Can you not persuade him they might still fit, but at 18 perhaps wearing Woody from Toy Story and the like might not do his street cred any good :rotfl:

His mates all call him "Buzz" so he might get away with it, though I wouldn't recommend it if he wants kids one day ;)

  • Morning Messies!
I`ve been up for an hour and only now sat down for my first coffee and a read on here...Old Daftie-dog had left me a PUDDLE in LR so no choice but to deal with that first. DS was going to take her out last thing last night but evidently didn`t.
I worked a long-day shift yesterday, ward was mad busy and we were short-staffed, and I was SO tired by the time we`d had supper, etc., supervised DGD`s pizza-making and wound down a bit (watched Merchant of Venice on i-player, brilliant! DGD watched it with us and liked it a lot too.) and today still feel like I did a marathon...
Not the best start to the day.
    Nobody else is up yet.
I don`t mind DS sleeping till noon, but as he was up really late and didn`t put old Daftie out last thing I`m really niggled.
More coffee and a moan to fellow Messies will help.
And I`ve just noticed that when I got dressed this morning I`ve put my top on inside out, but buggritt, I don`t care!

Commiserations to those who are cold-ridden at present. DGD is full of snuffles so I expect we`ll all be down with it soon - she brings some real Class A germs home from school....

Well done on the clutter-clearing Gilly & McCulloch, and Dibuzz & Snookey, the intention`s there so it`s a good start...
Sonastin, glad your birthday outing went well, don`t overdo it in the garden today!

I have the day off today, but still don`t feel like doing much. One thing I will be doing is cooking BIG, as my recent Mega chicken stew lasted 3 days and saved a lot of mental and physical energy. This time, it`s lamb, as I`ve got 4 pieces of leg that were special offer at Morrisons, so a pot roast first then mega-stew with deliberately leftover veggies for the next couple of days. There`s always the option to curry the last bit too. I`ve got an early shift tomorrow, then another long-day which is a swap with a colleague who should have been on the Late on Tuesday. She has a parents` evening and so in return she`s doing one of my late shifts next week, which will give me a run of FOUR days off! I`ll be glad next week, but the extra hours this week don`t leave much scope for domestic concerns!

While I`ve been typing away here DGD has got up, finished off the pizza remains for breakfast, and done the washing up.
OH has got up, filled the birdfeeders, taken the dogs out again and sorted the bins for tomorrow. DS sleeps on, oblivious to my disgruntlement, but he`ll hear of it later.....

Have a nice Sunday all, whatever you`re up to.x
  • Hi everyone

Just popping my head around the door and saying hello as I really should be getting ready to take the kids to footie. Work is mad, the house is a tip, the laundry basket is overflowing. Nothing new here then.

Took in a parcel yesterday for someone who lives in a big posh house down the road. Went to deliver it yesterday and was invited in. Their house is beautiful - but SO messy. Was grinning all the way home that its not just me.

Anyhow, have a good Sunday afternoon. Will post properly later.

Having a break - lounge is hoovered and dusted although the sofas look like a Chinese laundry with the ironing piled on them.

Been to shops but gave Costco a miss as realised from their latest mailing that lots of items we would buy are on offer from tomorrow.

Gammon is in the slow cooker going to have with roasties, broccoli, carrots and cheesy leeks.

Now going to watch hours of CSI whilst doing the ironing
  • YL - it always lifts the spirits when we realise we aren`t the only Messies!!
Gilly, your gammon menu sounds lovely! Shame we`re committed to lamb now for the next 3 days - but it is smelling nice here too (the big `pseudo-le-creuset`is full to the top with leeks, carrots & parsnips on top of the lamb & rosemary)
I`ve washed the LR rugs and the smaller kitchen ones, and the dog beds, all hanging outside.
DGD has helped with a bit of tidying too.
OH has plied me with `nice` cups of tea.
DS has apologised for not outing the dogs before he went to bed, and has kept out of my way since!!
I`m off for a shower now and then going to potter outside to let my hair dry.

We got back from rugby at 4ish, I dropped son off at his girlriend's, came back and mowed the back lawn which took me nearly an hour as it's like a builder's yard in places and pulled weeds up from behind the shed.
Having a minute now before I make tea then will have to pick son up later.
He usually takes the car but had a couple of pints at the club.
I didn't get the ironing done but will do it tomorrow, eldest has enough shirts and pants for the next 2 days anyway.

Hi everyone Im fine now that Iv spread my germs far and wide. At least nobody can say that I dont share. lol.
Hope those of you feeling ruff feel better soon.
Emm our cat went one better than your dog by doing a poo on the landing. Litter box needed cleaning so my carpet seemed the next best thing!!!.
YL ooh the satisfaction of knowing even posh people are messy. Mind you Id have a cleaner if I was posh .

Iv been really good in the cleaning department even got ds and oh to help. Kitchen cleaned by ds,oh helped sort and put away a mountain of clothes, stairs and landing hoovered, living room hoovered, floors mopped ,dusting and cleaning of light switches and dado rails, more loads of washing done, bathroom cleaned ,bird and hamster cages cleaned out and tea cooked. Just need to do dd uniform and finish last load of washing.
Dibuzz our back yard is a builders yard but Im determined that the carp will be gone next week.
Well Im going to sit for another half hour before finishing the chores.
    Take care everyone.
  • Good er...morning!?
It`s still dark & feels like middle of the night, but no puddles in LR at least!
Snookey, I`m glad you`re better and managed to get so much done. I agree cat-doings is worse, our cat is pretty good that way but no litter tray as she prefers outdoors.
Dibuzz, a garden like a builders yard? Ours is like a Steptoes that has been overtaken by jungle!!

Off to work in a few minutes, it`s getting lighter now...
Have a nice day all. x

It's staying dark longer now, didn't help that it's a bit foggy too.
I'm hoping to mow the front lawn later, it's only a small triangle as most of the front garden is gravel and it's more effort to get the mower out than actually use it.
I also don't like doing the front as there are too many people walking past, I'd rather be hidden away in the back.
As I didn't iron yesterday I need to do that but first job when daughter leaves for work is the bathroom.
I feel like I can get a lot done today, just hope it doesn't wear off too quickly!

  • I can't believe I'm saying this but I am so glad the weekend is over. The past week has just been one small niggle after another and I was all ready for this week to be better when DH woke me up at about 2am. I couldn't get back to sleep, we were for reasons related to my rubbish week last week, sleeping in the spare room and the bed is so uncomfortable. Then DH got up and felt the need to bang every flipping door, bottle, bowl and who knows what else he got his hands on. I was super happy for him to leave for work.

We went out with MIL yesterday. WOW. We went out for lunch which is a nightmare at the best of times, I won't begin to describe how she chose to eat her lunch, she was hyper and just really in my face the whole time. It was relentless.

The house is a flipping tip and I'm worn out already. I hate moaning but I'm just in a really bad mood today! Here's to getting over it and a good week for us all.
