I can understand the frustration from the couple of you that actually do buy the mags and complete the competitions but I do find it a little strange when others get upset about the answers being posted elsewhere - you have registered on MSE and some unknown person is enabling you to enter for free. Maybe I am thinking this one through a bit too much but I would be a damm sight more frustrated if I was the owner of these magazines who pay out often large amounts to compers who haven't even bothered to buy the product and put the effort in to the puzzles. Until the mags decide to put a stop to this somehow then I think everyone should be grateful for the loophole that allows thousands to enter a comp that one person has paid a few quid for - whatever site is is taken from.

Right Ill stop thinking now and go back to the cleaning :)

hi :) i hope you're not aiming that at me,
fyi, i buy every magazine i post the answers to on here, i'm not entering any for free, i purchase all the tab monthly, puzzlers & weekly, more besides that i post in the postals, as do all the other magazine contributors on here that i know of,
& believe me it's not nice to have spent time & money to have all your work put all over competition sites, it's been reported to abuse & MSE admin, but, repeating the replies i've/we've had from them, there's not a lot that can be done about it, once abuse did contact a certain site about certain ones but the site owners insisted it was thier members work, even though the words/typing/context down to a special marking was on them,
& as i said earlier, i've given up worrying about it now,
posting the mag comps are my way of contributing to the comps boards as other ops work hard to find thier comps to post & i appreciate entering thier comps so like/try to give back some :)

hi :) i hope you're not aiming that at me,
Not aimed at anyone who buys the mags as you can see from my first line :D and judging from the thanks your mag posts get then thousands are getting a free competition from your hard work - and thats just this site :)

I am sure that what you are doing is exactly what each of the businesses who own the mags hope everyone does.

Like I said maybe I was thinking this through too much and your efforts for MSE members are very selfless that is for sure :T Personally I buy the mags with the comps in for myself and like you do the puzzles then enter. Thats because I enjoy doing them though :)

The companies losing the money obviously will be aware of this happening across lots of sites and I guess they could not do a lot about it if they wanted too shame really as it massively cuts the odds for their real customers winning. Just a thought KK and certainly not aimed at you or any particular individual :A

My thoughts on this are that a lot of comp promoters could not care less how their entrants have obtained the answers so long as their eventual winner turns out to be a fairly random member of the public.

The losers in this situation is not really the comp promoter. I see the loser as all those non internet connected entrants ( like my old granny) who have bought the magazine and put in a few hours of their time solving the puzzles by their own effort and then putting in their one and only competition entry for the week!

can understand your point there 3rd Zebu, i used to post them all before we had internet, also know quite a few people that still post them off as they've not got it either, though they all do say all entries have the same chance of winning be it online, text, phone or mail, a neighbour i knew ages ago won from the mail side of take a break & i've won on a few that have been mail posted,
hope your granny gets a winner soon xxx

SEARCH IS STILL NOT WORKING PROPERLY.

As search periodically updates itself, if you search at the wrong time it will not find relevant posts until the update has finished. If you want to see a detailed example look at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3213384 post #4.
