Thanks all I didnt take up moorcrofts offer and have sent letters to all the creditors offering them 30% of balance to start off with. Not had any replies yet and I dont expect any will take me up on my offers but I am willing to keep negotiating.

Today I have paid for my car tax (12 months) in cash!!! Normally I stick it on the CC

DD has been off school since Wednesday as she has tonsillitis AGAIN!! and is on antibiotics and is very grumpy. She keeps on getting it every 6 - 8 weeks and its very frustrating!! Doctor has referred her this time to an ENT specialist so now waiting for an appointment to come through.

Ive got an appointment this afternoon at 1 with a lady from one of the organisations that was recommended on the CAFF. Its to give me advice on parenting (which is all well and good but think she should take my kids for a week or 2 then tell me where im going wrong) Ah well seeing my problems through a new pair of eyes wont do any harm and could possibly bring new ideas. I think my kids have spoilt brat syndrome as when we lived in Germany they got everything and anything they wanted because we could afford it. They dont see that I am now living on 35 grand a year less and that things have got to change.I also need to keep up with the budgetting which is also hard because in Germany our take home pay was ours to play with as all rent and utilities were deducted from pay so we never saw it. Ah well I think im getting the hang of it now (at last!)

Right i best get on with cleaning the lounge before she gets here as it is a mess. I didnt bother doing it yesterday and spend all day out in the garden making my new raised beds haha ooopppppssss

Lounge now all sparkly clean and I have tidied up the front garden (not really a garden as it is all gravel with afew dead plants in pots scattered around so I have moved those, swept the path and cleaned the front door! Off to grab a quick cuppa before she gets here.

Wow that was interesting. I had 2 lovely ladies come and visit me and were very understanding and non judgemental. We discussed the family background and now I am on a 12/13 week parenting course. They are coming to visit me next week and we will watch dvds and complete worksheets. They also said I will be having some homework to do. Things are looking alot more rosy and im feeling much more positive, but we will see.

  • Excellent news. Think of them as your own personal supernanny!

Good luck with the F&F's, we once got offered a 20% settlement out of the blue but we couldnt afford it and I was not going to borrow it.

Had a phone call today from the EX.....he has got himself a job!! We have agreed on £30 a week maintenance until the CSA have assessed him. Soooooo thats another £120 a month to use towards my debts. I also receive £40 a month from my eldest sons dad but this wont continue for much longer but even so is all spare money to go towards to debt busting!! Obviously I cant use this until he pays it and I am assuming he will, but if he doesnt I will have to have a rejig

Thanks fozmcfc (btw im a city fan too!!!)
Its a hard slog and I dont know how long I will be able to sustain it. I give myself £100 a week to cover all food/petrol/toiletries and kids bus fares but I need to do a 250 mile round trip to Manchester on Saturday so that is going to cost me £67 in petrol and its also half term (again!) but luckily the kids will be at their dads for 4 days so they wont eat me out of house and home and I wont have to spend money on extras. My freezer and cupboards were full but are getting emptier rather quickly but saying that I still have enough meat/fish/veggies in the freezer to last me at least 2 months. I will however need to stock up on tinned stuff, bread and milk (kids dont like HM bread!) I just need to try to carry on being super stingy for another couple of months then when I only have bank of mum and dad to pay things will be alot easier. Ive still got the other car to sort out yet but it will have to wait afew more months until I can afford to get it through an MOT and then I can sell it (hopefully) I except it will fail on the hand brake but nothing much else I hope. I was going to stick it on the CC as a good debt then pay it off as soon as the car is sold but in reality I dont want to do that.

Fozmcfc I notice your doing really well with your savings, could you not use some of this to pay off the loan or is it a loan that you cant repay early? Well done anyway
