The last time I remember having an 'eyeful' like that was during our annual Fun Run: the local fire brigade fielded a team and they were outside the pub, in rather skimpy Roman centurion costume - they were well fit! :rotfl:'Whatever you dream you can do, begin it. Hello fellow frugallers:j
Am doing my best to remain postive but really had to think hard about how to put a good slant on not getting an interview for the job I went for and seeing the P45s.:( Never mind- good news is that I received a huge sample of free cereal [I joined Magic Freebies a while back -no personal connection to the site], am gradually earning a few pennies from the surveys and I found a penny today which brings my road kill total to £2 for this year so far:T
Had a super haul from Waitrose last night- I spent £2.11 and got 3 big packs of fresh chilli noodles, 2 loaves of bread, salad onions, 2 packets of scotch pancakes, 2 packets of muffins and 2 loaves of bread. OH was very impressed...I am so tight now that I wait until they've reduced the whoopsies even further:rotfl::rotfl:

PS so sorry to hear the little kitten didn't make it. hope the others ones are thrivingAiming for a life of elegant frugality wearing a new-to-me silk shirt rather than one of hair!0 -
I shall talk about cats then!
I've just got back from taking one of my other cats Wedgewood to the vets today as she has cystitis - apparently caused from an over active thyroid gland!
She could have an operation but at thirteen I'm not comfortable with that and the vet agreed so she will probably be on medication indefinitely after the results of her blood test.
Welcome Weequine hopefully we will get back to being a pleasant friendly thread for you to take part in.
Gingerandrubarb (great name!) to make the spicy rice I make chicken stock with the carcass and in the mean time fry an onion, flat mushroom and red pepper (sometimes green or orange too depending on quantity) and a good pinch of cayenne pepper and some sweet chilli sauce, then add the rice and then the chicken stock bring to the boil simmer then add the forgotten kidney beans and chickpeas and left over chicken and heat through.
Think that's about it. xHere dead we lie because we did not choose

hi weequine:T
Just been told the summer ball is now not a ball but a day at the races. Only a couple of weeks to go  so made a mad dash to the charity shop to get a hat. £5 grrrrrrr if I would have known sooner ............
Got the hat home and it does not go with any of my frocks:rotfl::rotfl: so more spending on the horizon. Hopefully I will get the money back by selling on ebay when I am done.0 -

Hi everyone
Another new start here. Just thought I would introduce myself as im new to all this frugality business (which you would realise if you looked at my bank statement!!) Im Mrs B, from Sunny Northern Ireland. Married to Mr B with two erm "delightful" children, DD is 3 years old and fully fledged diva and DS is 11.5 months and fully fledged destruction machine :P
Had a few light bulb moments over the past 2 years but kept switching the light off again and carrying on regardless! Now its proper LBM and cant be ignored. In a bit of bother but nothing that a bit of careful planning and a lot of tightening the belt wont fix. And thus I am here being inspired by your posts!!July £53/£155 Aug £6.55/£155
July GC £307/£250 Aug GC £0/2500 -
