my house isnt much better , I have 2 teenage DDs, one is ultra tidy and organised , the other :eek: her room is a tip there are clothes all over the floor clean mixed with dirty i feari have spent many hours cleaning it up , thinking on the lines that if its tidy she will be able to keep on top of it ... but alas no its a tip within hours of me de- sloughing it
i shut the door on it now . the problem is it spreads to the rest of the house and so its a constant battle.
DH is a hoarder , particularly of books. i bought him a k!ndle for his birthday to try and stop the book piles in their tracks
today i have cleaned the kitchen and done the cupboard under the stairs . my big freezer is housed in there and i can now get into it without having to scale great heights of carp0 -
Rigsby - Happy Birthday and well done on getting the DW - hope you had a lovely day
Jasper - Welcome and hi - ignore your OH - aren't they horrible sometimes!! Just do baby steps and you'll soon notice a difference, look after the bit that you manage to do on a daily basis so it remains clear [much easier once its clear to keep it clear] and keep coming back on here and sharing what you have done - no matter how small the job its, you've still done it
My kiddies are 8 and 11 and about once a week I bag up all their carp in carrier bags and dump it in their rooms - they have to put it away or else I go in there a week later and bin it - plebtyu of warning about binning it soon gets them moving
Another bit of advice that someone posted {Valli} is to never go upstairs empty handed - it works
I'm also a commercial break cleaner - dusting, picking up etc
Wow - hope thats not coming across as preaching - its meant to be supportive but written words are never as good as spoken - have a hug [hug] and know that you are of value to us x
Been to the car boot this morning so kiddies have bought themselves some carp - nothing for me except a "How tro Crochet" DVD as I'm wanting to learn how to do it
Have a nice day everyone

I haven't been on for a few days so i have some catching up to do with all the posts.
Well i'm happy, it was my birthday yesterday:bdaycake: and with the money i got and what i'd been saving i got a new dishwasher:D, my old one died about 4 months ago and i had really been missing it, i was so excited, i found whatever i could to put in it just to be able to use it :rotfl:. The old dishwasher is sitting in my living room, i put it on ebay last night and it has a bid on it already :money:.
I started cleaning the living room yesterday but still have a very long way to go yet. Hopefully i will get some more done this afternoon.
Onwards and upwards
Rigs
Happy belated birthday Rigsby:j
Enjoy your new dishwashermust admit one of the best things I have ever brought
I used to spend forever at the sink as my lot never washed up but now they will load the dishwasher (even unload it if I ask but I do have to ask
) mine is only a slimline one as I didn't have room for a full size but it work out fine for us
I have just spent just over an hour editing my ebay picsI didn'y realise how much I have to list, oh well at least the pic's had been taken
Take it steady eveyone and will catch up laterGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Afternoon fellow Messies.
Jasper, welcome to the messy corner!
Rigsby, Happy Belated Birthday. Hope you had a good day!
I've had a few days in contemplation mode, but I've been busy this morning. Washing's on the line, washing up's been done (well, the stuff from last night/this morning), dinner prepped (I've made chicken kievs, a messy business and now a load more washing up to be done! And I cleaned the microwave. It was really manky. Trouble is, I've discovered that the paint inside has come off in places leaving bare metal. Think I might have to get a new one.
Regarding teens, I don't go near sons room. I did once, wore rubber gloves too, but retreated when I found some things I didn't really want to see (at least he and his g/f are being safe, is all I'll say). I also don't do his washing, so consequently it doesn't get done very often!0 -
Hello everyone and welcome to the new messy people.
Iv compleated the washing now Im off to put it all away. Rigsby happy birthday!
Jasper your in the right place for support in the cleaning department. As everyone says babysteps are best . I find that if I write a list of things that need doing it helps. Also make sure you have all the cleaning stuff you need to hand. Start with one room at a time. Even if you only do one part of the room in a hour or so congratulate yourself as its a start.
Teenagers , well my son has cleaned his bedroom including the dust. He has a new bed to go in so he had to. All of his clothes are washed and dried and ready to be put away. Hopeully he will try to keep it tidy.0 -

Feeling really pleased with myself,Iv put the washing away, four baskets, mopped the floors, bleached the sides in the kitchen, put todays wash in,gave our room a quick tidy, cleaned the bathroom and washed the dog.
The tea is on spag bolog, and the dog has been fed. He has four sirloin steaks!. Oh mum brought them down for him as his dad insisted that he was sick after eating one. There was nothing wrong with them but I could not feed the to the family just incase. His dad is a strange person I wont say anymore.
Glad Rigsby that your resting and so you should on your birthday.0 -

Hello Jasper
Happy Birthday Rigsby.
I have done a little bit today. I potted on some toms and a cucumber, and planted some lettuce and carrots. I planted a load of carrots earlier but after a good start they nearly all shriveled up. I was really cross as I usually do well with carrots.
I have also put together a wardrobe which was delivered yesterday, but now need to deal with the huge box sitting in my hall.
I hope you are all having a nice weekend.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%
