help and advice needed please...

Hiya just wondered if anyone can give me some advice, ive brought a i phone of ebay, the seller i brought it of seemed honest enough she had over 400 positive feedbacks the reserve price was not met so i emailed her and she said she would sell it to me without relisting it to save her fees and give me it at a lower price so i paid £170 via paypal, to cut a long story short i recieved a recorded delivery packet from her today but it was a childs coat, not the iphone i have purchased and she is ignorning my emails, is there anythink i can do??? dealing outside of ebay like that is frowned on by ebay. Have a look on Paypal to see if you con do a item not as described. Other than that sorry I you are stuffed.

Yes but I bet they will not do anything about it. Anything is always worth having a go at.

Fortunately, Paypal buyer protection still covers you.

Open and escalate as soon as you can, a case for SNAD, sold not as described. Add the fact the seller sent an unrelated item.

Then send your item back via special delivery or a courier, do NOT opt for recorded.

Add the tracking to the dispute.

You will get your refund, minus the returns postage.

she sent it as goods via paypal, luckily i was not home when it got delivered so it went to the local sorting office, i opened it whilst i was there cause i knew i hadnt brought anythink that felt like that, and the post woman saw what it was, she said she would write a statement if i needed her to to say the item that was in the recorded delivery packet was a childs coat not an iphone!!! she also said the price of the postage on the packet will reflect this too??

Is there are return address on the package, usally is with a Recorded Delivery, you may need that address if you plan to go down the police route at a later stage.

no nothing on the back which i thought was unusual and nothing inside the parcel, only the coat, she is registered as a buisness seller thou on ebay so i have her address from the original listing!

Has she sold the coat on ebay - check her previous listings. Could be a genuine mistake if she's mixed up the addresses. and could be away for the weekend.
