We got woken up at 1a.m. by burglar alarm !
No burglar but battery was low and spent the rest of the night expecting the thing to go off again so we are all shattered. A company came round this morning to sort it out and the peace is bliss:j.
Looks as if we need a new alarm system so more money being spent- oh joy!!! Decided to bite the bullet and just get on with things as it should be worth it in the end.
Making lasagne for tonight and maybe apple pie if I can pop out for bramley apples later. Me and DH have been coughing and spluttering so had a Lemsip to soothe throat etc.
Went to Lidl yesterday and they had mince for a pound (half price)so got some for the freezer in garage. It is half empty so trying to fill it up to save energy, time and money in the long run.
Looks as if the new shower will finally be finished in family bathroom next week so need to look for really classy shower curtains and rings for it.

You could be really devious and ask DH to go to doctor for your sake "" as I worry about you and it would put my mind at rest so please humour me!"" Looking a bit tearful works wonders too!

snoozer - he's already under the hospital x
he's in an hilarious mood this afternoon. gave him his bath as ordered, then he wanted his towel then out. he's now playing with his lightening mcqueen, mater, chick hic (or whatever its called) and hudson hornet. he keeps crashing them and saying 'oh no careful ....' and going through all the characters names... gets to mcqueen and says ka-chow and ka-chicka"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0

Sorry there are so many people and children under the weather-get well soon.
Snoozer - sorry to hear about your Dad,good that hes ok at the moment. That was how I ended up 'retired',when my Dad started needing a lot more care due to losing my Mum & lung cancer returning.I was 51,but I never regretted it,and we made the most of the time he had. That was 4 years ago,and sometimes I think I should look for something part time, but we adjusted to the drop in income by cutting back on hols,+ doing the stuff we all do on here :rotfl:so we usually manage.
By the way my DS1 did exactly the same with his car a couple of weeks ago, backed round the drive and forgot his friends car was there-he's so used to just backing and turning he didnt even look
Got spag bol in the slow cooker, smells good.DS2 will have turkey stir fry as he is intolerant to tomatoes.I've been trying to finish the crochet blanket for DNieces babys impending arrival. Its taken me nearly as long as the pregnancy :DI'm on the last 2 sides of the border and hoping the wool lasts out,but its not looking good. The bulk of it is from the local market, but there are 2 accent colours and its one of those that may be short and not as easily got .
Off for a bit of a surf, bye for now.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0

Well my weekend has just started with a nightmare DS school has phoned to say he has had a fight and is being excluded for 2 days a group of boys were messing about and saying things about other peoples family Ds took exception at a comment and confronted the other boy at break and the other boy threw the first punch so DS floored him and has knocked the boys tooth out the other boy is being disciplined as he also has to share some of the blame I am so cross at DS for being so foolish to involve himself in something like this he has not turned up homeiso am fretting about what he is doing
 Sorry for the rant0

            Afternoon All
uolypool ....Take care shingles can be really nasty (((((((Hugs))))))
DH bought me a glass goblet, pasta maker attachment and the mincer attachment for the kenwood because practical me would rather have something that is useful than a bit of jewellery that is left in the box and rarely worn , but I can't have them until tomorrow. , but I can't have them until tomorrow.
He bought me the kenwood last birthday because I always wanted one ever since we were married but we never had the spare cash for years due to a mortgage and kids etc.
I can't wait to try all the bits out :j
Really annoyed that my scooter batteries haven't arrived yet and when we phoned up the company they said that they had sent the order but the company that supply them had lost it  So not impressed. They have now been re ordered and should be here on Monday there had better not be 2 invoices or there will be hell to pay. there had better not be 2 invoices or there will be hell to pay.
DH has gone back to work so I think I will go and put some seedlings in some grow bags

Tigerfeet......do you have a specialist centre nearby for assessment?
We are lucky enough to live up the road from this place
 http://www.sheffieldchildrens.nhs.uk/Child-Development-and-Neurodisability.htm
I dont suppose you live anywhere near Yorkshire?
It certainly sounds like he needs assessing....it may not even turn out to be a spectrum disorder....you probably already know but children with Dyspraxia can exhibit similar features to ASD ( lack of imaginative play, isolation, sensory problems, language difficulties, slow to respond to instructions)
 http://www.dyspraxiafoundation.org.uk/info/about_us.php
DS has classic autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Tourettes and APD....they all interlink and you are never truly sure which you are dealing with.
and you are right, it is wearing, not just the intense care they need but also the constant fight and filling in endless forms to prove they need the help:o
OS wise today, made a Bara Brith, tidied through the house ready for the weekend.
Paid £800 off one CC:j:j very pleased with myself:rotfl:
Fish and chip night tonight so no cooking :T
Then we begin the usual battle to get DS to sleep before the early hours of tomorrow:p
Tiredmum......hope he come home and is ok....they are such a worry...hugs to you0

I've just come back from yellow sticky heaven. I nipped into the local MrA to post a letter.....while I was there I thought I'd stock up on stamps before the price goes up and get a few drinkies for the weekend. It's a habit for me to wander past the reduced section but I caught it at the right time today.....1 x steak and kidney pie, 2 x choc desserts, 1 x beef and kidney meat pack and 1 x large lasagne...I feel smug...it's very rare I find anything I like or want so that's the freezer stocked up and a nice dessert for dinner. While my luck was in I had a browse in the dry section and found a pair of rubber gloves for half price. It's the small things in life that make me happy!!!!As my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0

uolypool, take care, hope those shingles go soon

loulou, not sure if it's something you use for DS but lactaze enzyme tablets are buy one get one for a penny at H&B atm. I just bought some so I could enjoy some delicious yogurt & chocolate coated banana chips lol!
lowesy, nice work by your OH on the baby stuff!
Hope everyone's had a good day, and good weekends for those who are off away!
It's a lovely afternoon here in Kingston, nice and sunny but not too warm. I had some good marks back at uni today, one in particular was 78% but when I counted up my marks it was actually 90% :j Makes working my butt off worth while...
Stocked up on fruit at market, did my first at home salicylic facial peel, but not much OS as nothing really needs to be done! I'm saving cleaning before the LL comes over until sunday so the boys have less time to mess it up again
Did anyone see the Ann Summers April food? So funny, but not for the easily offended :rotfl: http://www.annsummers.com/Attachment/email/2011_04_03_banksy/banksy.jpgLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0

And we had some fab news, 2 of them have got part time jobs as a result of their 2 week placements :j:j how amazing is that? I'm so proud of them
