Sorry to read of your stresses over getting the kids to school - I am afraid I have no experience of that sort of thing so can't come up with anything constructive other than to say you seem as though you are doing what you can - and no one can ask more than that!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. de lurking to say that I am sorry to hear of the problems that you are having. My sister had a similar problem with her son for a while. She was told that she was responsible for getting him to school. She used to walk him right to his desk some days and tell the teacher he was there. He would then disappear half way through the day and she would be told that it was her responsibility to find him and bring him back!! They have no clue as to how hard it can be for a single parent. I also had a lady who worked for me who had exact same problems as you with one son (and violent ex). She was very lucky that in the end (after 3 years though) she was assigned a good social worker who managed to press the right buttons and understand the son and his needs. Both my nephew and her son have gone on to college would you believe and are doing well for themselves now. Dont give up. It is hard some days but you need to push on with getting help. Might it be worth phoning the education welfare and asking them to provide a case worker or even social services to ask for help and guidance? Dont give up but do take care of yourself. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sorry you are having a bad day. Kids, its amazing that they can do what they like but if we man-handle them to school they can report us to the police.
Even if it means going into the school everyday just keep doing it. Can you get a referral to your local child and family services via the Dr?One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

morning lovelies,
Things not been too bad here, kids have had afew wobbly days regarding going to school BUT i have managed to get them their (not on time but at ;east they got their). After my ranting and raving at school they have now "managed" to set up a CAFF meeting (to be held next week) I also have appointments with the child psychologist, womens aid and a parenting group so hopefully things will start to fall into place (fingers crossed anyway).
On the money front ive got abit of a dilemma. Ive filled in all my tax credits renewals and yesterday they paid into my account £1320!! I phoned them to ask what it was and they told me they had underpaid me. I asked if we could go over the figures again just in case it was an error, but no its all correct (so I can spend it!) My dilemma is that I want to use this money to pay off some debt. I can pay off the catalogue and Wescott outright but I would rather try to get Moorcroft paid off as well. Moorcroft gave me a figure of £713 over the phone should I accept this or would I be better off negotiating in writing? If so how much would you start off at?

Hi LiT
If this is too late you can ignore me!!
If you want to pay off Moorcroft then any partial settlement agreed should always be in writing. The amount they have quoted over the telephone sounds good and is a great discount but always get it in writing.
I am always a bit worried that in a few months they will write and say that you still owe the rest.
This will not necessarily improve your credit rating as it will show as a partial settlement which shows that you have not paid it in full - if your credit rating does not bother you ignore this bit.

Same thoughts here. Get it in writing and search the forums for the specific wording needed in the letter that covers you if the creditor or Moorcroft try and sell the remainder of the debt on.One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!
