Couldn't this be done by PM?

Annyyywwaaayyy (again), I am looking to make a chicken curry tonight with Jamie's curry base (which is fab) cos i made it the other day and froze loads and some leftover chicken from Sunday. Is it ok to reheat this chicken? It isn't something i've normally done.

I always reheat chicken like this. Just makes sure it is PIPING hot. :)

Thanks for the tip about the tea tree oil littlebrownfrog. :T I'm afraid my husband hates the smell of vinegar. and I always have tea tree oil in the house.

Afternoon all - lovely here and I have 4 loads of washing on the line (and dried 4 on there yesterday) - playing catch up after a very, very wet weekend ane extra washing from DS1's school trip (with river based activities) and DS2 having an 'accident' one night. Still, all done now - just needs to finish drying and then I can tackle the ironing mountain!

Trying to use up little bits 'n pieces from cupboards and fridge at the mo. OH has been given advance notice of his contract ending - admittedly not for another 3 -4 months, but finding stuff in the run up to Xmas is harder (although not as hard as Jan-Mar) Making sure nothing is wasted if I can - I hate waste at the best of times - it really is throwing money away. Rescued a bruised pear, a bruised apple and 4 squidgy strawberries today - all chopped and frozen together for a mini crumble. Did have to compost two mushrooms found at the bottom of the veg drawer :( - they'd gone just too far - slimey! Am finding - like most of us - that supermarket bills are just rising and rising - all those 10p here, 20p there rises add up to several pounds each time.

On the earlier topic, I have to say that I find repeated small posts annoying - but appreciate that not everyone does so.

What sort of person could melt a Thornton's bunny? I'm devastated.

OS wise - I have made two jars of mint sauce and I'm very proud of them
  • Thank you to everyone who responded to my questions about home schooling, as i said it's a possibility but that depends on what the head has to say and if we could get her into another school or not and if not then it would be home schooling.

Sorry i can't remember who it was but it's not as a result of a knee jerk reaction to something that has happened, it is on medical grounds that we are requesting that DD be placed in a certain class when she moves to yr1 next year and not the other class in yr1 as there are certain factors with that class that could cause DD stress/anxiety/worry which could result in her having some bad seizures.

i am going to go back and reread the posts with links in and save them all to my favourites and have a good read of them all.

this morning i have made myself a 'lovely' green soup, using the stock from the gammon i cooked yesterday, it's got a tin of garden peas(something we always have in as a standby but never seem to use) a couple of carrots, a few celery sticks, a handful of cherry tomatoes and some sweetcorn, blitzed it all up and it's very green and smells a bit weird but it'll get eaten - most probably by me only!!!:rotfl: will portion it all up and freeze most of it

we will have a bit of extra cash this month as i'm working at school all this week and have already done a week which i'm still to be paid for

wondering what to have for tea today...... DH said he fancied something naughty like a chinese takeaway but then this morning he changed his mind and said he didn't know what he fancied, we have a fridge full of salad and half a gammon joint to eat but that'll keep so i guess we won't know what we are having until DH is home around 6 tonight!!

right off to go and read those links and try to decide how long i should give the headteacher to respond to my email, i'm thinking until friday morning and if he hasn't responded by the time i get to school friday lunchtime then i might pop to see him!!!

:) Afternoon all, just dropping in with a quick poser about cookery. Due to a little bit of over-enthusiasm at the whoopsie section yesterday I have several sausages above and beyond normal requirements.

I'm contemplating that old childhood fave toad-in-the-hole and thinking about tooling up to make 2 at a time in the cause of efficient use of the gas oven, and wondering if I can sucessfully freeze one of them for next week? Has anyone done this and does the batter thaw out OK or does it go all soggy and horrible?

:) I shall need a filling re-done on a back tooth as it has started to get a hole around the back; it's a root-cannalled one from years ago so I couldn't feel anything amiss, hence the wisdom of check-ups.

:) I'm exhausted today due to insufficient sleep and feeling decidedly CBA but will play on the web until my connection goes down at 4 pm then seriously get a wiggle on. A pal and I made a flying trip to our lotties at dusk last night and nothing too horrendous has happened except I shall be having to get the sickle out and cut down some hay which has grown on The Rough and is falling in from next door's plot and starting to block my pathway.

The broad beans are the best things up there at the moment and pal and me ceremoniously shared the first pod. Tatties are looking a little folorn and two of the squash had mole hills come up directly underneath them and were sitting exposed on the surface.......honestly, the gentleman in black velvet is seriously provoking my ire at the moment.

Never mind, worse things happen at sea. Tomorrow, I'll make gardening my first gig of the day but today I badly need some R & R.

Hope everyone is having a good time and that people and pets who are feeling under the weather have a good sleep and that tomorrow is a more comfortable day.

EDIT; if anyone has any rain to spare, could they please send it my way? The celestial watering can gave us some on Sunday afternoon and evening but has been a bit lacking every since.

Water porridge and salt Kittie, with single cream poured over. Haribo we are having some nice sunshine today off & on, quite warm. Ginny's wabbit might or might not be insane - but anybody who can keep easter eggs this long definitely is !

Well, O Fortuna at 6 am full blast should have got my message across. Everything was fine here until CC moved in (not OUR CC) last August.

Anyway, I am off so will catch up with you happy peeps soon.

    Laters xx

    I promise! It's not me! :D

DH was moaning about "that b~~@y loud music" the other night. I pointed out it was from a festival some four miles away and the only reason he could hear it is because we live in the middle of FIELDS :rotfl:

Hope you get it sorted, redlady, and good luck with your exams (or am I muddling you up with someone else???:o)
