  • I was just making the general point about "living" v having tidy house. There's so much of the "dull women have tidy houses" stuff doing the rounds I was responding to that kind of thing.

I agree Alec, I know in the brief periods I have been tidy it has be lovely to wrap presents quickly (where the !!!! the sellotape goes I have no clue) find keys, find stamps, my scarf. more than one glove. my shoes....headache tablets. That is what I aim to have again. time and not panicking! sighs. bit of a long way off at the moment.

sorry I have been awol for so long. work is busy, currently ill. house has one good room! the living room. It looks so nice. the shed is full of stuff we don't yet have a home for.

It is as ever a work in progress.

Hugs all round folks, sorry to just pop in randomly!

He's home!:j He got here quite late friday night, I let the little ones stay up. They thought it was their nan and grandad so they hid in the kitchen. When they ran in dad was sitting on the floor! Naughty mummy had tricked them!
He didn't care about the mess, he made loads bringing all his stuff back. I wouldn't swop his boots and gorilla box messing up the hallway for a clean house at all!:D

this made me cry, in a good way! Lovely to read, hope you are having fun :)

It was snowing here this morning but not for long and didn't stick.
I should have gone food shopping really but couldn't summon up the energy to do it, I did manage to clean eldest's room out with his help though.
Daft dog and I slept upstairs for the first time since her op last night, well she slept and I just lay awake most of the night and realised I prefer it down here as I'm nearer to the kettle!
I seem to spend most of the day fighting to stay awake but can't sleep for more than a couple of hours when I go to bed.
I've got 2 bags of books ready to take to the charity shop, will probably take them tomorrow when I do the shopping I should have done today :o

I realised it's probably time to close my bedroom window when the curtains almost blew off the rail at 4 am
I've been lying there for ages listening to the wind and rain and wishing I'd done the shopping yesterday, not looking forward to going out in that but it needs doing.
I think the dog basket can go back in the shed today, she hasn't been in it much since being allowed to jump onto the sofa again and now it's getting colder she likes to snuggle up to us.

  • Morning gang!!

Hope everyone is well & keeping warm!

My sciatica is slightly better today, i got a full nights sleep :j last night and woke up feeling much better! Still in a lot of pain but can get around a bit more. I'm helping to run a 'christmas cake club' at primary school tonight, i've told the other people that are helping that I'll be there but won't be able to do much apart from walk around and keep an eye on things. There's no way i'd miss it, i love showing the kids how to make things!

How's everyone else getting on with their christmas prep? I've got giftcards to buy for nieces and nephews and a few bits and pieces for my parents hampers then i'm finished.

    Jxx

So far Christmas prep has extended to buying a packet of stuffing and talking about sherry.

We're going out to a thing I really want to do (see my favourite ever band for the first time) in a place I hate visiting (Manchester). If I could be teleported there then that would be wonderful! Haven't done a single thing in the house today. I did tons yesterday before my shift at the charity shop though so everywhere looks fine.

Have a great day, hope it's not too chilly.

Way more advanced than my christmas prep then!

I'm in the mood for cancelling christmas this year. OH and I don't have money for presents for each other. For my birthday I asked him to valet my car and I'm still waiting for that so not really holding out much hope of any other zero-cost gift for christmas. I was hoping my family would come to our house for christmas day as its the first time we've had a proper living room to play host, but my brother has decided to go to his in-laws so that the kids (4 & 3) can play with their cousins and their toys. Probably still play host to my mum and my gran but it won't be the big family do that I was hoping for. And as a result, I've just lost all interest.

I've been back at work for 3 days now (well technically 2.5) and its as though my week off never happened. House is once again a complete tip and the work stuff is building up again. A few things went sour at work while I was off in ways that I was trying to warn my boss about so at least now he's listening to me when I tell him I think we need to approach things differently - but that just means I have more to do and less time to spend keeping on top of the mess at home!

I'd be quite happy to ignore Christmas too, really can't face it this year.
