Cheers for that NPM. Have checked the websites of the 3 biggest hospitals near us and they have bogger all on their websites about spectrum disorders. One appears to have a big SALT service which I am going to look at.

When we first noticed DC1 was not right (sorry wrong words but I can't think of how to describe it.) we thought it was Autism or similar. Then as we researched and read we realised it was Dyspraxia. When we finally got to see a consultant and I said what we thought it was and why he sort of looked at me as if to say " I am the Dr. and I will tell you what I diagnose." He was an arrogant sod. So DC1 had MRI scans, blood tests, this test, that test etc, etc. Backwards and forwards, appointment after appoitment. Untill he said he was going to refer him to a Physiotherapist and occupational therapist as he suspected Dyspraxia <roll eyes> They were a another tale.

We don't think DC2 is that bad but it is enough to be causing him problems at home and school and I hate to see my DC suffering.

Tiger - No rush with the reply, just do it when you have time hun xx I am really lucky as I've not had to fight to get a diagnosis. There was one inicident where the assessment centre tried to pass the buck but fortunately my HV who was a star stuck her 10 penneth in and it went back to them. SALT have been a total waste of time from day one. I am STILL waiting for them to see DS, should have been last term, wrote to me to say they'd be seeing him THIS term. Well it's easter hols in a week so they are fast running out of time!!!

Flutterby - feel better soon lovey xx

Butterflybrain - hope batteries turn up Monday :(

tiredmum - Hope DS comes home soon xx

Another MIA person here - but all because of work.

Today I started my new role :j with a 5.00a.m start - 200 mile drive, a fab day with my new boss and then a 200 mile drive home. Now been up for 16 hours so came home via the chinese takeaway and bottle shop! :o New role is set to be totally fabulous so it's all good!

For all those with AS children my thoughts go out to you. My brother was an undiagnosed Aspergers with high intelligence but zero empathy for/with others and left a trail of devastation behind him. Our childhood would have been so much happier if we'd have a diagnoses. He died 4 years ago and I still wish that he'd had the help that todays' children have. I wish that the family had the support too as we all suffered!

Treated myself to a Kindle  and am amazed at the way it works.

Good vibrations to all those who can use them - love this site even though I find it difficult to reply to individual posts.

    Evening all
Lovely day at work, lol, I arrived to find only one of my 3 machines working, 2 people gave their notice in, so the rest of their department was told no one is being replaced so be prepared to take up the slack. Slack? There is no bloody slack, the rope is as tight as it will go.
DS1 & 2 finally realised that DD wasn't joking when she told them she's not organising Mothers day this year, so the 2 boys have arranged to take me & hubby to lunch tomorrow.
    Have a lovely evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

TAPPERS tell TAPLORD i'll be round to do his back sack n crack if he doesn't go to the docs:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

he sounded really keen till I told him what it meant! :D:rotfl:

He's spent half the day in bed and is feeling a bit better tonight, I'm sure a lot of it is exhaustion due to his unsociable working hours. I'd like him to get another job and he's been looking but there's nothing going round here at the moment.

I've had a lovely evening - took DS for a 3 hour shift to work and it wasn't worth driving home(20 mile round journey) so I took my book and read in the car then had tea in Morrisons cafe - jacket spud and cheese before having a nice leisurely roam round the supermarket while doing my weekly shop:) I'm easily pleased:D

have a great weekend all - I'm working 6 out of the next 7 days now x

Late one here where does time go.

Anyway it's the weekend and I'm not working -and have nothing planned - well apart from a mahoosive to-do list!

Managed to get the WM on and mostly dried outside, DW been on but it'll have to wait til morning for emptying.

Forgot to say thank you to (I think) Taplady who mentioned the Aldi garden clogs yesterday. Very nice they are too (have Crocs typr already but they're not sturdy enough) - hoping they get some use this weekend, weather permitting.

    Have a good weekend everyone
