ETA - Tappers maybe tell your DH what's happened to my DH because he left going to the doctors for nearly three weeks! He could've lost one of his testicles and is now into his third week signed off - maybe that might motivate him, although not sure how you can make him think that a bad chest could make him lose one of his fellas...

            Afternoon peeps!
Went to Mother's Day Assembly this morning which was very sweet. Feel absolutely shattered today Just feels like it's been a mega busy week and kids haven't slept great. So this afternoon I am going to do sweet FA until school run Just feels like it's been a mega busy week and kids haven't slept great. So this afternoon I am going to do sweet FA until school run
Think we're having chicken and chorizo casserole left overs for tea, must go and get them out of the freezer.
H managed to get his scooter to work this morning, not sure if it's dirty fuel or something more sinister (aka expensive!). He needs to book it in for electric ignition to be fixed so had better save the pennies again.
Nowt else going on. Windy and cloudy here, shame really as yesterday was lovely in the afternoon. DS wants to go to the zoo tomorrow so ought to see what the weather forecast is.......who wants to bet its rain <rollseyes>
tigerfeet - good for you for ringing, hope you can get some sort of explanation.
Lou - Hugs for you, well done on the cleaning you have done xx
lowesy - Enjoy your last day :rotfl: @ Tappers telling Taplord if he doesn't get his chest seen to he'll loose a testicle. Candy - I am weird too, my mum would peg my teddy up from his ears and I'd cry. Although aparantly I used to tie some of teddies and dolls to the washing line by their necks and swing them round
Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife Louise Brooks

            Afternoon all!
Hope all the poorly people get well soon. I managed a nice lay in this morning but that's made me a bit lethargic. Never mind I've got the hoovering done and the rubbish put out in the bin. I've also got all the stuff off the airer and have only got a couple of bits to iron. So this afternoon I'm going to:
 Mop kitchen and utility
 Water plants
 Bit of ironing
 Write a shopping list
Sort out some paperwork that needs sending off
Get in some more reading....I've already finished one of the books I got yesterday
The car is having it's MOT tomorrow so I'm dropping it off tonight. I'm trying a local garage so I can walk home and back to collect it tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be fine. It's over 10 years old but last year it only need a light bulb for the registration plate. Fingers crossed!!!

tigerfeet.......do you know that you dont need the school to request that your son has an assessment....you can request it yourself from the CEO of the LEA. They have a legal obligation to do it and have to answer you within 6 weeks.
It is not the schools decision, it is the LEA`s.
 Model letter here;)
 http://www.ipsea.org.uk/What-you-need-to-know/Common-problems.aspx#RequestingAssessment
 The IPSEA website is brilliant.
I didnt have to go down this route as DS is on the severe end and was diagnosed and statemented at just coming up to 2 bless him.
The earlier you get him assessed and diagnosed the earlier he will get help and support esp with language problems......they thought DS would never be verbal but with one to one SALT 3 days a week for 18 months he did talk ( he is still behind his peers but is able to communicate.....without proper communication they get very frustrated and angry).
Please do PM me if you need any help...it is a long a difficult path and sometimes someone who has walked part of it makes a big difference

            Afternoon all,
bit grey here but the sun is trying to come out. If anyone has the sun, please send it to wiltshire for me to keep the tent dry later!
hope everyone who is poorly today is better for the weekend, so many coughs colds and bugs floating around.
clock watching at work, as I can't wait to get away for a couple of nights, we're only going down the road, but I love the simplicity of camping, and the joy of managing without loads of possessions (except I have to have my hairstraightners and coffee maker!!!!)
Dinner is chilli wraps with leftover chilli from last nights dinner, accompanied with copious measures of bacardi and coke!
have a good weekend all...see you monday! x0

            Hi everyone,
Excuse me while I scream - Aaaargh. Istarted my first day of retirement by backing into a neighbours car, it was sitting in my blind spot but I know that's not an excuse, I'm really angry with myself.
I went to M & S and got 2 of the mother's day meals for £15 (with Dh's staff discount it was £12 each). I don't think some people relalise that all the joints they use for the promotion are slightly different sizes, so I searched through the beef joints and chickens to get the heaviest and got a beef joint costing £10.50 and a chicken costing £7.50.
I want to go and sort out the freezer now to fit everything in. I want to be more organised and after seeing a photo of Thriftlady's fridge on her blog I am feeing inspired to sort mine out.
Loulou - I'm really sorry DS is so sick, I hope you get him sorted out soon, have you asked the Dr for a hospital referral, he seems to have digestive problems so often.
Tigerfeet, let us know what the teacher says, it's horrible when your children are upset when they've made such an effort.
Hugs and spoons from a very happily retired snoozer (although it feels a bit weird and I can't stop thinking about work).0

Bitsy, I know I owe you a PM. My computer crashed yesterday when I was replying. Will do it tonight.
NPM, thank you very much, I may well take you up on the offer. Apparantly the school has to show they have followed certain measures before they will look at him for an appraisal. I have a Dr.'s appointment Tues morning to see if I can get the Dr. to refer him. Apparantly we have a waiting list of up to 9 months atm. If I have no joy with the Dr. then I will take the writing to the LEA route. That link is fantastic thank you for the info.
He was identified in nursery as having speech and language difficulties. They refered him to SALT. He was assesed and we were given work to do at home and nursery. He then had a 5 week course at a clinic with 5 other children. We had another set of stuff to do at home. When he went to school he was reassed and school do 10 min. a day with him. I haven't had any other work for him.
School felt he needed to be reassesed again and couldn't get them to come. Meanwhile DC3 is having a few speech problems so nursery and I discussed things and it was agreed I would self refer so things would get movng quicker. My eldest has a bit of a problem with a lisp as well. So I went to them and we have an appointment on the 18th April to assess them all.
My eldest has Dyspraxia but it has taken us till he was 9 to get a diagnosis and that is only because I have chased them to hell and back. School has been very helpful now we have a diagnosis but not before. He is also on the G&T list, which I think helps him overcome a lot. He is scarily bright sometimes. But now he is fairly much sorted, though I suspect I will have to keep on top of things, I shall now put my energy into DC2.
But it is so wearing.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
