My home is a mess

Dibuzz - try mixing a little milk with beaten egg to see if your dog takes this. My friend's dog rarely went near a vet as her dad swore by milk and beaten egg, but if that was not touched some scrambled egg, if still not eating a tin of pilchards and if that didn't work then their GSD went to a vet.
I followed the same method with our old girl , she died when she was almost 16 and in all that time only went to the vet once apart from her jabs.
On the house front, all washing is done and almost ironed.
Another floor has been found, bed made, hoovered and dusted.
Next job is the bathrooms - I hate having two when they need cleaning :mad:0 -
Hi everyone!
Hope all is well! Here on the farm it's a really crappy day weather wise, mr farmer has been in the house doing paperwork until after lunch. He's now disappeared off to deliver a few bills to people (an excuse to have a goss with his farmer chums i think!) buthehas taken the two youngest so i've been by myself all afternoon! :j
I've made a batch of Marrow & Apple chutney (xmas gifts!) and a huge gingerbread, now catching up on here while my xmas granola bakes in the oven - never made it before so fingers crossed! The house is still very untidy, i did hope to get tidied over half term but the kids go back to school on Monday & i haven't done anything!!
Off to the world cup rugby tomorrow so i'm going to get uniforms, dinner money etc sorted next. I do like the 15 minute idea, i might give that a go next week......:rotfl:
Take care!
JxxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
This is only the 2nd time she's been for anything apart from her jabs.
She seems a bit happier and more alert now, she's just had a little bit of chicken and is dozing in her basket14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Hi all messies! I have been following the thread for a while now but thought I'd de-lurk. I am definitely a messy, I used to blame my husband then realised it was all my stuff! Oops! I recently bought my first house and threw away so much stuff, really good chance to do it - so many times before I've looked at something then just put it back but having the choice of 'I either chuck it or pack it, I can't do nothing with it' was really useful, but I don't plan on moving again so need to keep up the decluttering.
Dibuzz - I've read the last couple of pages, and bless you, you do sound so very low. You mentioned not sleeping, not feeling motivated - I just wondered whether a trip to the Dr may be useful? Sorry if this is a bit intrusive, feel free to ignore but I felt a bit concerned.

Thanks for all the good wishes for my dog, don't know what I'd do without her.
Doobop, I have been on anti-depressants and anxiety tablets for about 8 years now but when I saw the doc a couple of weeks ago he referred me for counselling.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Hi Doobop, welcome to the thread
Dibuzz I'm so glad your doggie is feeling better.
Mostly lazy day here, just making inroads into the washing pile. Back to work on Monday, the week has just flown.
Hope everyone is well - how are those killer shifts Emm?I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Thanks for the welcome. I feel like a proper member now! Dibuzz - so glad you are getting some support from the Dr, you sound like a lovely person and like you are trying so hard for your family but important to take care of you too.0

Dibuzz- My sisters dog had exactly the same op and it took her a few weeks to recover properly, she is 12 though. I'm glad to hear she's feeling better!
OH called this morning to say that they have finally booked his flight back! So he knows what day he will back in the uk! I'm counting down the days!
Doing things in 15 minute spurts seems to be working for me, as it takes me about 15 mins to do most things now! :rotfl:: DD1 23/11/09

Hi Messies!
So much to catch up with here, and in the house, been MIA (work) last 2 days.
Doobop, welcome! Delighted to have you with us.
Dibuzz - ((HUGS)) to you & your dog, glad she`s on the road to recovery. In my experience dogs LOVE sympathy, and will go on milking it for as long as they can. We had a lab cross when DS was little who used to chase sticks and sometimes get them stuck in his mouth. Vet advised giving him ice cream after one particularly bad gash in his throat. (The daft dog never gave up wanting to chase sticks, and there was always some twerp who`d throw something for him!) Every time the ice cream van came to our road the dog would rush out and join the queue of kids even if DS wasn`t in the queue. He`d keep his turn in the queue and be up on his hind legs when it was his turn - the ice cream man used to give him a cornet just to get rid of him! Same dog used to queue for the playground slide too, up the steps and down the slide when his turn came!
JPS, it sounds like you`ve made good use of half term, it IS supposed to be a break, you know! We`ve got lots of soggy sparrows here too, plus the tits & finches and even the poor woodpecker on the peanuts now looks soggy. OH is very zealous about keeping the feeders full for them but his wellies are bringing more mud & muck in than both dogs put together! Hope the next few weeks go well and quickly for you. My `killer` shifts aren`t too bad at the moment, thanks, I must be getting some of my old stamina back at last.
Buffy - ((HUGS)) . I hope your haircut cheered you up the other day, most folks I know get a `lift` from going to hairdressers, but I`ve avoided them most of my life - had a very traumatic perm when I was 11 and never forgave them!
Gilly, well done on your 15-minute blitzes!
Well done everyone for getting anything done at all - EXCEPT Snookey, that is - stay OFF that foot, please!
Chez-Emm ...
It feels dark, damp & dreary, but not cold enough to put heating on. We`ll light the fire in a few hours, so one WM load (towels) will go on later. Kitchen floor, back door area & LR could do with mopping but pointless today, and will be as bad again by tomorrow pm, so they`ll keep. I`ll shake the rugs this afternoon if it stops raining long enough, that`ll have to do.
Lamb tonight (cooked it last night when oven was on) and an early night as I`m working again tomorrow, but then 2 days off, so here`s to procrastination!
DGD`s mama has still got loads of stuff stored here, and as she`s moving house has said she`d take some of it, maybe today. Perfect opportunity to de-clutter a bit more of spare room of Doom!
Have a nice Sunday folks. x0 -
Doggy seems a lot better today shes still sleeping a lot but can lie down more comfortably. I'm amazed at how well she is taking her tablets and medicine although the roast beef or chicken she's been getting after it may be helping. She's not interested in her dog food and has to eat after taking it so she's being a bit spoilt.
The weather is awful here, I was expecting the fences to be down this morning but luckily they have survived.
There's not much else being done here as I don't want to leave her so I'm knitting with her at my feet she seems to be comfy in her basket and hasn't tried to get on the sofa yet.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140
