Good luck to your son, hope he enjoys working away.

Haven't done anything today. Going to the charity shop this afternoon, where I am now allowed to use the till. Can it get any more exciting I wonder?

    Have a good day.

    Good Morning Messies!

Frugalsod - I sorted loads of toiletry stuff a few months ago, but just as I thought they were going down nicely the usual influx of Christmas smellies/soapies has to be sorted now and added to the bathroom stash.
    Morning Messies,

I am planning lots of travelling and the ones I have are absolutely perfect for travelling with. They are small and being solid should not affect the liquids limit on airlines. :)

Hi all - busy day and have now opened the Christmas Baileys - hic! DS1 poured me a very large measure and I told him this has to last, its my one bottle a year.

I have been sorting out my wardrobe and realised that I have got loads of clothes that I never wear. I tend to put on the same stuff every day for work and I need to have a trying on session and start wearing some of the nice stuff I have already. I tend to blend into the background at work and dont often wear skirts and dresses although there is no reason not too.

House is tidyish. DS1 has been sleeping badly and it seems to catch up with me mid afternoon but I just keep plodding on, if I sleep during the day it doesnt do me any good. He has been to work with his Dad today so fingers crossed he is tired and sleeps better.

Hope your son has got on OK Dibuzz - and it sounds like things are improving with the doggie.

Well off to kick the youngest off his XBox and make him wind down a bit before bed!
  • Hello all!

Hope everyone's ok, i haven't had chance to read the posts!

Well, i've done a bit of housework this week. Changed beds, hoovered everywhere and tidied the kitchen. Been to the auction today to sell some calves. Going to sort supper next before i do the school run.

  • Hi Messies!

Alec E - If I ever had to change jobs that is the one thing about shop work that would terrify me - the modern tills! I manage to upset them just by being a customer sometimes!!

Dibuzz - I don`t blame your DS opting for the away job - 36hr/week unpaid, maybe ok for a fortnight but 8 weeks sounds more like slave labour than work experience! Hope he gets on ok. Also hoping for update on the dog...

Well done those who`ve been doing stuff. I need to have a bit of a clothes sort out too, and a paper cull. Soon, but not today!
    Today -
I went to Mr T & Morrisons, just for a few things and a browse, and did NOT get carried away in either, and have put away shopping. I did get 2 pieces of pork tenderloin im M`s (£3 each), which we don`t see everyday, especially at that price. (I will use them with puff pastry, cheesy stuffing and parma-type ham which I have in already). They`re well in date but could fit in a freezer now....
DS has man-flu, so tonight we`re having chicken stew. I`ve defrosted a couple of big chicken legs and a few thighs, (still doing well using freezer items here!) and had a rummage in fridge - used up tired celery, half a butternut squash, half a swede and some nearly bendy carrots. Plus a leek and a bit of leftover roasted veg, and I`ll throw in the remains of last night`s savoy cabbage later too. This is the only way to get DS eating veg!
I`ve also taken Littly-dog for a walk and a play with her throw-toy - first chance we`ve had weather-wise this year, but tired us both out!

Hi all, just popping in. Have an afternoon off today so bobbed round the shops taking things back and getting some boring bits n bobs, online shopping order has come and some some washing and ironing. Feeling very tired now so weighing up having a proper rest vs getting more done to make the rest of the week easier.

Dibuzz - best of luck with the dog.

Yorkshire Lass - I know exactly what you mean about wearing the same things for work, sometimes it's just whatever comes to hand first and it's quickest when you know what goes together. A few months ago I started to make an effort once a week, so wearing a skirt or a dress. Must do that again, it worked ok.

Doggy is doing ok she slept last night after realising she can lie down.
Her drains are still dripping a bit so I have to take her back on Friday. It was hard work today trying to hold on to her now she's feeling a bit better, the vet was trying to put some cream on a very red patch and she was trying to get off the table. I'm hoping it's one of the nice vets on Friday, this one is very abrupt and doesn't seem to like dogs much.
Apart from some washing and dishes nothing has been done as she wants to follow me everywhere. Ive put the pet gate back up to stop her going up the stairs, at least it is getting some use and I'm glad I kept it when I gave the other baby stuff away.

I admit that is one of my weaknesses. Though I make it myself. It costs about £5-6 a bottle, and making it fresh means it has to be drunk within a couple of weeks. In fact I make 1.25L at a time and my mum loves the half bottle that I give her every couple of weeks. It is my main source of alcohol intake so not excessive.

Hi messies! I love Baileys but I've managed to avoid getting any this year, sherry is a different matter though - for someone who doesn't really drink, I do like a nip of sherry :o

I'm feeling a bit better, didn't go in to work yesterday or today and just rested. I'm now fed up of resting - will try going in again tomorrow, I feel much less sore in my chest now. Not the start to 2014 I would have liked, but onwards and upwards from here I hope!

Glad to hear doggie is getting better Dibuzz and love to all xx
