Good tip about the coffee filters, I'm sure I've got some from when OH went through his "real coffee" phase. :cool:Dum Spiro Spero0 -
I'm glad someone did!
OS moments today: been to the library to get the 'living on £1 a day' book along with a few others, and am sat here drinking water rather than squash as I normally do. Will try to save the squash and other dilutey drinks for when the mr is here too, I'll plod on with water as often as possible! On the up

Annyyyywwwwaaaayyy. OS is all very well but i had a baking "moment" on Sunday night - bread pudding with some leftovers and as the oven was on some weetabix cake. So i think that's enough to last the week - WRONG.
Family love weetabix cake and now it's all gone, bread pudding probably won't see out the day. It might be OS but not very MSE!! :rotfl:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Seriously bob, tell me where I've laughed at your spelling. I think you'll find I haven't. Ever.
And I'm not a "wolf", I'm a human. One who is getting a little sick and tired of being called names. Please pack it in, it's hurtful. On the up

Please don't feel that you have to leave, I personally believe that this thread is all about life, difficult at times but full of different and interesting characters and it would be an awfully dull place if we were all the same.
If members don't want to see posts from certain people then MSE has the ignore facility or you can just skim over those posts, no harm done, no need to make a big deal of it. Life has a tendency to throw bigger problems at us than forum posting styles so I prefer to "not sweat the small stuff".
I think one of the greatest gifts in life is tolerance, none of us really know the problems we may have or what our lives are like in the real world so on forums it's nice be tolerant and welcome new people. It would be a shame if the thread ended up cliquey and posters with a different view or posting style felt unable to come here, something which it has sadly been accused of in the past.
Yes the thread does meander a little bit (hence the fact we've been to the arms & back) but as long as posts aren't deliberately nasty, abusive or completely off topic there shouldn't be a problem. We're all grown ups, we can ignore the things we don't like and embrace things we do. It really shouldn't be a case of "fit in with us" because this thread doesn't belong to anyone, it isn't ours, it's a thread for all.
To keep it on topicthe sun is actually shining today and it's not raining :T so I can get things on the line instead of having wet washing draped round the house.
Brilliant post. :T:T:T
If you get pleasure from the thread saveabob then don't leave it.
Really not in the mood to do office work today so have procrastinated it in favour of baking.Just simple stuff like scones and pancakes and will do some muffins using the chocolate from the four uneaten easter eggs. How'd that happen?
The garden is still suffering from the terrible low temperatures we are having. I really hope we get some heat soon.0 -
I miss read the coffee filter bit too. Yes Vamp I understood too, my Dd says the words move about the page and actually slide of the edge on paper.
I have just eaten the best strawberry I have ever tasted, and even gave OH half, if I grow nothing else it was all worth it - and by the way its looking that will be all I grow. Just did a bit of weeding and am currently waiting to see if the nettle stings work as ceridwen once mentioned! To be honest I will go and thrash myself with nettles if it stops this pain :mad: Oh I fibbed got 3 petit pois too - could sustain an army! And theres a tiny green blob on one of the tomato plants outside - could be a tom or just some weird disease. Bloomin June and I got my first tom growing and Mardatha has already had red shiny fruit on her plantsClearing the junk to travel light

:rotfl:i never called you a wolf .some people can gang up with others and dish out upset but they can t take it back this is a prime example.0

Sigh. Where did I swear? If you're referencing my use of the term "sodding", then it's classified as nothing higher than mildly vulgar.
See here: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/sodding
ETA -some people can gang up with others and dish out upset but they can t take it back this is a prime example
No, I didn't "gang up" on anyone. I expressed agreement that your posting style would traditionally be frowned upon on message boards (which it would) - no judgement on whether that's right or wrong. I didn't dish out upset either; unless you find it upsetting that I struggle to read your posts? In which case, I'm sorry but I can't do much about that sadly.Yes Vamp I understood too, my Dd says the words move about the page and actually slide of the edge on paper.
Yeah, that sounds quite similar to what I get... IRL if I'm given a massive, un-broken-up (there must be a proper word for that?!) paragraph, sometimes putting a coloured overlay on it helps, but that's normally about all I can do sadly. On the up
