Well I suppose I wasn't very fair to OH. Either that or he's reading this thread to find out when he's pushing his luck! Anyways, I got home last night to find he'd done the DW hokey cokey and emptied the bin. Still not perfect - recycling bin is overflowing and the DW was so full there was only space for a teeny bowl and a chopping board so he could have just switched it on so it was all clean for me - but at least he'd done something about the mess.

In fact, he's being eerily nice at the moment. Its my birthday tomorrow and I told him I want to go to Blackpool illuminations just like we used to do when I was a kid. And he said OK without any objection - even though as a Friday its going to be one of the worst nights for stag/hen parties. I wonder what has come over him? Perhaps I should bottle it and sell it to other fellow messies!
  • Having a "messy" afternoon. I don't work Thursday afternoon's and normally I play catch up (after a fashion, sometimes the catch up involves the mess in my house, other times it involves coffee and cake elsewhere :D ).

Today is the high school's open evening so DD finishes at 1.15, DS at 2.00 then both have to be back there from 4.15 til 7.30. DD (Deputy Head Girl - sorry, proud Mummy moment, sometimes I just can't help myself!) is speaking, along with the Head and senior teachers, at both presentations, and DS has been asked to take part in sports demonstrations. Very proud of them both but it doesn't half make life complicated! More clean school uniform/PE kit required...

Hey ho, Friday tomorrow  xx

Emm I've been up since 4am, I just can't sleep these days.
If I could start as soon as I get up I'd get so much more done but by the time everyone else is up my get up and go has got up and gone.

Sonastin, be careful, sounds like he's after something :o

MummyBobble, I remember those days. My daughter was sports captain and in every team going so we had to have extra PE kit.

I've done some washing but not much else yet, still finding it hard to get going.

Im feeling sorry for myself today as Im full of cold and slept badly last night. Must be karma for winding oh up.
Iv got my all dancing laptop and even the key board lights up. I can not believe how quick it is compared to the one I had. Iv got to stop bragging now or Ill turn into the oh,ugh the thought, lol.
Mummybobble well done to you for bringing up such nice children. Its lovely when they succeed.
Dibuzz Im with you on the motivation as the house looks like a bomb has hit. Iv really got to take things in hand this weekend.
Emm I loved the food in the hospital when I stayed a few years ago. Could never see what people were moaning about. Maybe Im easily pleased.
Sonastin do you think he is reading your posts on here and has been shamed into doing more. Enjoy Blackpool.

Just to report that I got off my bum and did some housework, kitchen cleaned ,dishes done, floors downstairs mopped and a couple of loads of washing done.
Head start for Friday when Ill hopefully get some more chores out of the way.
  • Work this morning, then I need to nip to get some art stuff that DD needs for her GCSE work. When I get home I am going to get on top of the pots (not a typo referring to some old music charts show, I mean I AM going to do all the washing up and I will come back to tell you I've done it - mind you, for those of a certain age who can remember, I always fancied joining Pan's People :rotfl: )

Here's to a good Friday for us all
  • sonastin, give us a wave when you go past on your way to th'illuminations!

I know it has a pretty bad reputation but I've never really seen any problems when we've been out in BPL, maybe a bit more nudity than other places but nothing any worse than any other town at the weekend (damning with faint praise I know). There was an occasion someone thought I was a lady of the night but I was standing on my own on a street corner all dolled up so I guess I looked the part.

Having my usual Friday blitz today. Apparently I'm getting a new gas meter next week which should be fun, especially as it could involve digging up the drive. Have a good Friday everyone.

I'm struggling again today, 2 loads of washing done but that's as natural as breathing in this house.
I don't sleep well anyway but woke up at 1am absolutely freezing and couldn't get warm so didn't get back to sleep till about 4 and was up at 5.
I keep thinking about doing the bathroom but thinking is as far as I've got so far.
I can't settle down to sitting here watching TV or on the laptop but can't get started with anything either.

  • I think you need to declutter the extra & old all stuffs.
  • Hi Messies!

Happy Birthday Sonastin! Enjoy yourself in Blackpool.

Snookey, hope your cold improves, enjoy the excuse to ignore bomb-site and play with new lappie! Yes, our hospital grub is quite good really, it`s just that other folks` choice often looks nicer!

Well done Messies who found a bit of `go` today - I`ve been busy all day but not much to show for it, bit of laundry, shopping, cooked for tonight - broc & stilton soup, and some YS chicken breasts cut in strips, Jollof African seasoning and fried in a bit of butter. (dipping them & French bread in soup, will get very messy!!) Also cooked a lump of turkey breast & stuffing for tomorrow night, as DGD`s making herself & her dad a pizza when I get home from work so the oven will be booked!
