Paid in chickens, what a crappy couple of days :(
Sorry to hear abt the kitten.

I don't understand why ex partners (& their new partners sometimes too) are always soo self involved when it comes to kids. Is it really that hard for them to put the children 1st once in a while. Grr (sorry, I could rant abt this till the cows come home, and still would be nowhere finished!& also, not wanting to 'steal ur thunder' so to speak)

Hope the next few days a better for u xxx

  • Don't think Marmalade is feeling too bad - she tried to run off with a whole chicken!

Luckily it was still wrapped and bagged!

    :rotfl:little monkey!:rotfl:

Ben's just the same - he was in the kitchen "helping" me cook tea last night, I popped through to the lounge for a new bottle of washing up liquid (have a huge cabinet where I can store stuff bought on bulk buy offers) and when I came back ... there he was, both feet on the kitchen table, helping himself to the cats dinner! (I was away for all of 20 seconds!)

Although he gets "told off" - he knows I don't mean it and he just "wiggles" at me and that's me in fits of laughter - so it doesn't stop him doing it again! (and again).

    Morning peeps

Had a rough couple of days. One of the kittens died:( he was very small and I spent hours latching him on to mum to make sure he got fed, bought some top up milk and hand fed him as well. Then he got some umbilical cord stuck in his mouth and it cut the oxygen to his brain. I am beside myself as I only went out for 1 hour!!! Mum was going mad trying to sit on him and feed him it was heartbreaking. She kept looking for him and so we put a little monkey (pj tips) in with her that seemed to settle her down a little but it was a really awful time. I know I am too soft and these things happen but it does not make it easy:(

Awww, so sorry to hear that - as you say, it does happen but it doesn't get any easier.

My wee girl cat was the runt and was teeeeennnnnyyyy - the kittens had to go to their new homes at 3.5 weeks (long story) so I hand reared her from then. Not ideal, but in a way I'm glad as I'm sure she would've struggled if she'd been left.

My friend's brother is using the same stuff as Erme, so it is a valid way of giving up smoking. He brought some coffee flavoured smoking liquid with him the other day...the mind boggles at smoking coffee flavour, but he's keeping off the ciggies.

Sorry about the poor little kitten, and your rotten time of it, paidinchickens. And here's hoping those of us down south don't barbecue ourselves today!

The lovely wasp man, Brian, came. Shook his head, ummed, aahed, and said "Let me get my lance". This conversation took place with me standing cowardly in the bedroom, pointing upwards!

He sprayed some powder, and there was a frenzied rush of wasp activity, and he said that if they came back, to let him know, there'd be no more to pay - and it was £50. He gave me a sheet, showing I'd had poison on the premises, plus a "proper" invoice, so we're both pleased, and wasp free today.:)

Oh the embarrassment 47 years ago! :o I was on the Central Line, and bent down to pick up something, and a wasp flew down my top and bra, and stung me. I screamed, and my friend yelled "let me see" ....... in a crowded train! We were coming into a station, so we rushed out, into the Ladies Only Waiting Room, and sure enough, I'd been stung next to my nipple.

We knew there was a chemist nearby, so went there, and he applied some cream and said, "let's find something to put over it, so your clothing doesn't rub" and produced .............. an eggcup!!

My friend was doubled up laughing, and I made a great sight, walking along with one boob sticking out in a cone shape (all bras were like that) and the other boob with an eggcup outline! But I still went into work, and nobody said a thing, though everybody stared!!! :rotfl:

Thanks for your kind word everybody I really needed some support today and I am glad there is always someone on here to listen:T

DH brought only one fan down stairs before he went last night and it has been put in the dining room so the cat can have a cool corner (she has a really thick coat and this weather is doing no good) I think I may have to budge her over:rotfl:

going to have cheap hot dog sausages (tin) and cheap rolls for tea........I know not very nutritious but quick and does not involve the oven :p

The weeds are taunting me at the moment as they know its too hot for me to go clobber them .......can't even bribe the kids as last time they left the weeds and pulled all my plants out:rotfl:

Thank you for thinking about me, I'm so sorry about your kitten.
    I have loads of G&T left :-)
I've had a weekend off my son (he was at his dads) so been out seeing bands and cleaning the house, painting banisters and sleeping a lot, all the things you can't do with an 8 year old around :-)
Not been tracking spends, still don't know about DLA but took a hundred out of my savings as a buffer.
I'll redo the SOW and start again in July, hopefully this week I should know what is going on more. I just have days when not knowing siezes me up but the other days are fine.
