Hello Messies.
I have done nothing for a day or two, feeling a little guilty but not that much. I have concentrated on the daily chores for now and keeping them under control. I use an iPad/iPhone app which I have set up to update scheduled chores over the weeks and months. Some I only do quarterly so will do them when reminded. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
Morning all!
I have to confess that i didn't do the ironing yesterdaythe mountain is growing!! I must do it today, eldest daughter going for new school shoes with her gran after school, gran told her to make sure she has clean socks on. At which point my daughter revealed that she was wearing yesterdays cos she had none in her drawer as i haven't sorted the ironing pile!!!!! Mind you, i don't iron socks, they're just lurking in there until i pair them up!
Don't know what to make for supper, freezer has well stocked so should go and have a look now.......
JxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
Hi Messies!
We had another bit of Drain Drama yesterday - noticed downstairs loo glugging again etc., called water board again, and they sent the same 2 chaps as Friday evening, but with a camera this time. They were brilliant, this time they actually found what one of them said he suspected last time, after listening to my potted history of our drain events - another manhole part-buried on next doors` side of the hedge. They cleared that too, and said they thought that was the starting point of the trouble. Not a pleasant job, but they were so nice about it, Bless `em. I`ve phoned water board this morning to give feedback & thank them - we are sometimes quick enough to grumble, so I think it only fair to pass on a bit of praise where it`s due!

Cleared up in kitchen, quick tidy in LR, one load in WM (mostly undies) and got some venison steaks out of freezer for tonight, with leeky mash leftovers and whatever veg I find at farmshop.
Waiting for WM to finish, hang stuff to dry then nipping to farmshop. (For newer Messies, must explain this isn`t one of those pricey farmshops, just much fresher and lots cheaper than supermarkets! eg - tray of large eggs £3.60, pointy red peppers 2 for 50p, 3 bags - carrot sack size- of kindling sticks for a fiver.... also get all wild birdfood there by the sack.)
Then I`ll have a rummage upstairs and sort out what to wear for hospital appt. tomorrow- might have a 20-minute blitz while I`m at it.
Have a nice afternoon folks. x0 -

Haven't done anything around the house today, DH did the washing up. White rabbit chewed a hole in one of the armchairs and I left my cardi at the charity shop, just hope I can get down there tomorrow before someone sells it or chucks it.
kayester, half started jobs are still started, if you get round to doing a bit more they'll be even more done. Don't worry about it.0 -
Hi Messies!
Buffy - hope the chicken soup did the trick & made you feel better. I had to chuckle at your post, as I had one wizened satsuma sitting in a fruit bowl yesterday too!
Alec E - hope your cardi didn`t get sold!
Kayester - Half started is better than not started. Well done on the bathroom.
I`ve done nothing in the house today except kitchen sink/tops.
Saw Consultant, all results good so no further surgery (PHEW!!) but as I didn`t have a drain there was a build-up of fluid behind the wound - he stuck a needle in and drew it all off, didn`t even hurt, and now feels much more comfy and `normal`. Just waiting for Oncology appt now & to start pills & radiotherapy.
And, as I`m already in my tidy togs and a slightly celebratory frame of mind OH has suggested the pub this evening. I`ve got some smoked mackerel defrosting, plus leeky mash (again!) and will do some boiled eggs...can`t poach for toffee.
Have a nice evening all.x0 -

Emm, glad the results were all ok.
kayester, good to hear you're feeling a bit better today.
I managed to rescue my cardi, although it would have been sold had I not arrived as early as I did apparently.
I did my cardigan mercy dash first thing so before I went out I did a few bits - did the washing up and put it away, put some laundry away, had a two minute tidy in the bedroom and bathroom, cleared the dining table and dealt with rabbits. I said I was going to batch cook today but I don't know if I will.
Hope everyone is getting on ok today.0 -
