My home is a mess

Hi all, after the success of NYE I am back to declare a messy house! Back to work and back to normal - after just 2 days in work! Not feeling good at all today so have unloaded/ reloaded dishwasher and that is all - problem is we have people coming round tomorrow. Eek. Quick clear round after work tomorrow I think - nothing's happening today!0

My, isn't it filling up in here! we'll have to get a bigger kettle...
Hello :waves: to everyone old and new.
re washing.
We have two baskets on the landing outside the bedrooms (one for white and one for colours) each basket holds enough clothes for one machine wash so when the basket is full it goes downstairs for the wash.
We don't have a laundry hamper as that was too much hassle, and stuff would end up loitering in the bottom of the basket until a specific 'wash' came up, and the two basket idea seems to be the easiest way rather than have a hamper/basket in each room.
With 2 boys and HWTHMBO you can imagine the washing machine runs most nights (on E7 leccy)!just in case you need to know:

Hello Messies.
Well it is even worse today but I have just moved a huge pile of boxes so I can rearrange my desk creating more room, so a little extra chaos is likely. Hopefully I will be finished by morning. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
Oh Dibuzz, big hugs (and happy birthday). I know where you are coming from I really do.
I made fish and chips for tea. There I was rushing about getting it all ready (on my own as usual) and DS1 walks in. Oh will you do some bread and butter I asks. What he cries, what! I have just picked up my washing off my bedroom floor and put it in the laundry basket.
Oh steady on then I says, you might injure yourself if you do too much at once. You had better sit down and I will do the bread and butter. He did it - but with lots of huffing and puffing and moaning.
So washing load no. 4 of the weekend is on. I reluctantly wash the footie kit for OHs team and it is my mission to get it washed, dried and back in the kit bag by Monday night so it isnt hanging around all week. This is where my heated airer is a godsend.
Now off to check the online banking (deep breaths needed) and get things ready for morning. Oh and I need to empty the dishwasher too rather than leave it until tomorrow.0 -

OOO happy Birthday Dibuzz XX
I finished the conservatory, it looks brilliant. am shattered and this holiday, have done the living room, spare room and now the conservatory.
Sadly I found one of my gerbils dead tonight which rather put a dampener on things so not exactly buzzing with the thrill of it all. Maybe tomorrow

Its a wee bit late in the day but Happy Birthday Dibuzz!
Before my birthday (in September) OH was bleating about not being able to afford to buy me a present so I said he didn't have to - he could valet my car instead of buying something. And he didn't buy me a card because (he said) I don't really like cards (while that is true, it was actually because he forgot which he admitted later!). Over the christmas break, he started to have a moan about the state of my car and then managed to stop himself... perhaps because he remembered I'm still waiting for my birthday present! The car has to go in for a service this week so I'm hoping it might stop raining long enough for me to at least empty the rubbish out, even if it doesn't get cleaned!
As for the house, LR looks really bare without the xmas tree. Usually comes down right after new year but I really liked having the real one this year so left it as long as possible. Went to my ma's this afternoon and OH snuck it out while I was gone. Gonna wait until xmas eve next year to try to get a cheap real tree again as its so much nicer than our artificial thing.
Rest of the house isn't going to be reported on tonight as its too messy to speak about. My excuse is that there is man-flu hovering around this house but the reality is I just couldn't face it this weekend. I'm gonna try to keep on top of things during the week so that it doesn't take up my whole weekend but that might be wishful thinking!0 -
Forgot to say happy birthday Dbuzz. Take care.0

Lol, this reminded me of my Daughter last week, one night I asked her to switch the microwave on for me to heat the beans up and the next night I asked her to pop the jacket potatoes in the oven, her reply was..............I have pretty much cooked dinner every night this week! She was serious as well, fell about laughing at her and said I was 'happy' to do as much cooking as she had if she was willing to take over the jobs that prevented me from turning on the microwave and putting the spuds in the oven.
Both DD's back to school today (can't say I won't enjoy the peace and quiet) and DH off to work at 5.15am this morning. I got up with DH as unable to sleep so planning to pop into the kitchen and start a bit of a tidy up, once the girls are up I will go and retrieve some washing, need to Hoover the downstairs today and mop the kitchen floor (too much rain and dogs who won't wipe their feet when they come in).
Downstairs toilet needs a quick wipe around and I need to dust the living room.
Didn't do much yesterday but did cook a roast, cleaned the kitchen, pressure cooked the chicken carcass ready for soup base and make sandwiches ready for today. Youngest DD decided to make her lunch just as I was going to bed last night so have come down to a bit of a mess and an unwashed chopping board!
Need to pace myself today as ME can be a pain, might not get all the jobs done but hoping to get at least 50% sorted.
Hope you all have a good day0
