Apart from 2 loads of washing I've done half an hour in the garden, weeding and cleaning up after the dog and planted a couple of winter flowering plants.
Whatever happened to the promises of "if we get a dog you wont have to do anything"?
All the kids have tomorrow off so I'll probably be tearing my hair out by mid afternoon but I will have to go food shopping at some point.
At least having to wait till I can borrow a car means that I don't go out and buy stuff just to get out of the house, what I really need to do is use that time to clean up! :o

Im doing nothing today as I can just about breath as the cold has gone to my chest . Good excuse for staying in bed and hiding from any mess. Mind you Iv a pile of clean washing waiting to be put away in the corner of my room and a bedside table with carp on.

Hope you feel better soon snookey, I've been struggling to breathe with the changes in the weather.
My kids are all adults now, when we got the dog I said I had enough to do and didn't really want one but they persuaded me.
I wouldn't be without her now though, at least she knows who does everything for her. She always looks to me for approval if any of them give her a treat or chew.

Snookey - I'd say he's reading my posts if it wasn't for the fact that he's often to be heard sayig "reading gives you cancer" - in jest I must add - but he is definitely not one to read any more than he has to. I think it is more likely that Dibuzz is right - he must be after something! I guess we'll find out soon enough what it is :D The good behaviour continues as he's agreed to come out for a family dinner (my family!) on Monday, which means spending time in the company of my nieces (4 & 2) - that's definitely a step up too!
Alec - gave you a wave on the way past. Was pleasantly surprised that we saw far more young children in Blackpool than drunks. Last time I went was a late Saturday afternoon a few years ago. We planned to stay for a drink or two but ended up going home for the drink because there were so many people absolutely trashed and vomit stained at 5pm. But tonight it was very much back to what it used to be - lots of tacky trash on sale and families enjoying the lights. They seemed to go further than I remember from my childhood though - we ended up turning off and heading home early because it was getting late and a wee bit boring as the traffic was moving soooooooooooo slowly up at the north end. It was great to go back and visit though. OH thought it was unbelievably tacky but at least he can now make judgements from first hand experience not just blind prejudice ;)

Its been a really nice & lazy day today but tomorrow its back out to slave away in the garden. Hopefully I can have a lie in first though. Might even do a bit of cleaning at some point as well! Then again, I'm officially old now so maybe not :rotfl:

Glad you're feeling better snookey but I think you've been spreading your germs!
I've not really got a cold but feeling sort of not all there and a bit out of it, had to get my son to go shopping with me as I couldn't face it on my own and have needed my inhaler more than normal.

I've done the usual washing and general tidying of the living room but not much else today, hoping to feel a bit more lively tomorrow and clean the bathroom before rugby.

  • Hello messies,
It's ages since I dropped in.
Lot of progress, DS chucked 20 years of clutter out of the attic and found stuff to sell on Cash Converters /Bay of E in the process. Now it's just the Christmas decs and a couple of boxes of things we still own up there. I always worried a bit about what would happen when I moved and was forced to declutter the attic. One worry less.

I too think Snookey has been sharing - as I am full of cold, temperature, aches and pains, but am up early so going to work through it as am home alonetoday.

The boiler was replaced and a new power shower fitted in the bathroom on Friday so house looks like it has been burgled with clutter everywhere.

I can't put anything back in the airing cupboard as it needs new shelving. The new boiler is half the size of the old one so DH is going to replace the shelving, but he also wants to give it a lick of paint first to lighten it up in there.

The positive news on all this is that the loft is less cluttered as have taken 4 bags to the charity shop full of stuff, clothes, books, games that I was going to car boot but never did, 6 runs to the tip of things which might be useful one day but never were, some other bits that have sold on Bay of E for just over £200 and the shower which was bought 2.5 years ago.

Just the shower screen to go up, that was bought with the new bathroom 6 years ago, now that is some very big and heavy packaging to get out of the way :rotfl:

Our house has definitely suffered from the case of not wanting to do the trade you are paid for, which is why I got two of DH’s mates in to do the work. And even better they said call it a late wedding present, so I am paying for them to play golf today at a posh club under the pretence of it being a present for DH’s birthday yesterday.

    My plan for today is

Shut the door on the spare bedroom - that has the airing cupboard contents in it

    Hoover and dust downstairs completely

Pack Bay of E sold items

    Washing/Ironing

Costco shop then market for fruit and veg

A nice roast dinner for two as DS is out with the GF's family for her nan's birthday which was also yesterday. I know it seems like a lot of faffing but I can let that cook whilst I am doing other stuff and the left over cold meat will be good for lunches in the week.

Up and at 'em. I have had a cuppa and some paracetamol so let battle commence.

    Have a good day everyone.

Wow gilly, I'm tired just reading that.
I've had a similar breakfast, mint tea and co-drydamol but feeling a bit better than yesterday.

I've been up since 6 and was awake for hours before. I've put some washing out which should be nearly dry now so will iron it in a bit. I don't iron much, mainly eldest's shirts and pants for work
I gave the bathroom a quick wipe over when I got out of the shower and washed last night's dishes.
We had a charity bag through the door yesterday so I will see what I can get rid of. I've got things I had before ex left 10 years ago which I will never wear again even if they still fitted so they can go and some of my son's clothes which are in my room can probably go too.
He was looking for a particular top yesterday and found some age 7-8 boxers, he was 18 the other day :rotfl:

Can you not persuade him they might still fit, but at 18 perhaps wearing Woody from Toy Story and the like might not do his street cred any good :rotfl:
