Its not!!! Although I now smoke roll ups instead of ready mades. Works out alot cheaper and I dont smoke as much. I day I will get rid of them altogether.

    Hi LiT

Not really sure how I came across your diary but I am here now!!

I noticed up there somewhere you mentioned that you thought your HB calculation was wrong, if you want to PM me I am happy to check this out.

I am a Money Adviser and deal with HB (and obviously other benefits and debts!!) all the time.

No worries if you don't want me to.

Good luck with reducing your debt and have a lovely quiet week!!!

    EE

  • Got up at silly oclock this morning (Why???)

Ive made myself a day by day spread sheet so I can see exactly whats going out when and how much ive got left to play with. Ive set myself a budget of £60 a week for shopping and I intend on sticking with it until the contents of my freezer have been used up. Buying yellow stickered food items is all well and good IF you use them!

Im trying to save 1 months worth of outgoings so I can change all my DDs to the 5th of every month, that way I know how much I need to save each week to make my wages up to that amount but also how much ive got to play with. Im managing my own DMP but would like to get it cleared as soon as possible. Would it be better tooverpay each month or stick my access money into an isa then when I have a lump sum enough to cover the outstanding balance phone them up get a settlement figure and pay it off that way? (the debts arent running up any interest)

  • I'm the same as you, interest free self managed dmp. If you give them all you have you will have no reserves for emergencies. Better to pay them the set amount and then put the rest away for F&F . I've seen that recommended so many times on here.
