Oh no where have we all gone have the fairy people been and cleaned all our homes, lol. Its so quiet on here of late.
Iv not done very much the last day or two apart from some washing and the tea yesterday as OH is sick.
Hope everyone is well. Hugs.x0 -
I decluttered a box from the hallway that had various bits of carp in and shredded / recycled some work-related paperwork from my old teaching job, that I left 2 years ago. The oldest bit of paper (a photocopy of a register, which I would have made for a pay claim) was dated Sept 2006.
I now have a nice clear bit of floor where the storage box used to be.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Things are not going well here, I need to get back into gear and start again.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140

I am still here, getting over a bout of self pity followed by a cold.
My depression always gets worse about now but this time I am not letting it beat me. I have been to the docs for an immediate meds review and saw a different doctor and have come out of there feeling more positive. Going back in 3 weeks for a follow up appointment. :T
Today is a scheduled day off so I am going to battle through the housework, then have a potter for some Christmas shopping and some groceries.
Hope all are well and that your only demons are the trick or treaters tomorrow night.

Hi everyone,
I'm here. My laptop died but DH has managed to bring it back to life! Haven't been doing much around the house though as we've been out and about watching the Rugby League World Cup.
Well done for dealing with the box mcculloch, 2006 isn't that long ago! Gilly is right, 15 minutes chunks are the way forward when you can't get going. When I found things tough knowing I could stop if I wanted to after 15 minutes was enough to get me started some days.
I think an hour would get things looking ok. The coffee and dining tables are covered in my quilting stuff, there is so much laundry it's unreal, I know I'm safe to confess here that I still haven't done anything with the spare room since our gues left a couple of weeks ago. DH has been taking care of the washing up thankfully so that's all done - if I was in charge of that I think we'd be out of cups by now.0 -
I'm the same gilly, the long dark days make things much worse. The thought of Christmas isnt helping either, I'd love to fast forward and miss it out completely.
I've got my son's car today so I think I will take some books to the charity shop and get some shoppping done.
I enjoyed watching the rugby at weekend, we don't have sky sports so I don't get to watch it much these days.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Hello everyone Im glad to see people back. Thought I was the only one left on earth with a messy house, lol.

Gilly do you have a light that mimics day light . They are supposed to help with depression in the winter months. Hugs x.
mcculloch29 well done on your declutter. Iv found paper from the 90s so your in date, lol.
Dibuzz here is a challenge to get you going , find five things to throw, five to give away and five to put away. Ill do the same and will list.
Emm sorry forgot to say well done on your declutter. We all seem to have corners that grow mess. Well I do anyway.
Take care everyone.0 -
Hi Messies!
I agree about the 15-minute target for cleaning/tidying, though I usually go for 20 minute binges using the timer. I`m always surprised how much I can get done in 20 mins. It`s very encouraging if you want to do a bit more, and it`s reassuring if you CBA!
Though I spent nearly a whole day trying to replace a light bulb and clearing the computer corner as a result! I cursed it at the time, but now it`s clear the whole room looks better for it. Either way works, pick a small corner and deal with it till it`s done, or short bursts of timed cleaning.
We`ll get there!
Chez-Emm....
Back to `normal` this week - DS is home again, I`m back at work. House not as bad as it normally gets in these circumstances, not yet, at least! Had my new rota which is more `long days` than short ones, which sounds grim but really means either a whole day at work or a Whole Day Off, so I`m glad - work is a bit manic again, but I do enjoy it!
I called in at farmshop on my way home yesterday, and they had what I`d been waiting for - Sprouts on the Stalk! (Guess what we ate last night?) Now I have 2 days off, but so far nothing `urgent` except a couple of WM loads and the basics of cooking/kitchen clearing.
Weather is nice (for now) so I decided to clean the bird feeders... fighting to dismantle one of them, all seized up, but managed to break it, so now I have to go and buy a replacement. Grrr....0 -
Well inspied by the sunny weather here today i decided to get stuck in as i have days leave , yay :ji managed to fill two large binbags and one box of old videos , tried everywhere to get rid .sell, etc anyhow they have now gone to the tip. five big boxes of books to the charity shop ,still got loads more to get rid of but i feel pleased with my self. having a clothes flinging session whilst listening to music filled three bin bags to take to place for cash it was all going so well until i caught sight of myself in the mirror oh the hair...... i look like dog from "dog the bounty hunter " not a good look for a 52 year old time for a change me thinks...
Wouldnt it be nice to think oh i have a day off i think i will get my hair cut..or get my nails done. No ! what am i doing de -scuzzing the house. B****r it iam off for a shower and with the dosh i get for the clothing iam treating myself to a coffee and maybe a cake.then back for some more de scuzzing whilst iam on a roll, it wont last of course but i am going for it .Wish me luck xx0
