  • Hi Dibuzz - We have 2 large wardrobes in spare room of Doom, and we`re the same as you, can only open one door at a time, have to slide a crate of computer bits around to choose another door! Well done on the room sorting, persevere and make it `nice` for yourself, it`s your space - try to think of it as self-indulgence rather than a chore.

I know how you feel dibuzz, I've had plenty of days where I've been tidying lots but then I feel like I'm just turning round and around and not getting anywhere. It's the bad bit before things start to get better.
  • Morning all!

Beautiful day here, i've just cleaned the bathroom :j :j :j

off to make lunch for hungry farmers now......................
    It's a farmers life for me......:j
  • Hi Messies!

We had sunshine here yesterday for most of the day too. (Back to showery again today though.) I did manage to do a bit in the garden, including clearing a small paved patch near the apple trees (again!), and picking up loads of windfalls. I got 2 washing up bowls of decent apples, and flung loads of squishy or damaged ones ones down the garden into the plum-tree undergrowth. Where they`d fallen they would just get trodden on when OH is filling the feeders, but at least where I flung `em there`s a better chance that the wildlife can get them.
Then I went visiting DD, with a bowl of apples for her to use up, and the other bowl I gave to DGD`s mama when she dropped DGD off here later. (Ive still got a fruit-box of picked apples in caravan of Doom, and that`s as much as we`re likely to use up.) When I was apple-flinging Littly dog had a wonderful time chasing apples, but I`m glad she didn`t try bringing them back!
Well, that`s a little less waste. Also, I`ve managed to use up the thawed stuff except for some of the meat from the ham hocks, but that`s cooked and will keep in fridge a day or 2 longer yet.
Half-term started early here, so I have DGD a day extra! Lovely! We`re going shopping in a bit, (£6 off £30 spend at Sainsbugs voucher I don`t want to waste) then tonight she`s making pizza.
As my week off draws to an end I keep thinking it`s Saturday today, with DGD being here...then I remember it`s still only Friday and it feels like I`ve gained an extra day. Nice.

Have a nice Friday everyone. x

Ill have to try and do some housework even if its sitting on a chair otherwise Ill end up going mad in a pig sty.

    Hi Messies!
Snookey, steady on - first you break your foot, then you bend your cast....leave that housework alone in case you do any more damage!!!
(OH has just said `is your chair insured?`)
Hope everyone`s having a decent weekend out there - my week off is drawing to an end with no major house stuff to show for it, but it`s not too bad, laundry`s all up to date, and I still feel I`ve had an `extra` day somehow!
Yesterday went shopping with DGD, so today 2we`ve stayed well away from shops and in a dry phase this afternoon taken Littly dog for a long walk and a bit of `training`...much enjoyed by all. The cat was sleeping in Littly`s bed earlier, and the poor daft dog looked so horrified but didn`t dare try to do anything about it, so we thought she deserved a bit of fun as a reward!
I`m a bit concerned about the storm forecast for tomorrow night, but glad I`m not on the early Monday, and DS won`t be travelling home till late on Monday either.
    Stay safe folks. x

All I've done is the washing and watch the rugby.
I need a few bits for youngest's lunchboxes but might leave it till tomorrow. He wants pasta in some sort of sauce instead of butties so I'm thinking of just making a huge batch and freezing it in portions rather than do it fresh every morning, do you think that would work out ok? I'm a bit rubbish in the kitchen.

  • Hi all

Busy day listing stuff on ebay, bit of garden tidying (slimy yucky leaves decluttered off the patio) and a bit of general shuffling stuff around.

Doesnt really look like I have done much but there you go. Going to be out quite a bit tomorrow so I can see its going to be Monday morning before I know it!

Oh and Dibuzz I am not sure about freezing pasta, it always goes nasty when I have tried but you could certainly do the sauce then just boil some pasta on a morning.

Right better go and get the washing in before it gets wet again!

Emm no the chair is not insured though going by by track record :rotfl:
Iv decided to hire a knee scooter to get around with oh not coping pushing the chair. Its rubbish having to be pushed as he missed all the isles I wanted to go down in the shops Says he is saving money by my being like this. Cheeky s....

I asked my son to buy a pre packed salad and he brought back a stir fry. Mind you its quiet nice as a salad. Dont feel like stodge today besides I dont want to end up putting weight on . I say this having eaten chocolate everyday:eek:

    Hugs everyone xxx.
  • :mad:Hi Messies.
Some people say they have `lightbulb moments:idea:`, but I`ve had more of a lightbulb morning! Bulb died in lamp near computer. Switched it on & off a few times to check, lost track of if it was on or off, so had to unplug it...
First trace the wire from lamp through tangle under computer table... not as simple as it sounds. There are six plugs under there, and all leading to similar black wires...
Visibility/access to underneath of computer table is bad.
Had to move loads of stationery, notebooks, etc., from a little shelf to even SEE bottom layer of computer table.
Then, using barbecue tongs, pick up stuff that had fallen behind bottom shelf. Several hair scrunchies, post-it blocks, small teddybear, camera case, lighters, pack of screenwipes, DGD`s old slipper, and various old bits of paper carp. And some REALLY beefy cobwebs:eek:!
Finally unplugged lamp, and removed dead bulb:T
We rely on this lamp in the evening, don`t like the main light on...so off I went to find a replacement bulb. All I had in stock were bayonet fittings, this lamp needs a screw-in.:( Headed off to local co-op who, of course, only had bayonet fitting ones. Next went to 24 hour garage shop, who had no bulbs at all, by this time I`m halfway to town, so continued to Morrisons and finally got a bulb :T

I have also spent a considerable amount of time delicately Henrying the offending corner, and sorting/re-homing the stuff that c ame out of it, which ended up cluttering the fireguard and one armchair! LR is now back to normal, minus the cornerful of carp. Phew:j!
