as nothing is standard size.
Going into town tomorrow with my dad if he does not change his mind. Also visit my uncle whilst there as he is in hospital.
Hugs to everyone old and new.xxx0 -
Good morning,
I had a day off yesterday, didn't even make my bed! We went out for a day of my choosing, so we went fabric and cake shopping, with great success on both fronts, I spent virtually all of my gift money which was great. As a consequence of that today I am sorting out the sideboard in the spare room and turning it into fabric stash storage. It's a bit of a nothingy space at the minute, it pretty much exists to house one lamp so sticking fabric in there might help. Other than that I hope to get to the bottom of the laundry basket, have a general tidy and start to think about my next quilt.
Enjoy the washing machine snookey.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Another day of recycling gone out. (I LOVE Thursdays!!)
De-cluttered under the stairs to keep on top and about to clean the fireplace and TV stand.
2 Lots of washing in process of being washed/dried. I will attempt to put as much away as possible this afternoon.
Rest will be tomorrow (have other piles of clean washing to put away too)216/2018 (make ££ in 2018)

Good Morning Messies!
Dibuzz, I`m glad Doggy`s doing ok, thanks for the update & please keep us posted - ((HUGS)) to you both.
JPS - I`m glad you`ve rested up and feel better, hope the rest of the week goes ok and you can soon take it easy at the weekend.
Frugalsod - we used to make home-made Bailey`s, but haven`t bothered in the last few years. We do buy one `seasonal` bottle, and keep it for putting a big dollop in first coffee of the day - only on the days we`re definitely staying home all day though!
Doobop, I wish I could do the `quick nap` thing. OH does and always feels refreshed, but on the rare occasions when I doze off in the daytime I feel really yucky after, useless till bedtime, and then don`t sleep.
Snookey, I hope your WM troubles are over at last now, and your `man-flu` passes quickly. DS still the only one with the lurgy here, sneezing like Vesuvius and staying in his room keeping it to himself!
Today-
I`ve got as lump of pork shoulder thawing for tonight, (another bit of freezer space!YES!) and I reckon we`ll curry the leftovers, so I`m going to freeze the 2 pork tenderloins I got yesterday (Backsliding!!)
One WM load done and another one in.
Kitchen un-trashed (yes, DS put his own chicken stew out last night!)
Nip to farmshop in a bit, as I`ve used up veg, except potatoes - also need to sort out my potato stash, have 3 black shopping bags in spare room of Doom, each with some spuds in...
Have a couple of errands in town tomorrow, so need to make a list today of other bits to do while we`re there.
Have a decent day everyone.x0 -
Hello Messies.
Today I am getting around to the washing up. Three days and I could not be bothered, well most done already will wipe the items up and put them away. Making some Baileys today so will have some of that as my treat for cleaning today.
As the bathroom is now tidy I can wash the floor in there later. Might do the kitchen floor as well. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
Hello messies,
I've been missing for a while, I had loads to do with oh's return, christmas and my girls birthdays!
I have storage boxes of christmas decorations everywhere! We have so many. Oh really enjoys christmas so he tends to over do it. We are even considering buying a small shed to house it all!
I'm now 31 weeks pregnant, last time I went to see my consultant he said that they don't expect me to go to my due date and that they are expecting me to get pre-eclampsia. My waters broke at 36+4 last time but I didn't give birth until 37 weeks.:D
DD2 started nursery on tuesday, so its just me and the small guy for 3 afternoons a week until baby gets here. I'm still not getting much done, waddling round the house finding all the baby things.
Oh has most of tomorrow off, he's got to be assessed for PTSD. He hasn't had any signs and he has said it is normal considering what job he was doing whilst away. He's also got to see the doctor next week to ask if he can have the snip:o We discussed it and 4 is enough for us.: DD1 23/11/09

Hi messies,
Kat congratulations and welcome back to the messies thread!
Snookey hope your head is feeling better. I hate those really nasty headaches but I'm lucky, they're very rare for me. Hope it's not flu - look after yourself. Glad to hear your washing machine is finally in place!
Alec I'm feeling a bit quilty again these days and keep rummaging through my stash making plans... I think Easter might be another quilt project holiday!
Kayester, well done on the decluttering! I am a bit of a sloblady and admit to only cleaning the TV when the dust interferes with my viewing
Good to see you again frugalsod, well done on your demessying too.
Emm, I hope your DS hasn't got anything like the cold I had, what a nightmare! I am now feeling a bit better though, managed quite well at work though the asthma is still quite bad. Friday tomorrow!
Love to all xxI believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Oooh home made Baileys, I could taste test it for you if you like.
Kat take it easy, this is the one time in your life when you are definitely entitled to rest and put your feet up! Hope it all goes well. Hugs for OH.
DS1 is a little calmer after a really bad week with his anxiety. We saw his psychologist yesterday and she wants to get him properly assessed again as its not been done for 3 years. It doesnt really make a difference but it helps with other services.
Work today. Its really quiet and I dont have enough to do. I know I shouldnt complain but its boring and the time goes so slowly. My boss keeps telling me I look tired and it feels a bit like she is criticising me. Yeah well you try doing 2 jobs, caring for a son with health problems and doing 90% of the domestic stuff at home. And I am not sleeping very well for some reason.
However I am looking forward to the weekend and have definitely booked in some me time! Have a good day everyone.0 -
