I'm contemplating that old childhood fave toad-in-the-hole and thinking about tooling up to make 2 at a time in the cause of efficient use of the gas oven, and wondering if I can sucessfully freeze one of them for next week? Has anyone done this and does the batter thaw out OK or does it go all soggy and horrible?Dum Spiro Spero0

I completely forgot to share my small OS victory last week- when cleaning out old house mum was doing kitchen and I gave her a spray bottle with stardrops mix, she happily cleaned all kitchen and asked where I bought my miracle spray, she was stunned when I told her what it was, but she has said she is going to buy in future as it works on everything brilliantly.:)0

EDIT; if anyone has any rain to spare, could they please send it my way? The celestial watering can gave us some on Sunday afternoon and evening but has been a bit lacking every since.
Well, I can't do it immediately as we are having our summer day today in Central Scotland however I can confidently predict that by tomorrow normal play will have resumed and it will likely be tipping down.
I'd be delighted to send it your way, and to anyone else who wants it too - we are a little greedy and do ask for some sunshine in return although to be honest we could live without it if you accept the rain:)
Anyway, no ideas on the mini sausage roll makeover front so dinner tonight may be sausage rolls, baked beans and roast potatoes (have lots of potatoes to use). It's not exactly a balanced diet but it will have to do - I must use up everything that's in the freezer.
I did have a blonde moment last week though when I got my tupperware tubs confused as I was leaving for work and opened up what I thought was my nice salad at lunchtime only to find I had a tub of defrosted mashed potato:eek: How I didn't notice the weight difference I do not know. I've been more careful since:)0 -
Bob - either do what we all do and answer many posts in one or start a new thread in the arms. This thread has galloped on and it makes it difficult to read. No one is being mean to you or not being your friend, but there is a time and a place for cheering everyone up and its not here or now.
Well today I have had the insulation man come out, apparently we only have 100mm of insulation (and a big old hornets nest - thankfully now abandoned ) inone loft and 60mm in the other. They will increase all of it up to 270mm (wow) and ensure the 3 tanks are lagged for the princely sum of £79 :T:T:T Had we been eligible for other benefits I think we would have got it free but I was chuffed at the price. We used these guys http://insulation.carillionenergy.com/homeowner in case anyone else was interested, although I think there are lots of companies that do it.
Septic tank man came to empty the tank today, only issue is we have lost the tank :rotfl:Found another well and a clean water soak away where I thought the tank was but the tank or more likely cesspit now is somewhere down the hill.......think I am going to have to resort to a really OS method and dowse for the wretched thingThat will get the neighbours talking.
Pork and apple burgers for tea as I got lots of cheap stuffing from approved foods last week and the boys take the burgers for lunch tomorrow. Peace at last as FIL has gone home and DH has been called back into work, so am going to take my rods and go into the woods to look for my tank. If I am not back today I have been eaten by the bears!Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
Thank you kimitasu,
Can I ask - how do you manage to lose a septic tank? Also if its metal would a metal detector not be better?
Am determined to cook.a meal tonight, no easy task with house full of boxes but cannot face takeaway again. Have been incredibly lazy and taken today off, took kids school.popped into shop then have sat down to fend off this bug I caught. Ds13off sch with it too.
It's nice that for the first time in weeks I am not rushing to meet any deadlines.
Although its fathers day Sunday and would love any present ideas for my dad he is incredibly difficult to buy for and he has been amazing with the move so.really want something special.0 -
