sunflower growing competition

anyone fancy a friendly sunflower growing competition? Thought it would be a fun thing to do as I saw some families are doing it but as I live alone I have no-one to challenge!

I have no idea about this so any suggestions are welcome, I assume anyone who wants to play just contributes to the thread and says what type they are growing etc and of course at the end we need photos with proof!!!!! :D

OK general opinion seems to be two categories - tallest and the one with the most heads :rotfl:

    I can never resist a challenge. Or a ridiculous competition for that matter. See my kale if you don't believe me. :p

    So I'm in. When's the deadline for entries? How long into the year do sunflowers grow?
    If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

    I have about 10 different types of sunflower seeds (and I bought more today:eek:)

    Not all tall though :D

    Maybe I'll see how many heads on a multiheaded type :T

    MrBadExample I have no idea how long they grow for, nor when the deadline should be - I'm open to suggestions :D

    No good asking me - I don't normally grow things I can't eat. The local squirrels will probably ravage mine anyway. If I ever get round to planting any. Can I grow a red one please? :D

    I'm in, I've got red sunflower seeds as well as yellow ones on order!

    I promise not to cheat like i did when growing my Son's sunflower when he was in playgroup 10yrs ago... We'd almost won until he piped up "My sunflower is gonna grow big and strong cus Mummy has a magic light over it!" (i'd like to point out I was growing a regular one for the real comp too!)
