    Congratulations on the job Jackie:T

Look on the bright side - if it's full time you still have weekends free (or as free as it gets) and since we are now having our summer here I'm sure they will all be sunny and bright from now on:)

Jediteacher, glad to hear Daniel is doing well despite the reflux, if he is growing then he is keeping some food down - its amazing how much milk a baby can expel isn't it. He will come on in leaps and bounds and soon the reflux will just be a memory Im sure. You will soon get your MSE ways going again once he settles down. As for the lack of sleep well when they get to 15 they sleep a lot so you can catch up then :)

I do hope the problem with the neighbours gets sorted soon for you, sounds very serious. I hope the sun is shining there and it helps you dry some of that mountain of washing.

    Hugs back at you

Jedi hugs for you, it sounds like you are coping remarkably well with everything, and never ever feel bad about the easy cook food, you are putting dinner on the table, and your children aren't going hungry, that's all that matters for now. I am still gobsmacked though that you are having to pay for your babymilk, especially if the doctors have suggested getting a particular kind. Could they not even give you a private prescription for a bulk amount to save you a wee bit? x

    Bless you Jackie. :A

I am going to the health visitor on Thursday so will see what they have to say. The problem is the my little man is gaining weight so although he is having to have medication and has to have ready-to-use milk it can be bought at the supermarket so have to fund myself. Ah, well a small price to pay for your little one's wellbeing. This also means that I find it hard to get health professionals to take me seriously about his health probelms as he is gaining weight. Luckily I have a fantastic doctor whose own children have reflux and understands my frustrations. Also we have been down this road before with my daughter so it's not new to us.
Unfortunately we are not entitled to any grants, extra funding, help as we earn all of £100 above the threshold to get anything. This in effect makes us a lot worse off then those who do get this help but I suppose there has to be a cut off somewhere.

Good news re the job Jackie. :T And I'm glad to see another supporter of tolerance on the thread. :D There are much nicer ways to handle what a few people may have seen as annoying posts than has been done here today. It really didn't make nice reading. :(I hope the thread can move on now. :)

Hope things improve quickly for Daniel, Jedi. x

Baking all done, head splitting and lasagne underway for dinner. Headache has arisen from chasing late business payments from two companies who seem completely devoid of conscience and see no reason to pay a small business within reasonable credit terms for work carried out to their satisfaction. More debt collection tomorrow. :(

    Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. :(

My friend's wee one had reflux, and it took them about four months to diagnose her. I remember before they did, we were in Ikea in Edinburgh (I think you might know it Mardatha ;) ) and the wee soul projectile vomited all over my mother and the woman sitting behind her  I hadn't even heard of it before that :o Well, I am off to start my presentation now. What happened to interviews where they sat you down on the other side of a desk and asked you questions?

I have been sowing the last carrots now for autumn/winter, just letting you know in case you want to get some late season crops in the ground or in containers. There is lots of info on the gardening threads. Carrots today and endives next week or so and then winter lettuces. I am also popping some radish and spring onions in and there is still time for some quick cabbages and kale (red russian grows fast and one will do us for the whole autumn and winter)

I have come straight to the reply space as I`m just back from getting to grips with mother nature. I hope peace and harmony is ruling again, as it has done for a long time now

Right, since today is Scotland's summer I have done 4 loads of washing, hung out and dry. I am now onto washing the cushion covers and throws to freshen them up - positive thoughts please, that the sun stays where it is till they dry! I might even give the car a clean if the weather holds till tomorrow ( only clean it about once a year).
On the OS front - I have acquired some more logs for my future log burning stove, and I am working on raising enough money for the installation of said stove - might take a while, but I am sure it will be worth it.
Going to read back a bit for ideas on draught proofing/lining curtains. I think I need to open a word document and cut/paste some of the tips I read at the time of reading to save having to trawl through pages and pages of posts. Why did I not think of that before!!

Jedi - pleased to hear young Daniel is doing well :D Just a question if you are SO close to the threshold, do you pay into a private pension? If you do check that those contributions are taken off (for the purpose of many benefits you need to deduct them from your income). I was going to suggest the same as Jacke - worth an ask, see if there is any help. Do you have anyone who could help bulk cook for you? Just a thought that mums or mother in laws could do usefully!

Jackie - well done you! :T dont know what happened to "normal" interviews all of them want you to show that you can run a presentation with one hand whilst making coffee with another and sending a fax with your nose!

Dee Hope the jam making goes well, I made jam last year and never looked back. It tastes of real fruit now rather than just sugar! Must find that recipe for apricot curd which I promised someone!
