Today's plan is listed on paper and will be crossed off as they happen

Washing two loads done, 3rd lot on

Panto - oh yes I am :rotfl:
And now I have told my fellow messy friends, so it must be done:eek:0 -
Morning all.
Yesterday I sorted out the chest of drawers in my bedroom, I feel so much better, chucked a load of stuff into the rag bag for the charity shop and tidied the rest. Did a couple of loads of laundry, dealt with the tree and did some quilting.
Today my parents have invited themselves over to take me out for tea and shower me with gifts, I didn't sleep very well due to the weather so I'm not really up for it but there you go. So far today I have aired and made the bed, put a bit of laundry away, cleaned out the buns, swept the stairs and living room, done the dishes, cleaned the draining board, worksurfaces and hob, emptied the bin and put a load of laundry in. I'm just going to dust the living room then that will probably be it.
Sorry to hear about your gerbil Buffy and sympathy to anyone who feels overlooked or taken advantage of.
Have a good day.0 -
Wow. Lease of life today!!
OH went to work at 7 and I have non-stopped from then until now.
My Monday tasks are hoover and dust every room and 2 stair cases from top to bottom and clean under the sofas. This has all been done along with much much more.
The tree has now been put away (takes much longer than you set out for!!)
All toys have been sorted and taken upstairs.
Pots have been done, all sides wipes round in Kitchen.
2 lots of washing done and dried.
Marks washed off dining room carpet that got there over the christmas period, and now waiting for my Asda to come and then put away.
So pleased with myself.
Is first day of my diet today and I have a lot to use.
Housework is so much better, fulfilling and cheaper than a gym!!!216/2018 (make ££ in 2018)

Hi Messies!
Buffy, sorry to hear about your gerbil, but hope the new term starts & goes well for you.x
Busy Messies, well done - I am not in this section today, the weather is SO demotivating me! (excuse?)
I have bullied myself into taking the tree down, put the fairy away upstairs where she lives with the knitted nativity folk, put the tree and shiny stuff away in caravan of Doom. One of these days I`ll have to have a good sort out in there, but not today.
DS has phoned to say he`ll be back this evening. So I need to make sure LR is really clutter-free so he won`t just dump his stuff in here & hope it goes un-noticed!
I`ve cleaned up in the kitchen too - last nights` meal didn`t yield enough leftovers for tonight (we pigged & had seconds!) so I`m going to make broccoli & Stilton soup - the chestnut stuffing and bacon were much more than we needed to cook the piece of turkey breast, so I wrapped the rest of the stuffing in bacon & cooked it separately. We`ll have that sliced with hot bread rolls with the soup. I`m defrosting a chicken leg (Freezer Item - Hooray!) for OH as he likes a visible piece of meat in a meal - doesn`t actually complain, just looks sad...
I`ve un-trashed the bathroom, just a quick tidy, not a proper clean, and fed WM a load, DGD`s bits & towels. Haven`t hung them up yet though...
I`ve also got a little half-leg of lamb out of freezer (YES!) to thaw for tomorrow. Weather is SO foul it`s no hardship to stay indoors & not go shopping!0 -
Hi all, I haven't managed to read back properly but want to say a big happy (belated) birthday to Dibuzz with hugs.
Also sorry to hear about your gerbil Buffy, even the smallest of furry friends is a very sad loss when they go.
Thanks again for thinking of me and telling me to look after myself... Emm, I know I was being a bit flippant with "all went a bit pnuemonia"but I was able to move around and function reasonably well when my temperature went down, so I didn't want to kind of "give in" if you know what I mean.
Speaking of not giving in, I did go to work today, and regretted it a bit. I feel woozy and a bit crap now... but the rubbish I was coughing up has cleared a bit. I'm going to see how I am in the morning and if I'm really not much better I'll stay off for a couple of days.
Sorry for blithering on about myself so much lately. I'm just skimming over the posts for now, so please accept my apologies for not being fully engaged with all that's going on.
Much love to all xxI believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Mine has been slow and steady today. Moved my desk last night and so have more space in one room. I moved all the computer bits that were in boxes so everything is together for once.
The bathroom was the target today and I have cleared the shelving unit, so all the extra toiletries are now in a clear over door shoe storage rack and I can now use them up. I found a box of soap bars so have plenty for years. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
Thanks for the birthday wishes and good thoughts for my dog.
She is home and ok but she couldn't lie down and was falling asleep sat up so I ended up wedging cushons around her to hold her up and lying on the floor next to her. I think I had about an hour's sleep so doubt much will get done today.
At least it's done now, they have taken the tumour and some mammary glands and lymph nodes.
Poor dog is so uncomfortable but has finally managed to lie in her basket so hopefully she will sleep now.
I had to laugh though, the vet rang me to see if I could pick her up earlier than arranged as she was trying to tunnel her way out :rotfl:
Hopefully I can start getting thing sorted out when she has recovered a bit.
I did manage to get all the Christmas stuff put in the loft though so that's a start14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Good Morning Messies!
Dibuzz - I`m so glad your dog is home and the op went ahead. My first couple of nights post-op I could have done with being wedged up with cushions too, couldn`t get comfy lying down!
Poor doggie, at least humans only have 2 boobs! I`m sure she`ll do well now, with your loving care - and just say `buggritt` to the housework for now!
JPS, I really hope you haven`t gone in today, if you felt a bit woozy yesterday that should be enough to tell you something!
I DO understand the not wanting to `give in`, but better to have a few days now than exacerbate the problem and ending up taking even more time off.
Frugalsod - I sorted loads of toiletry stuff a few months ago, but just as I thought they were going down nicely the usual influx of Christmas smellies/soapies has to be sorted now and added to the bathroom stash.
Messy-wise....
DS is home, and my strategy in LR has worked! There`s not a single item of his dumped in here, nor in the hall.
Kitchen - that`s a different tale! DS wasn`t hungry when OH & I had our meal, so I left his soup in the pan for him to reheat & help himself. Looks like he did it in the dark.....0 -
We've been to the vet's this morning to check her drains and they are still dripping a bit so we have to go back tomorrow.
The stitches will be in a bit longer this time with her already having a recent scar. I did mention to the vet that I'm going to be on my own with her for the next few visits but she said it's no problem they will just get a couple of nurses to help hold her.
She hasn't eaten any of her food but wolfed down a bit of leftover chicken and roast pork, I will give her a bit more later but don't want to give her too much at once.
Youngest son was supposed to be starting an 8 week work experience today (36 hours a week, unpaid) which he wasn't looking forward to as it's in a shop and not what he really wants to do but someone offered him 4 days work labouring a couple of hours away with accomodation and meals thrown in so he left at 6am. I'm a bit worried as he has never driven so far before, I'm sure he will be fine but you never stop worrying about them even when they are grown up.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Good luck to your son, hope he enjoys working away.
Haven't done anything today. Going to the charity shop this afternoon, where I am now allowed to use the till. Can it get any more exciting I wonder?
Have a good day.0
