UPDATE!!!
Ive won the case!! here is the reply i have just got from paypal!
After carefully reviewing your case, we've determined that you'll be
eligible for a refund (including postage and packing) once you've returned
the merchandise to the seller.
Once you have returned the merchandise, you will be covered under PayPal

You would have been better sending special in case recorded doesn't track (as it sometimes doesn't). I'm crossing everything for you that it does in this case0 -

Open and escalate as soon as you can, a case for SNAD, sold not as described. Add the fact the seller sent an unrelated item.
Then send your item back via special delivery or a courier, do NOT opt for recorded.
Add the tracking to the dispute.
You will get your refund, minus the returns postage.theonlywayisup wrote: »Slow down.
She sent a coat, the coat is not the item the op bought. The op must send the coat back via special delivery, not recorded, add the tracking and the op will get her money back. The coat is snad. The op will win.UPDATE!!!

Twice in this thread I have told you that you are eligible for a full refund as the item you had received was not as described. However, you obviously didn't see my comments as I also said NOT to send it recorded.
I only hope for your sake that it progresses through the system correctly.
If I were you I would be hotfooting it down to the PO and begging with the counter staff to change the postage to Special Delivery.0 -
i asked for it to be sent tracked next day delivery so it may well have been special delivery! ive uploaded all the tracking details to paypal and they were happy with them and ive just tracked it and it tells me the time and location i posted it and states
item number was posted at 20 Upton Road CH41 0DF on 12/04/11 and is being progressed through our network for delivery is that not ok??0 -

How much did it cost? SD starts at £5.45, but if you give the price you paid, we could work it out and put your mind at rest.0 -

aarrhh £3.38!! how come i may not get a signature? ive uploaded all the receipts and the picture to paypal now and spoke to them on the phone as i was concerned the seller may refuse to sign for the parcel, they checked the tracking and said it will be fine... :eek:0 -

It doesn't matter if the seller refuses to sign, what will matter for you is that your parcel shows online as doing anything at all.
Recorded is hugely unreliable, but you may be lucky with it.
All your tracking needs to show is 'attempted/delivered or refused' you will then get your refund.
Most RD on here unfortunately never say anything other than 'progressing through the network'. Keep us updated.
Is your PO a small one where you could sweet-talk the counter staff into changing your postage?0 -

Paypal do not understand the postal service they often refer to recorded as a tracked service when it isn't. As per all the other advice recorded is a real risk here as if it doesn't show as delivered or attempted delivery and just gets lost then you can only claim for the cost of a coat, not an iphone.
In some areas recorded never tracks, so keep fingers crossed this time it does. It can take several days to arrive though as it is just standard mail and carried with standard mail .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
