Beat Stamp Price Rise: First Class Rise (Not) (Merged)

Although second class post charges are not increasing, ALL first class rates of stamps go up on he 7th.
Your best bet when topping up your stocks is to get the books, sheets or even rolls, showing '1st' on them and not the pence amount or you will have to be adding 2p stamps to your letters after Thursday.
I think the increases are disgusting, last year, it went up in July and he previous year was July also, so this year they are increasing 3 months earlier. Last year, when checking the price of stamps on the Royal Mail site, I read how they bragged that they delivered over a million letters a day. The next paragraph was aout the increase in stamp prices by 'only' 1p, thus making their increase of over a million pence a day - £10,000 A DAY!!!
I think that the mail delivery service is atrocious. Nearly every day or at least 3 times a week we have to return mail that's been incorrectly delivered, or, we get mail with 'Not at this address. Try *****' marked on the envelope. I now mark in big red letters "TRY ****" (writing in the original addressee's name on the envelope) A bit sarcastic but why not? Can't they read or what?
In fact our company used to buy stamps by mail until £119 worth went missing in the post! The supplier has since found an excuse not to supply us now and I'm sure they think we have tried it on. Beleive it or not, I now order the stamps from the Royal Mail website at no extra cost and, they send it by recorded delivery! (Well, that's where 66p of the profit goes anyway) (That's a money saving tip in itself eh?)
I thought it was limited to the fact that our company address is one of 4 unit numbers but on the last two occasions I visited my dad 80 miles away, I have had to return mail wrongly delivered to him.
Fist class post?? I thnk NOT :rolleyes:0 -

Costco are selling 60 first class stamps for £15.69 - that's 26p each. First Class stamps go up to 30p from tomorrow.
Sorry if you don't have Costco access, but for those who do, it's a bargain. They never go out of date.
*This was in Costco Haydock, not sure if other branches are selling them.0 -
Costco now sell a pack of 60 first class stamps and the price works out at a couple of pounds less than face value. A great saving!!0

The margin retailers make on stamps was 5% across the board.
From Thursday retailers will make 3% on 2nd class and 7% on 1st class.0
