My home is a mess

Lleucu rats in the attic. Has anyone been up there.
Try the local church for volunteers to help with the painting and the council about getting industrial cleaners in.
I still think your a star.0 -
Emm I confess to standing on my foot. I had to clean the house it was minging. I was up at 7.30 this morning. Ended up cleaning the kitchen, putting laundry in, dishes, mopping the hall and livingroom, hoovering, cleaning the leather couches which dd had spilt food on, polishing, cleaned birdcage ,cleaned out the hamster, cleaned the bathroom and cleaned out dd tip of a room.
Im paying for it now but Im sick of the mess and promises to help clean.
My oh is having a go at the cooking but it feels like Im pulling teeth getting any cleaning from him. He then has the cheek to say I should not be up doing it. Well who else is going to!!!!!!.
Iv just got dd to hoover her room as there were little balls out of a bean bag pillow everywhere.
Im so frustrated. Sorry about the rant.
Hugs everyone.0 -
Morning Messies! Just had a quick read, running behind this morning (but at least I`m up!) will post properly later. Just need to get this early shift out of the way first. Light at end of tunnel...
Have a good day all. x0 -
Hello again!
Well, I finally get to be master of my own time again for 9 days (WHO am I kidding??!) I did have a lovely shift today though, had such a pleasant productive morning I almost thought I was on the wrong ward!
Dibuzz, you can`t have done any less than I have in the house in last 2 days. The place has gone to the dogs - literally! Never mind, remember I was going on about `crunchy` kitchen floor, and said it`ll keep? Well, it has.
Snookey, Baaaad Snookey!! Keep off that foot, and never mind what mings! If they don`t clean it properly just delegate it all over again. You really should not be doing it.You have every right to rant.
Lleucu, rats in attics are more common than people think, there are safe ways to get rid of them, get the council onto it and don`t scare yourself with online horrors. I think you`re a star too. Maybe you haven`t changed the world, but you`ve given so much of yourself to helping your elderly neighbour and making her a lot more comfy than she was. Bless you.
Well, since I got home today I`ve done a mountain of washing up and cleared sink & worktops, got supper started, and now waiting for DGD to roll in anytime. I`m going to make a fire, and maybe slop some colour on my hair but otherwise not much else as I can feel myself running out of steam fast...
Hope you`re all having a good start to the weekend. x0 -
Hello everyone. Emm Im glad you have some well deserved time off. Iv solved the housework problem, I lost my temper.
I dont often lose it but It was a long time coming. Result being they all ran lol.
Oh has now promised to mend his ways and has been busy today, ds and dd have been helping when asked.
I have done nothing but sew a waterproof cover for my cast for when outside. My wheelchair arrived today so off to the shops on saturday being pushed like a queen, lol.
Ill let you know how he steers my chair if I make it back in one piece.
Take care everyone.0 -
Looks like you've all been achieving much more than I have!
Lovely new boiler :j was installed a week and a half ago but the job took much longer (and created more mess) than expected. Electrician due to turn up the following day but didn't because the message that the gas fitter bit was finished didn't reach him. Not to worry, the boiler was working (but I had taken the morning off work to wait for the electrician), so rearranged said electrician for Wednesday when I wasn't in work. Last Saturday new boiler stopped working so no heating or hot water  Arranged for gas fitter to come back out first thing Monday (more time off work). He did, it was a wiring problem. Electrician due to come out in the afternoon, but then was stuck on another job and couldn't come out until Tuesday morning (yet more time off work and had to take DD and DS to local leisure centre to have showers...) Electrician comes out and we have carpets and floorboards up while he rewires the heating system, but then he cuts through a gas pipe so we need the gas fitter back. For goodness sake, ever feel like someone some where is taking the Michael? Anyway, all sorted now but still need to find some motivation to do something useful, especially as they still have to come back to check the installation and sign it off as complete.
Sorry for the moan. Hopefully I'll get something useful done while it's half termxx

That sounds like quite an ordeal, have you put in a complaint about the incompetence of the Electrician? But at least now you have a working efficient boiler.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Hi all!
Snookey, well done you. THAT sort of putting your foot down is ok, keep being firm with your folks! Hope the shopping went ok.
Mummybobble, I`m glad your new boiler is sorted now, but what a nightmare! At least when ours was down there was only me & OH here having to `rough it`, but that was bad enough.
Messy Status Report:
Shopping done & put away (I HATE Tesco on a Saturday but needed petrol as well) Got OH to come with me and help, and we came home the long way, scenic route, which was nice...
KITCHEN - lump of YS pork shoulder in oven for later, tops & sink clear & cleaned, floor Henried (my word, how he rattled!) mopped and mats washed, clean ones down. It is no longer crunchy underfoot, at last.
LR - Rugs changed, floor Henried & mopped, clean rugs look nice but a pity I can`t see the sofa...
Hall- it`s only a small hall, but it had got a lot smaller, so had to shift loads of carp to dig Henry out. Looks bigger now.
Next -
(having a little break & slurping orange juice/energy drink mix) I`m going to Henry landing & bedroom, then slop some colour on my head as I didn`t get round to it last night. Then when I look more scary I`ll nag DS & DGD to move their carp off the sofa!0 -
Oh Mummybobble what a nightmare. You need to get a strongly worded complaint together I think!
Snookey - love the idea of you being pushed around like a queen! And Lleucu you are truly a star - no wonder your motivation is wearing a bit thin after the amount of effort you have put in so just give yourself a little pat on the back. Not many people would do it nowadays you know.
Anyhow I am shut in the office with the dog on lock down. DS1 has a friend round for a sleepover. Doggie normally goes to my parents in these circumstances because he is terrified of visitors and may try to eat my sons friend. My parents couldnt have doggie today so I said oh it will be OK we will manage - I am starting to regret that now.
On the upside I have done a mountain of shredding and filing and now have a neat little folder with things to sort out in it which is a weight of my mind to be honest.
Going to sort out pizza and chips for the kids (making sure all the doors are shut properly first and the dog cant get upstairs) and then back to the filing I think.0 -
