I googled my email addy this am and a google hit returned with a list of emails from a competition entry.

All I could find was a general customer services email addy but I have emailed it asking them to remove it asap.

Since joining MSE, nearly two years ago, I have found weeowens to be helpful, considerate and a voice of reason on the competition & discussion threads.

As someone who has also experienced the personal message facility being abused, in the receipt of intimidating and insulting messages, I too have decided to take a break from the comps board.

This is in support of weeowens and also due to the atmosphere on the forum in recent months.

I hope you too will realise that it is not the majority of people on this board that wish you any ill will and that most are very very grateful for all your posts.

Have to say I had noticed one or two posters being a bit mean in the last few weeks.

I too am very saddened and offended by some of the vitriolic comments being made on the boards as of late and I find that it is a great shame

it maybe a sad reflection of the times as the recession is starting to bite, or it maybe just that the OP is going through a difficult time in there life through ill health or other reasons or it maybe that they are uneducated and haven't read the forums etiquette guide

The main parts are

• Please be nice to all MoneySavers, courtesy helps.
• Please be sensitive : Don't Repeatedly or harshly saying someone’s wrong, and think twice before posting judgmental comments.
• Don't feed the trolls as they tend to bite!

I must admit that I have myself posted something in the heat of the moment which I have later regretted and I have always found that it helps to hold out the proverbial olive branch and apologise and to try and make amends if you think that you may have offended anyone

I would like to take this opportunity to thank weeowens, misslinda, and divadee and anyone else that is thinking of leaving or has left MSE that your endeavors are and will always be most appreciated by the vast majority of mse users and I sincerely hope that your stay away is a short one

please, please think twice before leaving as this place would become unbearable if the bad guys where to take over

I usually stay out of the disagreements on here, but i wanted to say weeowens that without you and some other regular posters, there would be no comp board. Im truley grateful for all the hard work you put it and hope you come back. x

I don't usually get involved either but would just like to say thanks to weeowen, Divadee, Immortal Beloved, and miss linda for all of their hard work on the boards and hope they are back soon. Have had some great wins from here and have really enjoyed being part of this forum up until lately.Hope that all of this is resolved soon and the board gets back to normal and everyone is happy again.

I think its dreadful that the acts of so few have upset so many - i understand everyones feelings in all of this, but hope they will feel ready to come back soon and that all this unpleasentness is now over.
