Happy birthday for yesterday Rigs enjoy your contemplation day - we all need them. Welcome aboard all newly joined messies.
Well I have done v. little in the house today, just moved out some recycling ready for collection.
Am happy that I now have grass rather than a potential hay meadow now the mower is fixed and I can use it without too much effort. Also strimmed until line ran out and now can't find new spool that we bought  another reason for further decluttering.
DD is cooking tonightbut will go and tidy round before she starts so I have a clean slate for tomorrow. Am hoping to start work later this week as long as my ECRB has come through (delays due to numerous holidays in April) so need to get order out of the current chaos. Think I've earned a nice long hot bath tonight to fend off aching back.
Have a good evening fellow messies.:)0 -
Happy birthday Rigsby!!
Yesterday was a good day for me, but today the clutter is starting to creep back onto my kitchen counters and my living room is starting to look like a tumbleweed farm again (one of my dogs is double coated so sheds a LOT)Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

OMG where on earth has this weekend gone??....My little girl has been in pain with her abcess, ive been struggling to keep anything down and my son has badly sprained his ankle when he landed funny in a throw at judo on friday! Thankfully my 1 year old has been at her nanas all weekend and only came back this afternoon!
On the plus side i have managed to empty my sons bedroom, fully paint 2 walls, do 1 coat on another wall and sort out all his toys and clothes! The 2nd coat and the last wall will be done in the morning.
However my house is an absolute bombsitei wish i could at least say it was tidy....but it really isnt at the min, well my living room almost is and my toilet is, i dont even want to go into any other room!. I cant move in my bedroom due to having my sons bed and wardrobe and drawers in it (aswell as my stuff) my kitchen just needs a bomb setting off in it....oh wait that already happened!! lol I cant wait till the kids go to bed so i can get even just a little bit done.
With all this tlk of anemia its reminded me to make an appointment at my dr's tomorrow. Ive suffered fro it for years, ive had the injections in the past and ive also had to have iron transfusions. I can generally tell when my iron is low again and just put myself on the tablets.....but ive been taking them for the last 3 weeks with no difference, so im thinking its time for another transfusion!
Hope you have all had a good weekend0 -

Craftgranny, thanks for the advice re the debt collectors. I must admit it is really beginning to get me down. I keep phoning and them and writing to them and telling them that Mr X does not live here, but they keep sending letters threatening bailiffs. I worry that I will get home one day to find bailiffs have broken in to my house! Can they do that?
Jasper, welcome!!!0 -
Back from a weekend in the New Forest and washing is already in the machine - I hope you are impressed:p
I have tomorrow off as well, so hopefully will all be dried and ironed during the day.
I really do need to start on the small bedroom, aka computer room or study, but usually known as the dump - filing to do, letters to write and the shredder will be in overdrive
All the best x0 -
I confess that we (HWTHMBO and I) have sorted the ground floor of the house out this weekend... because I impounded both boys' DS gamethings and hid them somewhere high up and safe.... about a month ago, and I forgot where I put them! (blush).
So we've taken the house apart this weekend to find them.
I've found LOADS of things that *ought* to go to the charity shop so they are in bags, in the boot of my car ready to go. I've cleared my desk and surrounding areas, and looked at music magpie for the DVDs etc that I have hanging around. I went through the medicine cupboard and put all like meds together (who knew I had so many antihistamine, and I don't think we're going to run out of pain reliever or decongestant anytime soon) AND you can see the top of the fridge now!
HWTHMBO has done his desk, the front room, the utility room, the cupboard under the stairs, and the kitchen! and laughed at me when he asked me to switch off the Henry and I couldn't remember where the switch is. *blushes*
Oh, and HWTHMBO found the DS gamethings in the airing cupboard!
Usually we go away on holiday (UK) and my DM comes over and goes through my house like a dose of salts, only this time we're having a staycation. I wonder if she'll still come over whilst we're out?
Still to do:
list motorcycles on eBay
sort out stuff in conservatory (aka dumping ground) into eBay/Emmaus/netmums/throwaway
list DS toys on eBay/netmums
send postcard collection off to hearing dogs for deaf people
send CDs/DVDs to Music Magpie (amazon not worth it and eBay pain in BTM)
send off printer cartridges to tesco recycling
take 'stuff' to Emmaus
sort out clothes for DS1 & DS2 - list outgrown clothes on netmums
go through 'memory boxes' and scan tickets/books etc onto PC/EHD
go through artwork and scan onto PC/EHD
I fear that these jobs will still be outstanding by this time next year.
does anyone recommend an external hard drives (EHD) for storing pictures etc on?
Thanks to everyone on here you are an inspiration!
