    Afternoon All,

I have had a hard day at work today, but did get some good news, I have an interview for a new job on Thursday, it is only a secondment in the first instance but its fulltime (eek) and a huge increase in income for me, which would be great for the savings, and also for security as DH is in the building trade, and that's looking a bit ropey these days. I don't know what I would do with the children, but I will manage somehow -if I get it, that is!

Just my tuppenyworth on the carryon earlier on today in the thread, whether you know how to use the ignore function or not, it is possible just to ignore any posts which you find irritating. This thread isn't "ours" it is Martin Lewis' and none of us have any right to say who can or can't post on it. Delamo has already been chased off, although the reason people gave him a hard time was imo justified; but until this becomes a world where we are all officially segregated into sections, classes or whatever else, no one -especially not here where we are meant to support one another - has the right to push anyone else out. Has it not occurred to anyone that saveabobortwo may be mentally ill, or completely isolated at home with no one else to talk to (and then again maybe not)? I find it astounding that the volume of her posts has been commented upon, when we have at least one person on the thread who has completely fabricated at least two personas, who is welcomed and never questioned on the inconsistencies in their stories.

Well done Jackie G. Totally sums up how I feel. Id also like to add that I have found this thread clique in the past and would have posted much more frequently but feel uncomfortable. I hope it gets back on track quickly because the information i have gained has been useful and interesting. I think we all need to look at our posting style.

Edited to add - looks like its settling down now which is really positive. Its taken me an age to catch up x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I have to share my excitement - eight strawberries and six raspberries this morning :j:j:j:j:j First fruit crop of the year and plenty more to come. Had the first new pots at the weekend and they were lovely too.

    Does anyone have :

and is it worth buying at £8 or so?

Cranky - Neals Yard is where I tend to get alot of my stuff or a health food shop.

You would indeed have much in common. She kept alot of stuff from a previous relationship, stuff from childhood and a pair of skis! :D When the time is right you will find another person who will thank your DH for making you what you are and giving him the chance to be with you. Then life will be fab again but in a different way. xx

Forgive me for I have sinned. I have packed up the bacon joint from the slow cooker, allowing it to cool for broth tomorrow and have bought a takeway meal for tea  So drained from the exam, relieved too, it's all over just another 4 years to go!

Fingers crossed redlady, I'm packing my books away too, only to get another set out on Thursday to start the whole process again.

Thrilled to see the thread unlocked :D

for what it's worth I feel very welcome here thank you very much :D

OS: DH allowed next doors dog to come eat the crumbs off the carpet so he didn't have to use electricity in using the hoover. Er hello, too far matey, too far! :rotfl:

Oh I can share your excitement hex, I have harvested about 20 raspberries and 1 strawberry today :j We have had one other ripe strawberry, we shared it for breakfast about a week ago :rotfl:

Got flowers on lots of the veggie plants, but can anyone suggest why my courgettes keep flowering but I'm not getting any courgettes?? The flower seems to "fall off" just leaving a stalk behind. Only my second year growing them so a rank amateur :o

Erm, Churchmouse - I think those "stalks" might be baby courgettes ....... The gardening thread might help.

Freudianslip - are you doing the same exams as Redlady? If so you have my sympathy:o. Actually anyone doing any exams has my sympathy. Fingers crossed for you as well.

Perfectly normal Churchie. They are male flowers and a bit useless so will just drop off. (We all know a man like that ;)). The female ones will start soon and they will do the hard work of producing the babies. Sound familiar? :p:D;)

    :rotfl:That's hilarious!

I hve spent 4and a half hours on the allotment today and now have a sprained thumb:( However I did plant two gooseberry bushies, a logan berry and a couple of raspberry canes, a dozen broad beans and a dozen pea plants, and sowed some french beans.

I am trialling those grafted 'turbo' plants in my friend's greenhouse . I bought a tomato, a pepper and a sweet potato plant yesterday at b and q with the 15% off voucher. I will let you know how they do. I have seen them advertised in gardening catlogues but refrained from buying as they seemed so expensive. However I found a tenner in the street a couple of nights ago so splashed out at b and q. Does anyone know how to store sweet potatoes (asuming it grows!) - i am hoping to save one to replant next year.

Sorry for any typos, ti's a bit hard to type with only one operative thumb!!
