  • Thats a good start to a F&F then, but at least its there for emergencies.

Make the most of the rays (dont forget your suncream!) I'm working this morning and then taking this afternoon off. We normally have a Friday afternoon off but as its bank hols it will be too busy to head out for our normally quiet wander, so today it is :).

LiT, well done on sorting out your finances. How did you get-on with your old car?.

One good thing, at least you only have a 300 yard walk to work. I started a new job a couple of weeks ago and have a 40-mile round-trip. However, I got my first wage packet this week and discovered I'm on more money than I was initially offered so that pay for my fuel costs.

I think your ex has a bl00dy cheek asking for petrol money though. Good info about alison.com, I've never heard of them before. As I am now employed as an IQA Inspector, I will look to see if they have any courses relevant to me as it may help me climb the ladder a bit faster with industry recognised qualies.

  • Seems ages since ive posted on here. We had a great time in Yorkshire the sun shone but the wind was rather chilly!! The caravan was lovely as was the camp. Well worth the money but I think we wont be going to Haven again as my eldest 15 was abit bored as there wasnt much for her to do. I set myself a budget of £500 which didnt include fuel but I managed to spend a grand total of £360 which included eating out every night AND petrol!!! So ive put £260 into my ISA.

PATMAN- Ive not done anything with the car as of yet but its work in progress. Great news on your earnings being more than you expected.

Alison courses are good and you can buy a certificate at the end of it. Ive done afew of their courses now and find them easy to follow.

Wages have gone in the bank today and Im trying to have a thrifty month with food shopping. My aim is not to spend money on rubbish!! Ive done a meal plan for the month and done an online shop at Mr T and have spent £170. I shouldnt have to spend any more as I have bulk bought milk and bread and will stick it all in the chest freezer. I will get a sack of spuds from work and a tray of eggs and that should be it. Should only have to top up on fruit n veggies.

Have a good weekend everyone im off to carry on washing!!!

Its a glorious day here and ive got 4 loads of washing blowing in the breeze with another load almost ready to be pegged out. Might need to invest in some more pegs though!!

My eldest didnt come on holiday with us and god knows what hes been doing as the house is a complete sh1thole!!! Not a single room in the house is clean or tidy and there is carp everywhere!! Need to get my back side in gear and get cracking but im in a CBA mood. Im back in work tomorrow and shopping should be here shortly so will need to put all that away when it arrives.

Im thinking if I make myself a list of what needs doing then its motivation enough for me to cross them out once done.

Ive worked out my finances and have today paid £329.76 off my CCs

Bank of mum and dad - £4000
    CC1 - £200 CLEAR
    CC2 - £360 NOW 230.24
    DWP - £1684.08
    Catalogue - £700
    Moorcroft - £1200
    Wescott - £474

    TOTAL 8618.08 NOW 8288.32
