Hi Messies!
FA, thanks for that link, OH & I had a good chuckle.
YL, we had to do the `air-lock` thing (close door A before opening doorwhen new littly-dog arrived, but that was because of the cat. Now, since we`ve had a fire every evening for the last couple of weeks they`ve shelved their differences to all share a piece of fireside rug!
Tomorrow is bins day, so it`s inspired a bit of a trawl - DGD has brought contributions out of her room, lots of empty bottles & tubes from bathroom, and I`ve changed Henry`s bag as well as sorted through a pile of junk mail & supermarket mags for recycling.
My next door`s freezer has gone off, so she`s managed to find a friend who can accommodate most of the stuff for her - and she had been keeping a bag of my stuff for me which I`d completely forgotten about. So I now have a Duck, 2 bags of Farmfoods oak smoked haddock, & 3 vacuum-packed ham hocks. Currently still frozen solid, wrapped together in a freezer bag then inside a thermos shopping bag.
Challenge for my week off, to use this lot as it thaws and before it goes off!!! No room in my freezers unless I chuck stuff away, but there`s no advantage to that. So far, I`m thinking the ham hocks can last longest as they have frozen bone within and are `cured` as well as vac-packed... I`ll use one bag of fish tomorrow with some leeky mash... then use the duck as it`s too expensive to waste and I`ll want to cook it when it`s thawed not take chances as it`s poultry...Can`t start today as we`re having last night`s pork roast leftovers.
There`s only me & OH here for the next week, but we both like piggy portions, which is just as well!
I`ve also done 2 WM loads, plus cleaned both loos and messy bathroom. Wiped mantelpiece & bits that live on there, and hearth (stardrops & microfibre cloth, better than polish), and cleared computer table of cluttery bits. I`m quite pleased as quite a lot done in not really a lot of time.
Scarey thought has occurred -
I won`t need to go shopping much as I`ve GOT to use thawing stuff.
Weather is carp so won`t be getting muh done outside by the looks of things.
MIGHT even start thinking about cleaning oven & hob. Scarey.
Hope you`re all having a nice Sunday. x0 -
Hi messies, I'm still a bit tired and down. I think it may be my hormones playing up again.
One more week of work and then a week off... some de-messying and winter-proofing in order then!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

You've just reminded me Emm, yesterday I got youngest up for work and noticed a half empty pure fruit juice bottle on the floor so took it down. I could see that the bottom was blown so tried to open it very slowly but as soon as I touched the lid there was a loud bang and suddenly there was stale orange and mango juice all over the window, wall, sink, floor and me
Looking on the bright side I now have a clean kitchen, well the end where the window and sink are anyway.
Apart from the usual washing I've been to get lunch box stuff but am going to do the main shopping tomorrow when it's quieter.
I need to get back into the swing again, I was sort of getting there but things (including me) have fallen apart.
After shopping tomorrow I'm determined to finish sorting my room out. I have a bouncy chair, baby gym, baby monitor, lie back buggy and a few toys which have never been used so they are going to the charity shop as soon as I can.
Youngest managed to hit the wall with his car on Monday, its not too bad, just needs a bit of touch up paint but the wall which was more of a gatepost between ours and next door didn't look safe so we took it down. Straight away the woman next door was out and we assured her it will be fixed as soon as he gets time. Her gate fastens onto a metal post next to it so there's no problem there.
Today her daughter was round shouting and asking why it hadn't been done yet
I told her he will do it when he can but she kept going on so I ended up just walking away.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Hi all
Dibuzz, sounds like the last thing you need is next door neighbours being a pain in the a**e. Why are some people so unreasonable? Chin up.
Emms, sounds interesting being forced to use up those ingredients. And they all sound very nice!
I can proudly announce that all the paperwork is now decluttered from the office. OH hasnt got round to putting up my new shelves yet which will get some of the files off the floor but at least its all more organised.
I am well and truly fed up with the rain showers that are making it so hard to get the washing dry. Doesnt look like the next few days are going to be any better so the tumbler may get used again.
Anyhow, off to sort some paperwork for my voluntary job for an hour then coax DS2 into the bath and into bed!0 -
Dibuzz why dont you sell the baby things and treat yourself to something nice. Sometimes charity begins at home and you deserve something nice.
Emm wish I lived closer Id help you eat the duck ,lol
Yorkshire lass why do we keep so much paper and forever sorting through the stuff.
Jp hugs.
Well Iv slept most of today as the dog has been playing up of a night. I think it may be due to my foot, no not up his backside, lol. The animals in this house hate any kind of change.
I sat on the bedroom floor last night and sorted through a load of clothing, books, paper and other carp. It had become a mountain in the corner. The one you look at and think I must sort and then leave. Also the one you start and think why did I .
Going to the shops on Monday now thanks to the dog.
Take care everyone.0 -
Snookey I did think of that but just want to get rid of them now, they take up room and I realised a long time ago that it had been a waste of money buying them. I'm sure someone will be glad of them.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140

Hi everyone!
Hope you are all well? Thought i'd pop in and say hello, i'm off to work at 11.45. Things aren't much better with my parents, but on the up side they are away on holiday till friday so i don't have to worry about upsetting anybody!!
I've half made a lasagne for supper, tidied bathroom and put towels in wash, just came to a bit of a standstill after that! lol!
Hope everyone is having a good day!!
JxxxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
Hi everyone,
Finally life is getting back to normal, all the visitors have been and gone, DH is back to work and I'm on my own with the buns. I am totally worn out - with doing the spring clean the week before then not having a minute to myself for the past 10 days I could sleep for a week!
Today I've just put a load of laundry on, done the washing up and made some soup - there's a ton of stuff in the fridge and pantry left over from when Em was here so I don't want to waste anything. I'm now just going to have a sit down catch up with all my internet stuff and not think about anything else.
Hope you're all ok.0
