My home is a mess

Hi Messies!
I`m home and Thankyou All for the kind thoughts and wishes you`ve posted. So far, not too sore just mostly tired as I didn`t sleep much last night, but surgeon came to see me 8am & seems happy with his work. Won`t get results/next appt till mid January, but taking things easy in the meantime - probably starting with a nap this afternoon. Will catch up properly later, whilst delegating chores to menfolk & DGD!0 -
Good to hear from you Emm, make sure they all wait on you14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140

So glad you're home Emm, relax and enjoy being waited on!
I'm halfway through the main bedroom clean and still doing so well I can't quite believe it. I'd normally give up at this point and have to sleep for a bit but I'm having a quick coffee break with a turkey sandwich (oh yes... I slow cooked a turkey breast yesterday) and eager to get back and finish the cleaning.
I've also washed most of the stuff lying around in the boxroom, and done the doormats/floor towels as well. When I've finished the bedroom I'll settle down for a serious bit of loafing around and eating too much with a real fire lit
I know it might seem a bit weird to some people, but I love being on my own, even at Christmas. I am lucky enough to have some lovely family to visit, and a few dear friends who understand me, but too much socialising leaves me feeling worn out.
Very blustery here, but we have been lucky and escaped the most damaging storms. Hope you are all safe and comfortable, and have a very happy Christmas.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Emm, thank you for taking the time to let us know. I hope you get thoroughly spoiled. I'm off to brave the weather cycling down to the sorting office, as the postie didn't deliver parcels yesterday but tried at 6.50 am...Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0

It's funny, my eldest was on about this the other day. He's very like me, prefers to stay at home and doesn't like crowds/ busy places. After his work Christmas meal everyone was going on to a club and couldn't understand what he meant when he said he'd enjoyed it but had enough and was exhausted.
For some of us, being with other people is hard work.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Thanks for that Tinwhistler and Dibuzz - I'm always surprised when I mention my "condition" (I sometimes think I may be one of the older undiagnosed Asperger's generation) that so many people understand and feel similarly or to some extent challenged by being in company for any length of time.
I not only finished the bedroom, but hoovered the stairs and all downstairs as well. I don't think there's any danger of me losing my messy status altogether though - the spare room of doom and the cupboard of doom can testify to that!
Curled up now with a nice glass of sherry and some cheesy Christmas tvI believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
