Oh the joy of buying and selling on the same account. If you look at her feedback page and look under feedback left for others you will find this item 170618361894 which is also an iphone with a missing volume control, same phone at a guess. She's left a big fat neg for the seller as there was a problem with the transaction, looks as though she bought it, found it was faulty and sold it on quick.
She also has another neg for lack of communication and answers it by saying she has recently moved house and not had phone or internet.0 -

Haha brilliant. This makes me think it costs a lot more than the £15 she was quoting to replace the button as well.
Love how she says iPhone 4 has a titanium back....its glass! :rotfl:
Hope you get some resolution today OP0 -
Did the funds come from your paypal account, or via the credit card attached to your account? If they came off a card - then you have extra protection if paypal let you down.
Paypal ruled in my favour in a case, but refused to refund me, as they could not get it back from the buyer. I reported it to my credit card company - and they got it back from paypal. I now empty my paypal account first, when making large purchases - so all the money comes 0ff my card.
Hope you get it sorted and paypal play ball.0 -

The rules changed about 3 years ago and now if you win a paypal claim you are guaranteed to get your money back and then paypal chase the seller for the reimbursement. There is no longer a requirement for a seller to have the funds in their account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I think you are probably safer buying through ebay with paypal than 'off' ebay.
A quick tale for you (so as not to derail too much)
In september someone local to me was selling a phone. OH contacted him and asked if he could pick it up, seller stopped the auction for OH and I went with him to collect this brand new, boxed phone.
Fast forward 6 months and I'm tee'd off with OH, he's not answering my texts. On further investigation this is because the phone doesn't appear to have a signal. OH calls T Mobile and they confirm the phone had been reported stolen the night before, oddly almost 6 months to the day it was purchased.
Fortunately I saved a text with the sellers address so we went straight round. He claimed it was a mistake, he had lost his phone and they had accidentally blocked the handset etc etc. We made him call T Mobile and not only get the phone unblocked but register it to OH to prevent further issues.
So you seem at least if you go through ebay you have a record you can produce, proof of payment. We were very lucky indeed with OH's phone and I would be exceptionally wary of buying one 'off' ebay now as I have no proof whatsoever.0
