  • Morning all!!

Well, our tree is UP!! We always have a real tree (not very mse, but hey-ho!) it got delivered yesterday so poor mr farmer dragged it into LR this morning and we've just decorated it! Smells lovely in there now. I did a quick flit round with the hoover before tree came in, and that's all the housework i'm going to do today! Ha!

I really should have made a start on lunch by now.......

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday!

I love the smell of a real tree.

I've been to Tesco for a few bits and done some washing, still not feeling very motivated and my hands are really sore at the moment but I'm just doing bits and bobs as I go along.

I've made an early start today. I've been awake since before 2 and came down at 3.
Daughter was late home last night (football after work) so I didn't see her but she's left her uniform outside her room for me to wash. I've already emptied the last lot out onto the radiators for when they come on later and put her stuff in.
No idea if I'll be able to hang it out yet but I've started putting the maiden in eldest's room when he's at work and get a lot dry that way instead of tripping over it down here.

I spent yesterday afternoon crocheting snowmen to put over chocolate oranges then decided to try doing a minion one which youngest loved but wanted a santa hat for it so I made that too. They actually look ok, normally things go wrong if I try to just make it up as I go along.

No real plans for today apart from picking my prescription up and more washing.

    good morning.

I have plenty to do today, just the regular stuff, nothing exciting. I might make the mantel a bit more festive and do some quilting. We might get a real tree this time round, never had one before but DH really wants one.

    Have a good day.
  • Good Morning - is it me, or are we all getting earlier on here?

Dibuzz & Tattycath, well done on the laundry. I need to do some today, we go from not enough for a WM load one day to suddenly piles the next.

Dibuzz, your creative crochet sounds lovely, and a fun way to start getting in seasonal mood too, doing something you like doing.

Alec E, I like the sight & smell of real trees, but have stuck with fakes for decades as I hate watching them die - I don`t like having cut flowers in the house either, same reason. Daft, really, as I`m happy to burn logs on the fire and eat fresh living veg!!!

I`m `grounded` today, left the car at garage last night so it could be sorted out/winter check this morning. Had a few iffy starts recently which weren`t normal. Just waiting for trusty garage man to ring when it`s ready, so listening out for the phone till then. Henry can come out to play later.

Hi folks. It feels like I've been MIA for a while - from life, not just this thread! Had a couple of busy, out-of-the-ordinary weekends lately which have been lovely but have completely thrown all attempts at routine out of the window. And work is busy as usual and a few out-of-the-office meetings and a day working from home looking after poorly OH (big baby that he is - only needed a trip to the pharmacy not the hospital thankfully) have disrupted the Mon-Fri routine too. Throw in a couple of nights on the pop for christmas socials (which always knocks me out of kilter for a few days when I over-indulge) and I feel like I've been a complete space-cadet for weeks now!

I've been keeping up with the thread but haven't managed to post, largely because I've made absolutely no effort to even acknowledge the mess in my house let alone act on it! Laundry is happening at random at the moment when one of us runs out of stuff and puts an emergency load on. Kitchen floor got swept on Saturday because it was unpleasantly crunchy underfoot but desperately needs mopping at some point. Bedding is desperate for changing if only I can get on top of the other laundry loads. And as for cleaning. forget it!

Emm - glad to hear they picked up signs "by accident". The gods were definitely smiling on you on that day so fingers crossed that they continue to work in your favour with the treatment.

Dibuzz - if you're getting into the festive mood by now, care to share some this way? I was well up for it a couple of months back but now I'm feeling completely jaded. My bro not coming for xmas day has switched off interest in "the big day", work is poo which is spoiling all the work events. I'm really just counting down the days till I get time off work. Its OK as long as I'm allowed to just enjoy stuff for the bits that I enjoy but tag "christmas" onto it as well and the forced jollity spoils the bit I want to do (please can I just enjoy a nice meal out and pleasant conversation without having to pull crackers and wear silly paper hats please?!)

This weekend is supposed to be a quiet weekend and between now and then there is nothing but old-fashioned straight-forward routine planned so I'm hoping this time next week I'll have my mojo back and be back on top of everything.

At least I've nearly finished the present buying!
  • Afternoon!!

Monday AGAIN!! I've been at my friends house this morning (super tidy!) making things for the school christmas craft fair tomorrow. Came home to make lunch for mr farmer and mr farmer jnr and i'm now making shortbread biscuits to bag up for our stall.

Washing machine is on, full of tea towels and aprons, then a load of mr farmers work clothes to go in. I must do some ironing this week, we've started wearing creasey clothes again which i hate - even though it's my fault for not getting the ironing done!!

Tennis tonight so we'll be late home, spag bol sauce made so mr farmer just has to cook the pasta for when we get back.

Hope everyone is having a good day!!

    I wouldn't go that far :o
I enjoyed yesterday but struggling again today, I was fine this morning but have spent the last half an hour sat here crying.
I did offer to take youngest 2 to BHS for dinner as they like going there but daughter said she was too sore after football and couldn't be bothered, son wasnt bothered anyway. Now they have both gone to their dad's so no idea how long they will be.

I've spent an hour sorting out my wool stash and re-sealing the vacuum bags so at least that's something and I'm on the 4th load of washing.

  • Emm, I used to be like that with fresh flowers and the idea of a real tree then someone said to me that if that was all I had to worry about I needed something else to do. They were of course right so I let it go. I tie myself up in knots trying to do the right thing. So I understand your viewpoint. Someone takes real trees away and they do something to do with the sand dunes with them.

I'm at the charity shop today, it's come around so quickly. I wouldn't say I'm looking forward to it but I'm not wishing I didn't have to either so that's probably good.

Just doing the basic bits and bobs before I head off there. Have a good day everyone, hope you're on the happier side today dibuzz.
