My home is a mess

Morning all!
Gilly, I hope the weather stays nice in Devon, have a lovely weekend away - you deserve it after all that de-cluttering and tidying!
Snookey, your DD`s footwear list for 3 days away sounds more excessive than your hoover list! My DD even in her later schooldays was a real shoe freak, a budding Imelda Marcos, but even she wouldn`t have packed that much for 3 days.
TF , I note you said your friend WAS a nurse - so many good nurses are disillusioned and I`ve lost some great colleagues over recent years. I think on the whole I`m lucky where I am MOST of the time it`s the best ward, or at least I am able to feel that it is.... I was off sick for 6 months (major surgery) and only started back in August. I was getting so fed up of being at home by then, and now it`s already a case of getting through the shifts and looking forward to the next days off - back to `normal` for me! By this time tomorrow I`ll be too busy to think about the afternoon... but if I get away on time I`ve got the 4 days off to recover!
Have a decent Friday all. x0 -
This morning I thought I would clean the oven. Sadly for me the thought turned into action, yuck.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
I know Emm its from the YMCA that the school gave us parents. My dd wont wear the trainers again as she hates them. Spoilt princess comes to mind.
Emm hope work goes okay on sat . Those four days off should be for pampering oneself not others.
Alec the oven is my dreaded job and has to be still done. Hats off to you for doing yours.0 -
Snookey, I bet they want her to pack it all into a tiny bag too.
As usual, I had all sorts of things planned but by the time the kids had all left the urge had gone.
I've done 3 loads of washing, tidied the living room and put some clothes away.
I need to clean the kitchen and plant some bulbs my mum had left over but curling up on the sofa with the dog is looking more and more tempting right now.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Dibuzz they do but tough as she takes a size 4.5 in shoes and with so many to pack she will need more than a small suitcase.
We have just got back from charity hunting so Iv more books to clutter the place up. Went for something to eat in the pub had ribs which were nice.
Now back home and sitting in bed with the lappy which is even nicer, lol.
Dibuzz you deserve a break . Hope you took the chance and curled up with the pooch.0 -
It was a nightmare when mine did anything like that as they all had big feet.
My youngest was in a size 12 when he went up to high school.
I'm terrible for buying charity shop books too, I re-donate them when I've read them but sometimes get a bit behind
I fell asleep for an hour with the dog, I don't like sleeping in the daytime but don't seem to get much at night. At weekend or when he's not working I get up before my eldest even goes to bed.
I planted the bulbs and pulled a few weeds up then gave the kitchen a half hearted clean.
Going to try and get an early night and carry on fighting with the mess tomorrow14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
My son and oh are both a size 12 at least we wont be short of a boat if we need one, lol.
I recycle books with my mum but the last time we did a swap most of them were the ones Id given her on the last swap. We try to ensure we keep up with the books we buy so as not to duplicate.0 -
These days it seems quite normal for kids to have large feet, but I was in size 7 shoes before I was 14. In those days that was the largest size available in `normal` shoe shops. I dreaded going for shoes in case my feet had grown since the time before!!! Thankfully my feet didn`t carry on growing though. I was 18 before I ever saw a size 8 in a shoe shop! I was spotty too. How I envied my friends with their dainty feet & clear skins.
Off to work now...think I`d rather do this than clean my oven though!

I was the same Emm, size 7 when I went to high school and never had a choice of shoes, my mum would just tell them to bring out anything they had and if I was lucky there would be something suitable.
For a while I really thought she had made me stand up too early as I had huge feet and no boobs but after a while I realised it doesn't work like that :rotfl:
I hope work goes well, at least you've got a few days off after that (to clean the oven)
I'm hoping to get a few things done today, nothing major just normal cleaning up and food shopping, just waiting for youngest to go to work then it's walkies.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Need I say more than I made a pie last night and it exploded in the oven.0
