My last post appears to have been deleted, which I find a bit strange considering some of the more recent postings on this thread! Just to make things clear, and I hope this will not be deleted, I have put Erme on ignore and will not be responding to any more of her messages.
The fishmonger offered me the head but I didn't think you could make stock out of oily fish, has anyone tried it?

You can - I saw someone make a 'fumet' (a jellied stock) of salmon. I don't know if she used the head, though. I think it was the body of the salmon poached in water or wine and some herbs, and the stock was then reduced.

I'm currently on a mission to get that rear end too. At the moment have a picture of her taped on the fridge and carbs are banned! (not very frugal at all though)

I've been trying to create money the past couple of weeks. Managed to get a new tutoring client for 2 hours a week at £25 per hour which I'm chuffed about. Also sold 26 (bits of junk) on ebay this weekend and made £446 which is all going to come off random debts.

I don't want to cause anyone offence. This is one of the nicest threads I have ever come accross on the internet. The common goal of stretching our resources and still having good quality of life makes it a friendly place to be. I've always admired how everyone comes from different backgrounds but somehow manage to get along just fine. Erme, I don't mean to be rude but I think your comments have been inflammatory. We don't all share your same religious beliefs but you don't have the right to create drama with anyone that disagrees. Also the beauty of this thread is people share alternatives to spending money. A few posters have done that for you and I think your replies to them were unecessarily aggressive and rude.

haven't been to check out Beyonce's legs and rear end, but I think I'm pretty happy with where I am - just need to work on getting rid of some of my 'paunch' now ;)

Seems I asked my chap the wrong question after I'd been to watch his darts match..... after it ended I went with him to pick up two of his team-mates from other local venues, and then he dropped me off at home. After he got back to his I asked him (via text) if they'd given him any stick, and he replied 'no'. Told him I was surprised, 'cos there had definitely been some interested glances from both of them (mainly from the first we picked up). But he confessed on Saturday that they had made comments, just not to give him stick - and the main one (or at least the only one he was prepared to share) was "Phoaaaar! She's got a fit body!" (insert blushing smiley.... would do it myself, but my smiley sidebar add-on isn't working since I upgraded my browser :( )

wow! It takes me months to make that much on ebay - well done! what are your tips?
  • I need a frugal plan for the week, it is a bit late to start tracking in the SOW now (Spreadsheet of wonder for anyone who didn't know - link on the first page of this thread).
This may be very dull but I need to write it down...
Tomorrow - plan is get my 5 hours work done tomorrow as much as possible (its a short week with an inset day today and Thursday off cos of strike so I have my son around a lot and I can't work with him around easily) Lunch will be peapod soup, bread and salad, dinner quorn something and pasta.
Wednesday, more work if possible, lunch leftover curry (it will be fine til then) and dinner something from the freezer barbequed - we have the tent up in the garden so we will sleep in that
Thursday, danger day! We can take packed lunches to the museum or somewhere else free and entertaining. I've an appt in the afternoon which breaks it up a bit though, with any luck it will rain and my son won't want to go out.
Friday lunch salady stuff, dinner stir fry

    phew, that feels better!

I was just going to say that, you beat me to it! I was feeling very pleased with myself for making £46 yesterday from last weekends free listing weekend. I did sell a few bulky item so pleased to have those out of the way.

Oh, and HI everyone, sorry I've not been posting too much lately. Terrible two's are looming:eek:
